(Minghui.org) On her way to visit her father in the hospital on March 12, Ms. Ren Xiuqin, in her 50s, stopped by a supermarket to shop. Two police officers arrested her without showing their identification.
This was her fourth arrest. When she was arrested in 2006, 2008, and 2012, the police tortured her to try to force her to abandon her belief of Falun Gong.
Ms. Ren's home was ransacked afterwards. The police seized 40 copies of Shen Yun DVDs, a dozen DVDs that contained software to circumvent China's Internet firewall, and Falun Gong books. She was taken to the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center the next day.
Knowing that Ms. Ren was beaten, subjected to brainwashing, and locked in a metal cage when she was detained previously, her husband and daughter are worried about what she will face this time.
Locked in a Cage
Prior to the 2008 Olympics, about ten police officers arrested her at home at 1 a.m. on March 23, then locked her in a metal cage at the police station.
They interrogated her on March 26 and tried to force her to sign a document to renounce her belief in Falun Gong.

Severely Beaten and Subjected to Brainwashing
On the night of July 7, 2006, Ms. Ren was arrested by officers He Xichun, Li Meng, and Wang Dali from the Hushitai Police Station for distributing information about the persecution.
Officer Wang slapped her twice and dragged her into the police car. They handcuffed her to a steel bed in the police station.
During the interrogation on July 8, officers Li Meng and He Xichun beat her, switching to rubber batons when their hands got tired. Afterwards, she was bruised all over and her thumb was numb.

They tried to force her to give them information about other practitioners. Officer Wang tried to force her to sign off on a list of seized items. She told the police the facts about the persecution. Officer Li kept slapping her in an attempt to shut her up.
Wang Zhenbo (former chief of the Hushitai Police Station) ordered officers to take her to the notorious Zhangshi Brainwashing Center. The center director gave orders that she be subjected to brainwashing all day long. Agents from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee tried to force her to sell out other practitioners, and the Domestic Security agents interrogated her from time to time.
She was detained in the brainwashing center for 23 days.
