(Minghui.org) A 13-year-old schoolgirl in Shenzhen was interrogated at the local police station for several hours before she was finally allowed to be picked up by relatives. In the meantime, her parents remain detained following their arrest two months ago.
Mr. Yang Bo and his wife, Ms. Xiao Ying, were targeted because they refused to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. They were home on October 7, 2017 when more than a dozen agents showed up outside their door.
The police claimed that the couple’s parked car had been hit by another car and they were there to help with the investigation. The couple didn’t believe them and refused to open the door.
The police then said that the couple’s water pipes had broken and they needed inside to help fix them. The couple again ignored the ruse.
The police then brought over a locksmith to break into the home. The locksmith was unsuccessful, so the police used a drill to break the lock themselves.
Without showing any ID or search warrant, they broke in and ransacked the couple’s home. During the process, an officer brandished his gun to threaten Mr. Yang.
The police took the couple and their teenage daughter to the local police station, where the young girl was questioned for several hours before being released. The couple’s relatives filed a complaint soon afterwards and were told that the police treatment of the young girl was totally illegal.
The local police have declined to grant the couple bail.
Mr. Yang’s mother, who is in her 70s, is calling for the unconditional release of her son and daughter-in-law. The elderly woman can’t understand why her children were arrested when there is no law that bans Falun Gong.
Ms. Xiao, CFO of an international company, recently started practicing Falun Gong. Her colleagues expressed shock at her arrest. Her company is also struggling to recoup losses that arose from lost business opportunities due to Ms. Xiao's arrest.
