To cover it's increasingly worsening human rights record, Jiang Zemin's regime propagandized to the world that "It is the best period of human rights in China nowadays" and "The biggest human rights for the 1.2 billion Chinese is the right to survive". So let us take a look at what kinds of rights of survival the legal Chinese citizens have under the rule of Jiang Zemin's regime. Two Dafa practitioners, Zhang Chunmin and Zhang Chunying are brother and sister. The following are real stories of what they met with for practicing Falun Dafa.
"It is the unified arrangement by Qiaodong District Government"
The younger sister, Zhang Chunying, 26 years old with a college degree, was a teacher at the Number 40 high school in Shijiazhuang City. She used to live in North Building Apt 1-101 of Grease Company Dorm on Shengli North Street in Shijiazhuang City. In July, 2000, refusing to give up the rights of freedom of belief and the rights to appeal granted by the Constitution, she refused to write the warrant of "No cultivating Dafa, no appeal". Therefore, the school authorities illegally detained her for eight days with the reason "It is the unified arrangement by Qiaodong District Government". Later, they deducted her salary and premium, and gave her only RMB400 Yuan for living expenses".
Being detained after appealing; "Appeal to whomever you would like. I am not scared"
To appeal for all kinds of unjustified treatment, Zhang Chunying went to Beijing to appeal. By refusing to cooperate with the persecution, she was severely beaten in the detention center and then was illegally detained by the Shengli North Street Police Station for fifteen days.
By the end of November 2000, the school labor union organized activities. Excerpt for her, all of the faculties received keepsakes. To safeguard her rights, she asked the principal, "I paid my membership fee on time. Why was my membership not recognized?" The principal replied, "Because you practice Falun Gong, starting from next month, we may not deduct your membership fee from your payroll". She made a statement to appeal to the relevant department for the issue. The principal said in the knowledge that he had a strong backing, "Appeal to whomever you want. I am not scared".
The "Outstanding Instructor" was sentenced to reform through labor after legal appealing
At the beginning of December, she went to Beijing to appeal for validating Data. The Shengli North Street Police Station in Shijiazhuang City illegally detained her, then illegally sentenced her to reform through labor for two years. The policeman in charge of the case was Wu Yunlong. About three months later, at the end of February, 2001, Zhang Chunying's elder sister asked the police station about her situation, the police station dared not tell the truth, and just claimed she was still under detention. Her elder sister had no knowledge that Zhang Chunyin was in labor camps until the middle of March. The sentence notice has never sent to the family members.
Zhang Chunying worked diligently at the school and was dedicated to teaching. As an excellent teacher, she was awarded as an "Outstanding Instructor". Her students were awarded at city level and province level competitions. Such a good teacher was illegally sentenced to a labor camp for two years because of insisting on her belief and legally appealing, even without the necessary legal procedure. Zhang Chunying's mother suffered from a heart attack and cerebral thrombosis. After knowing the situation, she was so worried that her condition took an unfavorable turn.
Lost Source of Income for Telling the Truth
Zhang Chunmin, 32, is the older brother. He holds an associate degree and is an employee at the Grease Company of Shijiazhuang City. He lives in the North Building 1-102, Youzhi Company Dorm, North Shengli Street, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, China. On March 12, 2000, during the two Conferences in Beijing, he went to Beijing to appeal to the representatives of the People's Congress. He was arrested and detained in the Office of Shijiazhuang City in Beijing. There he was handcuffed to the stove, and suffered coldness for a day. A young and fairly overweight police officer took away his RMB 260 yuan, without any receipt or documentation. Later he was brought back to Shijiazhuang, at the North Shengli Street Police Station of Qiaodong District. Out of fear for the "relative" policy from Jiang's regime, his employer took him out of the police station on March 15th and forced him to resign, which he did. Later the North Shengli Street Police Station illegally detained him for 15 days.
On May 11th, he again went to Beijing to appeal, an action fully complying with his constitutional rights. He was arrested, and the policeman Tao Banghe from the North Shengli Street Police Station handcuffed him, continuously slapping his face and punching his lower abdomen. Then he was sent to the Fourth Group of the Qiaodong District Criminal Police, where an inmate and a policeman savagely beat him. They slapped his face and beat him with batons. After four days in the criminal police division, he was detained illegally for another 15 days.
"This is the unified arrangement from above. I won't be scared no matter where you sue me."
After his family moved to the Xinhua District, the Shigang Avenue Police Station harassed them and asked them to move. Such an ungrounded request was refused. On the evening of June 30th, policeman Zhao Zhanlin from the Xinhua District Shigang Avenue Police Station and several security watchers tricked him, his wife, and their 3-year-old child to the police station, without any legal procedure. The political instructor Wang Yudong claimed: "This is the unified arrangement from above, I won't be scared no matter where you sue me." Even illegally detaining innocent civilians is "according to the above", where can the "human rights" be talked about. The couple began a hunger strike and was released after 3 days.
"Coercion cannot change people's heart." The repeated unconstitutional crackdown and violent abuse of power only lead people to clearly see the evil nature of Jiang's regime. Falun Gong practitioners' determination in practicing the cultivation and exposing the evil can only be stronger in the tribulations and purer in the persecution. People with kindness in their heart will make the right choice after knowing the truth.
