(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 3 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 34 were illegally arrested.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Huiying and Ms. Wang Yingjie Arrested
Ms. Zhang Huiying and Ms. Wang Yingjie were arrested by four or five police officers on the morning of August 2, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong.
The two practitioners were interrogated separately at the Gongnong Police Station. The daughter of one of the practitioners was forced to go to the police station and sign a guarantee statement stating that her mother would stop practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Zhang and Ms. Wang were taken to the Chinese Medicine Hospital for a physical exam prior to being taken to a detention center. However, they both had high blood pressure and rapid heart rate, and so were not accepted at the detention center.
Both practitioners were released after being forced to have their photos and fingerprints taken.
2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Detained
Five practitioners from the Shuangyang District were arrested by officers from the Beishanlu Police Station on July 28, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Shuangyang District Hospital.
The five practitioners are Ms. Yan Yaqin, Ms. Wang Guilan, Ms. Han Chunying, Ms. Han Guirong and her daughter. They are all being held in the Weizigou Detention Center.
3. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Detained
Ms. Zhang Guixiu, 66, Ms. Gu Suhua, 64, Ms. Liu Bin, 47, and Ms. Zhang Xiulan, 62, from Niuhua Town in the Wutongqiao District, were arrested by officers from the Niuhua Town Police Station for hanging up Falun Gong banners in the early morning of August 2, 2017.
Song Chuan, a police officer assigned to the Bayanjing Residential Section, lead the arrests.
The four practitioners are being held in the Supervision Center's Detention Center.
4. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhu Mingchun and Mr. Liu Kunwu Arrested
Ms. Zhu Mingchun was arrested at her home by head of the Miyi County Domestic Security Division Yang Zihua, and other officers on July 20, 2017. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated. She was released the following day.
Seven or eight officers from the Miyi County Criminal Police Division went to Mr. Liu Kunwu's home on July 20, 2017. They used a construction lift and climbed into his home on the second floor. Mr. Liu was not home at the time.
Mr. Liu's family and relatives took him to the Shuanggou Detention Center on the afternoon of August 3, for fear of reprisals from the police.
5. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Ya Detained
Ms. Wu Ya, 57, retired from the Mining Bureau, was arrested by officers from the Taojiadu Police Station on the morning of July 27, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the Mining Bureau.
Ms. Wu was taken to the Wanyaoshu Detention Center that evening.
6. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Junling Arrested
Ms. Zhao Junling from Qianzhangsima Village, Wangbuzhuang Town in the Baodi District, was arrested at the barbershop she owns by officers from the Wangbuzhuang Town Police Station on the afternoon of August 3, 2017.
The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other related materials.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Caihong and Ms. Zhang Caihong Arrested
Ms. Liu Caihong and Ms. Zhang Caihong from Haiyang City were arrested by the Laiyang City police on the morning of July 27, 2017.
Their homes were ransacked and printers, Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, and Falun Gong banners were confiscated. The officers demanded 20,000 yuan in exchange for their release.
8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. He Ronghua, Her Sister and Mother Detained
Ms. He Ronghua was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested on the morning of July 29, 2017.
Three officers from the Jianggezhuang Village Security took Ms. He to her home and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and other related materials.
Ms. He Ronghua's younger sister Ms. He Rongxia, her mother Ms. He Shuxiang, and four other practitioners were studying the Falun Gong teachings there at the time. Ms. He Rongxia, Ms. He Shuxiang, and two of the other practitioners were arrested (one of them is Ms. He Huaying).
The other two practitioners were not arrested because of their advanced age (they are in their 70's or 80's).
Ms. He Ronghua, her sister and her mother were detained for 15 days. Ms. He Huaying and the other practitioner were released that evening.
9. [Liyang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Meiying and Ms. Chen Yunxian Arrested
Ms. Li Meiying, 71, was arrested on July 30, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Chen Yunxian, 71, was arrested at her store by officers from the Domestic Security Division on July 31, 2017.
10. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Shuzhen Arrested
Ms. Li Shuzhen was arrested on August 3, 2017. Her home was ransacked.
11. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Yong Arrested
Mr. Liu Yong, 65, was arrested on August 3, 2017. His home was ransacked.
12. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Li Arrested
Ms. Yang Li was arrested on August 3, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong.
13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Lihua Detained
Ms. Wang Lihua from Yangshigangzi Town, Xinmin City, was arrested by officers from the Liaohe Police Station. She was taken to the Shenyang City No. 2 Detention Center.
Her rental home in Fahaniu Town was ransacked. The officers confiscated two printers and other personal belongings. The police then sealed the place, like a crime scene, preventing anyone from entering.
14. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Chen Guixiang, Ms. Chen Shaojie, Ms. Qi Guiying, Ms. Wu Xiurong, and Ms. Lu Dan were reported to the authorities for distributing Falun Gong materials in Erdaozh Township on the afternoon of August 2, 2017.
The five practitioners were arrested and taken to the Chengnan Police Station. Ms. Chen Shaojie's home was ransacked.
15. [Chongqing] Ms. Xu Xiaoqin Held in Brainwashing Center for Nearly a Month
Five people banged on Ms. Xu Xiaoqin's door on July 2, 2017, but no one opened it. They used an electric drill to drill open the lock, and arrested Ms. Xu.
She was taken to the Hechuan Brainwashing Center, and was released on July 31.
16. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Jianying Arrested
Ms. Chen Jianying was arrested by officers from the Beiwang Police Station on August 1, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials.
She was taken to the police station, and was handcuffed to an iron chair the entire night.
Three officers from the Beiwang Police Station and the Jinqiao Police Station took Ms. Chen's keys and ransacked her home while she was detained. They confiscated a calligraphy artwork of Lunyu that was on the wall.
Ms. Chen was later taken to the Chinese Medicine Hospital for a physical exam before being taken to a detention center. However, there were irregularities on her electrocardiogram, so she was not accepted at the detention center. She was released on the afternoon of August 2.
