Additional Persecution News from China – May 4, 2014 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 13 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Ji Xiaodong Sentenced

Mr. Ji Xiaodong was sentenced to a seven-year prison term by the Songshan District Procuratorate and Court in Chifeng City in April 2014.

2. [Jiansanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ding Huijun Arrested

Ms. Ding Huijun was arrested and taken to the Jiansanjiang City Brainwashing Center on March 21, 2014. She was recently arrested again and taken to the Keshan Farm Nursing Home.

Mr. Ma Zhenyu was arrested on his way to Shanghai in a high-speed railway car on the morning of May 3, 2014. His whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Wang Fengyuan was arrested by Liu Haizhi from the Domestic Security Division of the Yi County Police Department and other officers on the morning of May 3, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at a bus station.

5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Tiegang Arrested

Mr. Li Tiegang was recently arrested in Guangzhou City.

6. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Yuxian, Ms. Ma Hongjiao, and Ms. Dong were arrested and taken to the Jilin City Detention Center by officers from the Hadawan Police Station on April 18, 2014. They were held for 15 days and then arrested again on May 3, 2014.

7. [Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhong Zhaoqin Detained

Ms. Zhong Zhaoqin has been held for more than 15 days by Na Yunlong, officer of the No. 1 Ward of Heilongjiang Hulan District Prison, for not renouncing Falun Gong.

8. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Cao Fang Detained

Ms. Cao Fang was arrested by officers from the Xinhualu Police Station and Jinchuan Police Station on the afternoon of May 2, 2014, for talking to people in Jinchuan Park about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was later transferred to the Jinchang City Detention Center.

9. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Hu Shuiying and Another Practitioner Detained

Ms. Hu Shuiying and another practitioner were arrested by plainclothes officers on May 3, 2014, for distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in the vicinity of Bayi Park. They are being held at the Gongyuan Police Station in Nanchang City.

10. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Abused in Detention

Ms. Liu Ruping was brutally force-fed for 24 days and beaten by inmates in May 2012 for holding a hunger strike to protest being incarcerated in Shandong Prison.

Mr. Tang Peiwu and Mr. Wang Zhan were under strict management on November 28, 2013, for having Falun Gong lectures in their possession.

Ms. Liu was also under strict management after being framed. She was forced to sit on a tiny stool, prohibited from shopping for groceries in the prison shop, and not allowed to see her family. The prison officers drew a circle on the ground and restricted her activities to the designated area. During the strict management period she was beaten and injured.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Fang Suzhen and Ms. Yue Hongying Arrested

Ms. Fang Suzhen and Ms. Yue Hongying, two elderly practitioners in Shanghai, were reported to the police on January 16, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were later arrested at home by officer Wang Jue and others from the 610 Office and their homes were ransacked.

12. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Weizhong Detained

Mr. Huang Weizhong was arrested at home by officers from the local police station and the Residential Committee of Denggang Sub-District in the Haizhu District on the morning of April 18, 2014. The police ransacked his home. Mr. Huang is being held at the Haizhu District Detention Center.

13. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Mao Rui's Home Ransacked

Mr. Mao Rui's home was ransacked by officers from the Xian City Police Department and Baoji Jintai Police Station on the evening of May 1, 2014. They confiscated two pictures of Master Li Hongzhi, Falun Gong books, three printers, an MP4 player, and Falun Gong materials.

14. [Qichun County, Hubei Province] Mr. Hu Jie Detained

Mr. Hu Jie is being held at the Qichun County Detention Center.

15, [Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Xu Jianping and Ms. Zhao Gaiping Detained

Ms. Xu Jianping and Ms. Zhao Gaiping were arrested by officers from the local Railway Police Station on April 30, 2014. Their homes were ransacked and they are being held at the Xinzhou City Detention Center.
