(Minghui.org) I have been practicing Falun Dafa for many years. I discipline myself according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in my everyday life and always think of others first. When my son married, I treated my daughter-in-law as if she was my own daughter. To help them out, I babysat my granddaughter since her birth.
While I was babysitting, my daughter-in-law took advantage of having more free time. She did not take her role as a mother seriously and was influenced by modern society. She went out often, seeking fun, eating and drinking, even staying out all night. Inevitably, she had an affair. My son was hurt and angry, so he kicked her out and sought a divorce.
My daughter-in-law did not want a divorce and would not give up on her family. She often came to my home to visit with her daughter. I treated her the same as always, and she respected me too. I would often tell my son that I believed she realized her mistake and maybe he could forgive her and give her another chance. But he was unmoved.
One day my son came to me and said, “It has been two years, and I am ready to remarry my ex-wife. However, I have one condition for her: I want her to read Zhuan Falun – the main book of Falun Dafa – one time all the way through, so she will know how to become a better person.”
She agreed to read the book, and I was truly happy for her.
My daughter-in-law was back! She had completely changed into a new person. She no longer had a bad temper. She also started doing household chores and took care of her child tenderly. She was kind to everyone.
In the past, when other Dafa practitioners come to our house, she would get upset. Now she cheerfully greeted them. When she went to her parents' home, she told them “Falun Dafa is good!” and explained the facts about the persecution to them.
She asked me for a Dafa amulet to hang in her car and told me, “You practice Dafa and I know that Dafa is good. With the amulet in my car, I feel safe. The divine beings are protecting me. I will become a diligent practitioner as well.”
