1. [Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province] Practitioner Mr. Wu Feixing Taken into Custody; His Wife Tragically Dies
On May 21, 2007, the police unlawfully took Mr. Wu Feixing, a practitioner from Taizhou City in Zhejiang Province, into custody. His wife started suffering from insomnia and depression after that. She tried to commit suicide by swallowing gold, but she was rescued. At around 5:00 a.m. on the morning of June 5, she drank almost 2 liters of liquor with a high alcohol content and was sent to the hospital. On June 18, she died after rescue efforts failed. Her 73-year-old mother and 14-year-old son are living alone and supporting each other.
2. [Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Ms. Xie Guihua under Persecution
On July 6, 2007, Ms. Xie Guihua, a practitioner from Mingyang Town in Zhuanghe City, was selling fruit in Dacui Village, Mingyang Town. She gave a card with favorable words about Falun Gong printed on it to a customer. After the customer turned her in to the police, she was taken into custody at the Bianfang Police Station in the Zoujiaquan area. The police brutally beat her. Ms. Xie is being unlawfully held at the Zhuanghe Detention Center.
Officers from the Mingyang Town Police Station have been to Ms. Xie Guihua's home numerous times to harass her. Qiao Xiliang (male), director of the police station, is actively engaged in the persecution of practitioners.

3. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Practitioner Mr. Liao Jiangcheng Unlawfully Detained
At around 2:00 p.m. on July 10, 2007, Mr. Liao Jiangcheng, a practitioner from Chenzhou City in Hunan Province, was clarifying the truth on a bus headed for the Xiameiqiao area. Plainclothes police and residential committee officials secretly took pictures of him. They followed him and called in more officers from the Xiameiqiao Police Station. A large crowd of officers arrived. They beat Mr. Liao and took him and a fellow villager into custody. The police wrapped clothes around his head and threw him into the police vehicle. The officers then called Mr. Liao's wife from his cell phone. Ten minutes later, the police were able to arrest Mr. Liao's wife, and they took her to the Xiaomeiqiao Police Station as well. The officers interrogated Mr. Liao and his wife separately. After nine hours of unlawful interrogation, detention, and an extortion of 20,000 yuan, the authorities released Mr. Liao's wife. Mr. Liao Jiangcheng remains in custody at the No. 1 Detention Center in Chenzhou City, where he is on hunger strike. His fellow villager was held in custody for three days.

5. [Beijing] Practitioners Ms. Chen Xiumin and Ms. Zhang Xiuping Taken into Custody
At noon on June 20, 2007, state security officers from Daxing District in Beijing broke into the homes of Ms. Chen Xiumin and Ms. Zhang Xiuping in the Daxinzhuang area of Lixian Town. The police took the two practitioners into custody while they were taking a lunch break. It has been learned that the two practitioners are being held at the Dawa Detention Center, where many other practitioners are also being held.
6. [Luotian County, Hubei Province] Practitioner Ms. Li Ping Taken into Custody Again
On July 2, 2007, Mr Yu, a taxi driver in Luotian County who is not a practitioner, suddenly went missing. After his family's extensive inquiries, they found out that the police had secretly charged him with distributing truth-clarifying materials. On July 4, officers from the Political Security Section, led by Wang Xueping (male), arrived at practitioner Ms. Li Ping's store and took her into custody. Mr. Yu is Ms. Li Ping's brother-in-law. The police claimed that they received reports that Mr. Yu's truth-clarifying materials were from Ms. Li Ping. The police cannot produce any evidence, yet they still refused to release Mr. Yu or Ms. Li.
Since the persecution of Falun Gong started, the police have taken Ms. Li Ping into custody numerous times and unlawfully searched her store many times.

7. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Additional Information on Practitioners Taken into Custody
On June 29, 2007, Ms. Zhang Puyuan and her husband Mr. Chen were also taken into custody along with Ms. Feng Guirong. Ms. Zhang, and Mr. Chen. They were at Ms. Zhang's elder sister's home when the police took them away.
8. [Ganluo County, Sichuan Province] Information on the Persecution of Some Practitioners
Between the start of the persecution and 2001, several practitioners' homes in Ganluo County were unlawfully searched. The police took away Falun Dafa books, video tapes of Fa-lectures, and portraits of the founder of Falun Gong. Five practitioners were taken into custody twice ranging from 28 days to 120 days. Each time, an unlawful fine in the range of 2,000 to 6,000 yuan was levied. The police collected over 41,000 yuan from several practitioners' families.

On the evening of July 6, 2007, Ms. Zhang Guifang and her son Mr. Wang Jianjun from Jinfeng District in Yinchuan City were followed by the police and members of the 610 Office. The police took the two practitioners to the Dongjie Police Station in Jinfeng District and held them there for a night. Yang Zhixiang (male), head of the state security division, and other officers interrogated Ms. Zhang and her son. They also searched Ms. Zhang's home. Mr. Wang Jianjun was released the following day. Ms. Zhang Guifang has been transferred to the Yinchuan Detention Center.

10. [Shandong Province] Laixi City 610 Office and Police Persecute Practitioners Under the Excuse of Inspecting Closed-Circuit TVs
Recently, the Laixi City 610 Office and the city's police force, in association with closed-circuit television station staff, took the excuse of inspecting closed-circuit televisions in various townships and towns and forced their way into practitioners' homes. They were looking for satellite dishes capable of receiving news banned by the government. On July 12, the police started harassing practitioners in Dianbu Town.
11. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Liu Ying Taken into Custody
On July 9, 2007, Ms. Liu Ying, a practitioner from Jilin City, was clarifying the truth to her customers in the hair salon she operates. The police came and took her away. Ms. Liu's whereabouts are unknown.
12. [Hebei Province] Brainwashing Sessions Held in the Langfang Area Again
Since May 2007, 610 Offices in the Langfang area in Hebei Province have forcibly taken practitioners from various counties to the Langfang Brainwashing Center. The Gu'an County 610 Office and State Security Division coordinated police stations in subordinate townships and towns and sent officers to practitioners' homes to harass them. They visited practitioners according to a list they had compiled throughout the years one by one and attempted to coerce practitioners to write guarantee statements again. If a practitioner refused, he or she was taken to the Langfang Brainwashing Center for two months of intensive brainwashing. If the practitioner still refused to give up practicing, he or she would be sentenced to prison. On June 20, officers from the Political Security Section in Gu'an County and those from the Lirangdian Township Police Station unlawfully searched practitioner Ms. Zhao Qing's home. They confiscated a personal computer, a cassette recorder, and Falun Dafa books and Ms. Zhao Qing was taken to the Langfang Brainwashing Center. On July 9, officers from the Gu'an County Police Security Section and from the Qugou Township Police Station suddenly broke into the homes of Ms. Wang Suxia and Ms. Ma Fenglin. The officers searched the homes and took the two practitioners to the Langfang Detention Center, which was designated for those held in custody on criminal charges. On July 9, Ms. Ma Fenglin was sent to the Langfang Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Wang Hongfen, a practitioner from the Qianfoshan area in Lixia District, Jinan City, was turned in to the police while clarifying the truth in Huaiyin District on July 10, 2007. Police initially took her into custody at the Daodejie Police Station in Jinan City. Officers from the police station were sent out to search her home.

14. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Practitioners from a Practice Site in Nanxianqiu Village Taken into Custody
At 11:00 p.m. on July 10, 2007, state security police in Xinji City arrived in seven vehicles at a Falun Gong practitioner's home. The practitioners were doing Falun Gong exercises. The police ransacked the home, overturned beds, took possession of 30,000 yuan in cash, and confiscated a desktop computer, two MP3 players, a DVD player, three watches, four copies of Minghui Weekly, and other items. Practitioners Ms. Meng Hui, Ms. Deng Xiaoren, Ms. Xiaoxin (surname unknown), Ms. Jinglan (surname unknown), Xiaoci (gender and surname unknown), Ms. Shi Wenfang, Mr. Yun Gang and two other people were taken away by the police.

15. [Chongqing] Practitioner Ms. Li Sufang Unlawfully Arrested
Ms. Li Shifang, 67, is a practitioner working at the Songzao Coal Mine in Anwen Town, Chongqing. At around 9:00 a.m. on June 16, 2007, the police unlawfully arrested her at her home. Her children were not at home. Only a couple of days later, her children learned from the neighbors that Ms. Li was forcibly taken away by three police officers. A dozen or so days later, her youngest daughter received a letter mailed from the Maojiashan Women's Forced Labor Center in Chongqing from Ms. Li.
16. [Beijing] Police Take a Practitioner into Custody
On around July 10, 2007, police forcibly took a 41-year-old female practitioner from Hanzhuang Village in Daxingzhuang Town, Pinggu District away from her workplace back to her home. Zhang Shunru (male), a village Party official, helped the police find Falun Dafa books in the practitioner's home. The practitioner was arrested and has not returned. The practitioner's husband is Zhang Yiqiang.
17. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Practitioner Mr. Tang Xuejun Taken into Custody in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province
Mr. Tang Xuejun, a practitioner from Yiyang City in Hunan Province, is teaching high school classes at the Wenwu School in Liuxiang Town, Doumen District in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. On the evening of July 11, 2007, he was to leave for his hometown for summer vacation, but the local police took him into custody. He is hundreds of miles away from his family.
18. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang] Supplementary Information on the Persecution of Three Practitioners at No. 142 Regiment
Between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on May 14, 2007, the police simultaneously searched the homes of practitioners Ms. Zhang Guilan, Ms. Yue Xiuqin, and Ms. Yan Yixue in the No. 142 Regiment. The twenty or so police officers were led by Cao Cundong (male) of the State Security Sub-Division of the Shihezi City Police Department and Zhao Zhijiang (male), director of the No. 142 Regiment Police Station. The police confiscated MP3 players among other items. Ms. Zhang Guilan was taken into custody. She remains in custody at the Shihezi No. 1 Detention Center. Another practitioner Hong Jun (gender unknown) has also been unlawfully held in custody.
Practitioner Ms. Yue Xiuqin's family has been shattered as a result of the persecution. Her parents passed away, her husband divorced her, and she was forced to give up her job.
