Additional Persecution News from China – November 14, 2017 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 were illegally arrested.

1. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Quan Chunnu Tortured in Prison

Ms. Quan Chunnu was taken to Jilin Women's Prison in November 2015. She was force-fed for 17 days, and her meals were laced with unknown drugs in June 2016. During the winter, she was only allowed to wear thin clothes and her cell windows were kept open. She was handcuffed for over 20 consecutive days in August 2016, and afterwards, she could not raise her arms.

2. [Liuhe County, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Bingyu and Mr. Liu Donghai Arrested

Mr. Liu Bingyu, 64, and his brother Mr. Liu Donghai, 51, from Xiangyang Town, were arrested by officers from the Liuhe County Police on November 10, 2017. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated computers, printers and cash.

Mr. Liu Bingyu's wife Ms. Jiang Guifen was injected with unknown drugs in 2009 and has been paralyzed since.

3. [Haikou City, Hainan Province] Ms. Liu Yang Detained

Ms. Liu Yang, 55, from Tianjin was, reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Haikou Train Station in Hainan Province on November 8, 2017. She was arrested, and her home ransacked. She is being held in the Haikou City Detention Center.

4. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xinrong and Ms. Liu Guangmei Arrested

Ms. Wang Xinrong and Ms. Liu Guangmei from Kenli District were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on November 9, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Youtian Police Station. Ms. Wang was released after she failed to pass the physical exam, while Ms. Liu remains in custody.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Jianhong and Ms. Zhang Jiamei Detained

Mr. Wang Jianhong and Ms. Zhang Jiamei from Muping District were arrested by the Muping District police and taken to the Muping District Detention Center.

6. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song and Ms. Sun Arrested

Ms. Song and Ms. Sun were arrested on November 12, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

7. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Shimei Given a Six-Month Prison Term

Ms. Xu Shimei was sentenced to six months in prison and fined 2,000 yuan by the Huangdao District Court on the morning of November 7, 2017. She was transferred to the Pudong Detention Center, and will appeal her case.

8. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gao Yumin Arrested

Ms. Gao Yumin was arrested by officers from the Jiaolai Town Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of November 6, 2017. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was forcibly fingerprinted at the police station before she was released that day.

9. [Haimen City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Ye Weidong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Ye Weidong and two other practitioners were arrested on October 28, 2016. He was given a two-year prison term by the Haimen City Court on August 28, 2017. The Intermediate Court reduced his sentence by only three months on November 9, 2017. His family not been allowed to visit him.

10. [Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Gu Rongfeng Faces Trial

Mr. Gu Rongfeng from Guangfu Town was to be tried by the Jiangyin City Court on November 15, 2017. He is held in the Jiangyin City Detention Center.

11. [Luohe City, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial

Mr. Yan Xinliang, Mr. Liu Jingmin, and Ms. Liu Yingchun from Linying County were to be tried on November 20, 2017.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three female practitioners Yuanyuan, Jiajia, and Xiaohua were reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials in Sijiazi Township during the evening of November 12, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Faku County Domestic Security Division and the Sijiazi Township Police Station.

13. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Chengfeng Arrested

Ms. Zhang Chengfeng, 76, from Wanzhou District was arrested on the evening of November 9, 2017. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, photos of the founder of the practice and her Falun Gong books.

14. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhou Fengxian Sentenced to 2.5 Years in Prison

Ms. Zhou Fengxian was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison by the Lianhu District Court.

15. [Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Fan Shufen and Ms. Wu Guizhi were arrested by officers from the Xinghua Police Station on September 30, 2017. Ms. Wu was released for failing to pass the physical exam, but Ms. Fan was placed under criminal detention.

Ms. Zhang Hongzhu was told to go to the Public Security Bureau on October 8, 2017, where the police arrested her. Her home was ransacked.

Mr. Gao Fuzhi was arrested around November 10, 2017.
