Additional Persecution News from China – December 15, 2017 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 3 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Li Shuangli Detained

Ms. Li Shuangli was arrested at her home by officers from the Liulihe Town Police Station, Fangshan District, at the end of October 2017. It has been over a month since her arrest.

Ms. Li was arrested in April 2014. She was given a three-year prison term. She was released from prison in the first half of this year.

2. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Qiu Fengzhen Detained

Ms. Qiu Fengzhen from Nianyu Village, Qingshan Township, was arrested by Bian Zhonghua, a driver at the Qingshan Township Police Station, and two officers on the afternoon of December 13, 2017. She was detained for 10 days.

3. [Tianjin] Ms. Xu Haihong Given a Two-Year Prison Term

Ms. Xu Haihong, 54, from the Shuangfengdao area, Nankai District, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Wangdingdi Police Station on January 5, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was held in the Nankai Police Department's Detention Center. She was tried by the Nankai Court on the morning of July 10, 2017. Her lawyer learned in early November that she was given a two-year prison term. She is appealing the sentence.

4. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Li Chaosheng Detained

Mr. Li Chaosheng was held in the Hefei Detention Center.

5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Pan Yanyan and Ms. Pan Rongqing Arrested

Ms. Pan Yanyan and her husband, Mr. Luan Jingyao, were arrested by officers from the Laishan District Domestic Security Division and the Shengquan Police Station on September 15, 2017. Mr. Luan was bailed out by his school as he was needed at work, but he has remained under surveillance. Ms. Pan was officially arrested on October 19. She has been held in the Yantai City Detention Center.

Ms. Pan Rongqing was arrested at home by officers from the Laishan District Domestic Security Division and the Shengquan Police Station on September 15, 2017. Ms. Pan was officially arrested on October 19 and held in the Yantai City Detention Center.

6. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hao Shina Arrested

Three officers from the Cuiping Neighborhood Police Station broke into Ms. Hao Shina's home on November 5, 2017. Ms. Hao was not home at the time. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a music player, and charms inscribed with words related to Falun Gong. The three officers then drove to Ms. Hao's store and arrested her. The officers videotaped her on the way to the police station. When they told her to sign paperwork, she refused to cooperate. She was released after her family was extorted out of 2,000 yuan.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Yumin on Wanted List

About 10 officers from the Laishui Police Department and the Laishui Town Police Station broke into Ms. Liu Yumin's home and ransacked it on September 20, 2017. They videotaped the process. They confiscated an all-in-one computer, a cutter, an ink-jet printer, a laser printer, a notebook computer, Falun Gong books, three gold rings, her daughter's belongings, and 17,000 yuan in cash, with a cumulative value of about 60,000 yuan.

Ms. Liu escaped. Her whereabouts are unknown. People are now staked out near her home. Her family members' phones are monitored. She is on a wanted list of the Laishui County Police Department.

8. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Chunhua Detained

Ms. Li Chunhua, 64, was reported by a plainclothes officer when she handed a person a Falun Gong booklet on the afternoon of December 11, 2017. She was arrested and held in a detention center for 15 days.

Ms. Xie Xinlian was arrested by officers from the Jiangjin District Domestic Security Division. Her whereabouts are unknown.
