Additional Persecution News from China – March 9, 2015 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 23 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Yang Xiaochuan Sentenced

Mr. Yang Xiaochuan was sentenced to five years in prison on March 5, 2015.

2. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhu Haihang and Three Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhu Haihang, his elder sister Ms. Zhu Haiyan, Mr. Chen Shuiqing, and Ms. Huang Liyu were watching the Global Chinese New Year Spectacular – 2015 Shen Yun Performing Arts DVD in a barber shop Mr. Zhu operates. Suddenly, more than 20 officers from the Chikan District 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the Shawan Police Station barged into the shop and arrested them. The officers took Mr. Zhu's computer, copies of Zhuan Falun, and other Falun Dafa books. Subsequently, they went to Mr. Chen's home and also ransacked his place.

3. [Baiyin City, Gansu Province] Mr. Liao Anan and Three Other Practitioners Sentenced

The Baiyin City Court sentenced Mr. Chen Zhongxuan to six years in prison, Mr. Liao Anan five years, Ms. Yang Wenxiu four years, and Ms. Li Qiaolian three years. The court did not notify their families about the trial. Afterwards, the practitioners were taken directly to prison.

4. [Huailai County, Hebei Province] Mr. Xu Quanrong and Mr. Li Shengzhong Arrested

Mr. Xu Quanrong and Mr. Li Shengzhong from Guanzhuang Village, Xiaonanxinbao Town, Huailai County were arrested in their homes on the morning of March 7, 2015.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Manhong Detained

Ms. Zhao Manhong was arrested and taken to the Caozhuangzi Detention Center in Tianjin.

6. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Dong Guiwen Arrested

Ms. Dong Guiwen was arrested by two police officers on March 8, 2015 while working on her farmland.

7. [Zhongwei City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Mr. Pan Yongquan and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Pan Yongquan, Ms. Jing Yuling, and Ms. Wang Shunqin from Zhongwei City were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division, Zhongwei City Police Department for distributing desk calendars containing information about Falun Gong. They were held in the Zhongwei Detention Center. Mr. Pan was released on bail. Ms. Jing and Ms. Wang were released on February 4, 2015 after the domestic security police extorted 3,000 yuan from each of them.

Ms. Jing and Ms. Wang are employees of the Zhongwei City Hospital. They were told that they had to write the guarantee statement before they could return to work.

8. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Elderly Ms. Gu Zhenyu Arrested

Ms. Gu Zhenyu, in her 70s, from Fuyang City, Anhui Province was arrested in Hefei City, Anhui Province in early March 2015.

9. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Guoqin and Mr. You Hai Arrested

Ms. Yang Guoqin and Mr. You Hai were arrested at the Lingyuan Train Station on the morning of March 5, 2015. That afternoon, the train station police searched their homes. Mr. You has been released. Ms. Yang was taken to the Xidayingzi Town Detention Center, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province.

10. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Shulian Taken to Shijiazhuang Women's Prison

Ms. Zhang Shulian from Longhua County was arrested and taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison on March 6, 2015 by the director of the Longhua County Judicial Bureau in Chengde City and officials from the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

11. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Bai Yi and Ms. Zhao Liai Sentenced to Prison

The Shuimogou District Court announced that Ms. Bai Yi was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison, and Ms. Zhao Liai to five years.

12. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Guoqin Arrested

Ms. Yang Guoqin from Lingyuan City was waiting to board the train at the Lingyuan Train Station on the morning of March 5, 2015. She was taken aside for a body search after staff at the train station did a routine check on her ID. She was arrested after the officers found Falun Gong materials from her. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Xidayingzi Detention Center, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province.

13. [Tianjin] Numerous Practitioners Arrested

Five to six police officers broke into Aunt Zhao's home and ransacked the place on the morning of March 2, 2015. They arrested Ms. Zhao and three other practitioners who were in her home at that time. All four practitioners were taken to the Ganggu Drug Rehabilitation Center. The three practitioners were released first. Later, Ms. Zhao was also released due to symptoms of high blood pressure.

It was verified that young Mr. Gao and Ms. Lu, Ms. Wang Huizhen, and Ms. Song Huichan, all from the Tanggu area, were also arrested and taken to the Ganggu Drug Rehabilitation Center that day. Ms. Wang was brought home that night by her son as she developed symptoms of severe illness.

14. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Peng Changguo Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Peng Changguo was sentenced to three years in prison at the end January 2015.

15. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhou Lanxiang Arrested

Ms. Zhou Lanxiang from Yueyang City was reported to the police while she was talking to people about Falun Gong on February 5, 2015. She was arrested and taken to the Hubin Detention Center in Yueyang City.
