Dear Mr. Manley,

Please find enclosed a copy of correspondence from my constituent, Mrs. LingDi Zhang, which refers to the abuse of human rights by the People's Republic of China against a distinguished Canadian citizen, who, it is alleged, has been severely tortured and sent to a labour camp without trial.

I understand that our embassy is sending a diplomatic note to the Chinese authorities. I would appreciate being updated about your ongoing efforts to secure the return to Canada of Mr. Kun Lun Zhang.
