Additional Persecution News from China – September 23, 2017 (25 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 17 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 were illegally arrested.

Ms. Zuo Yali was arrested on September 21, 2017.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Sanmei and Mr. Shi Detained

Ms. Sanmei and her husband Mr. Shi, both in their 70s, were arrested by officers from the Xicheng Police Department and Fuwai Police Station on August 25, 2017. The police ransacked their home. They were taken to the Xicheng Detention Center.

3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Huiming Arrested

Ms. Zhang Huiming was arrested by officers from the Shuangqiaozi Police Station on August 27, 2017. She was taken to the Chengdu Detention Center.

4. [Jintang County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Fan Mingkai's Sentence Upheld

Mr. Fan Mingkai was sentenced to a two year prison term by the Jintang County Court in May 2017. He appealed and his sentence was upheld by the Chengdu Intermediate Court in September.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Dongmei and Mr. Zhao Jinshan Arrested

Ms. Wang Dongmei was arrested by local police officers on September 15, 2017. The police confiscated informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books.

Mr. Zhao Jinshan was arrested on September 17, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

6. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Meng Xiangbiao and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Meng Xiangbiao and his wife were arrested and their home was ransacked by local officers on September 21, 2017.

7. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shumin and Ms. Wang Yuying Detained

Ms. Zhang Shumin and Ms. Wang Yuying were arrested by officers from the Laizhou City Domestic Security Division on September 21, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to the Yantai City Detention Center.

8. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Jimei and Ms. Chen Xiumei Detained

Ms. Xu Jimei and Ms. Chen Xiumei were arrested by officers from the Guan County Court on September 21, 2017. They were taken to the Liaocheng Detention Center.

9. [Pingding County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Wang Qiaolan Sentenced

Ms. Wang Qiaolan was sentenced to a six year prison term by the Pingding County Court on September 22, 2017. Her family appealed.

10. [Huiyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Fang Detained

Ms. Wang Fang was arrested by officers from the Shatian Police Station, Danshui District, in April 2017. She is being held in the Shatian Detention Center.

11. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Tao Zailan and Mr. Gu Chao Detained

Ms. Tao Zailan and Mr. Gu Chao were arrested by officers from the Yongyang Town Police Station on September 18, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are currently held at Nanjing Detention Center.

12. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiuhua was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from Qixia District 610 Office and Yaohuamen Police Station on September 20, 2017.

13. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhong Xicai and Mr. Chen Yongchuan Arrested

Ms. Zhong Xicai and her husband Mr. Chen Yongchuan were arrested by officers from Zhewang. Mr. Chen was released because he failed the physical examination.

14. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Kong Aiping Persecuted to Death

Ms. Kong Aiping, 64, was persecuted to death on September 14, 2017.

Ms. Kong was arrested by officers from the Zhoukou City Domestic Security Division on July 20, 2017. She was sentenced to a three year prison term with three years of probation. Serving the sentence outside of prison, she was subject to continuous harassment and threats. After enduring persecutions, she became severely emaciated.

Ms. Liang Yuhua was recently arrested by the police.

16. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Lianghao and Ms. Zhang Hong Arrested

Mr. Wang Lianghao and Ms. Zhang Hong were arrested in Yanji City, Jilin Province on September 14, 2017, for mailing letters with information about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their three-year-old child was with them.

17. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Guo Jindan Detained

Ms. Guo Jindan is being held in the Sanzhigou No. 1 Detention Center in Dongxihu District.

18. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Nine Practitioners Sentenced

Nine practitioners, including Mr. Liu Renqiu, Mr. Sheng Jie, Ms. Wang Hongyu, Mr. Gu Shuchun, Ms. Jin Shuyue, Ms. Wang Jinrong, and Mr, Yu Yongfu, were arrested on June 28, 2016.

From January 17 to 19, 2017, they were tried by the Lushun Court. As of date, Ms. Jin was sentenced to a one-and-a-half-year prison term, Ms. Wang Jinrong to a one-year-and-four-month term, and Mr. Yu to a one-year-and-three-month term. Mr. Liu and Ms. Wang Hongyu were tried again on September 28.

19. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Fang Arrested

Ms. Liu Fang was arrested and taken to the Gongnong Police Station on September 20, 2017.

20. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Jimin Detained

Mr. Han Jimin, in his 50s, was arrested by plainclothes officers on September 20, 2017. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, and equipment for making the materials. He is being held at a local detention center.

Ms. Jiang Chunyan was arrested by officers from the Beiquan Police Station on September 20, 2017. She was taken to a brainwashing center.

22. [Chongqing] Ms. Lai Henghui's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Lai Henghui and her non-practitioner husband were arrested by officers on September 20, 2017. Her husband was released, and Ms. Lai's whereabouts are unknown.

23. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Shaozhi Arrested

Mr. Li Shaozhi was arrested at home by officers from Harbin City on September 22, 2017.

Ms. Qu Guizhen was arrested by officers from the Bin County Police Department and Chang'an Police Station on September 21, 2017. She was taken to Harbin City for detention.

Ms. Pang Zhongyan was arrested by local officers on September 17, 2017.
