Falun Gong Practitioners Suffer Brutal Persecution in Huanglou Township, Qinzhou City

1) Mojia Village, Huanglou Township

Chen Xueqian, male, 53 years old, and his wife Liu Jianmei went to appeal on July 20, 1999. After being arrested and returned home, the couple was badly beaten and imposed a fine of 5,800 RMB (equivalent to six months' salary). At the beginning of the New Year, Chen went to Beijing to appeal, and again was arrested and returned to the township; more than twenty people battered him. Cold water was poured onto his head in icy weather, and his wife was forced to watch. Liu was shocked into unconsciousness with spittle leaking from her mouth. Chen was detained by the township authority after being released by police, and was fined another 5,000 RMB. On September 8, he was under arrest for spreading materials that tell the public the truth. After being detained and tortured by police for a month in a detention center, he was sent back home and again detained by the township local police station. The policemen there badly beat his face and head with a wooden stick the size of an arm. His face was so badly injured that he could not even be recognized. He was then detained for over 40 days. On November 23, Chen was sentenced three years at Changle Labor Camp in Weifang City. When his wife questioned the sentencing, the township police station replied, "He was stubborn and without money to pay the fine, so we sent him to a labor camp."

Hao Xijun, male, went to appeal on July 20, 1999. After arrested and sent back, he was badly beaten and was imposed a fine. At the beginning of the New Year, he went to Beijing to appeal. He was again arrested and sent back to the township office, he was battered by more than twenty people, paraded through the streets and exposed to the public. The authorities again detained him and imposed a fine. In September, he was under arrest for spreading materials of the truth to the public. After badly beaten in a detention center, he was released and closely watched by the township authorities.

Liu Peixia, female, went to Beijing to appeal on July 20 of last year. The township staff that took her back from the detention center broke her arm. The township authorities detain her during any sensitive time.

2) Liujiapo Village, Huanglou Township

Li Youxin, male, 24 years old, went to Beijing to appeal at the beginning of the New Year. After arrested and sent back to the township, he was badly beaten under detention and was imposed a fine of 4,000 RMB. All of his savings certificates were confiscated. In September, he was put under arrest for spreading materials that tell the truth to the public. He was badly beaten when detained, and protested the illegal and inhuman detention by bumping his head against the wall, followed by a seven day hunger strike. On October15, he and his mother went to Beijing to appeal again. Once again he was arrested and sent back to the township, he was hung from a tree for more than four hours. After suffering more than forty days of torture, he escaped, and nobody knows his whereabouts. His mother was also badly beaten, and is still detained by the township authorities now. His father Li Fahen was also beaten and forced to pay a 5,000 RMB fine. The authorities searched his house several times and broke down the front door.

3) Xiapo Village

Yan Xiurong, female, with her son Wang Aijun went to appeal on July 20, 1999. After being arrested, sent back, and badly beaten in the township, they were imposed a fine of 1,400 RMB. During the New Year's holiday, they were beaten up again under detention. After being released, they were tortured and under custody for several days in the township. On October 15 they went to Beijing to appeal. Arrested again and sent back to the township, they were battered into unconsciousness three times then wakened by cold water being poured onto their heads. Their backs to knees became black, and their faces were purple and swollen. They were imposed a fine of 5,000 RMB. Forty days later, they escaped. The authorities threatened the family members they would destroy their flower awning, confiscate the flowers and dismantle the house.

4) Pan Village, Huanglou Township

An Xiufang, female, Yu Fengcui, female, and Wang Chunlan, female, were all arrested on their way to appeal during the New Year's holiday. They were sent back, badly beaten, fined, and paraded through the streets for the public to see, then put under detention. After released, they were again detained and tortured in the township. On October 15, An Xiufang and Yu Fengcui went to Beijing to appeal. After being arrested again, sent back, and beaten in the township office, they were under detention for about 50 days. They finally escaped to an unknown destination.

Liu Jiafeng, female, was 60 years old. She was under detention for half month because of practicing Falun Gong at home in the past October. She has been under custody in the township office building ever since being released from the detention center.

5) Nanhuo Village, Huanglou Township

Yang Zhaolian, female, went to Beijing to appeal on October 15, and was arrested and returned to the township. After being badly beaten and kept in custody for 50 days, she was imposed a fine of 5,000 RMB. She escaped and her current situation is unknown.

Shan Hehua, female, was detained in the township during the New Year's holiday. After rejecting to write a statement of repentance, she was battered into losing control of her bladder, and was imposed a fine.

6) Luli Village, Huanglou Township

Wang Meiying, female, 66 years old, went to Beijing to appeal on October 15, 2000. After being arrested and sent back, she was beaten and has been under detention up to now. The authorities imposed a fine of 5,000 RMB, and demanded her two sons pay this fine she couldn't afford.

7) Chijia Village, Huanglou Township

Gong Jiankui, male, 43 years old, Wang Chuanying, female, 42 years old, and Gong Haiyan, female, 18 years old, were of the same family. They went to appeal on July 20, 1999. Arrested and sent back to the township, they were beaten and imposed a fine of 6,400 RMB. On New Years holidays, they were again under detention and beaten. After released, they were tortured and kept in custody in the township for half a month. In October, Gong Jiankui was kept in custody for no reason for nearly a week. His daughter was forced to leave home.

8) Caojai Village, Huanglou Township

Zhang Shouxiang, male, 37 years old, went to Beijing to appeal on the New Year's holidays. He was arrested, sent back to the township office, and battered by more than twenty people. His entire back was beaten until black and purple. He was paraded down the streets and exposed to the public. After released from the township office, he was under custody by the township police station for another month. The authorities badly beat his first and third elder brother who were not practitioners, and threatened to dismantle both of their houses. Even his non-practitioner brother-in-law did not get away from the torture. His face was bashed until black and blue, and he was forced to sign a debt bill of 2,000 RMB.

9) Xiaomasong Village, Huanglou Township

Hao Xifang, female, went to Beijing to appeal on July 20, 1999. After arrested and sent back to the township, she was beaten into unconsciousness for four to five days. Then the authorities imposed on her a fine of 2,000 Yuan RMB.

10) Xinzhuang Village

Wei Jianhua, female, 23 years old, went to Beijing to appeal on July 20, 1999. After arrested and sent back to the township, she was badly beaten and fined 2,000 RMB.

Immoral Creatures and Sinful Deeds

Under the direction of Li Xingan, the secretary of Chinese Communist Party (CPC) in Huanglou township, Wang Jiguan (local CPC secretary of politics and law), Dong Shaoguo (from the township militia), Zhang Yugang (from West Liuquhe Village), Zhang Yonghong (local police station chief), Li Shide (from the township militia), Gao Qixing (local police station chief), and Shi Ming (Fenghuangdian Village) etc. have been brutally persecuting Falun Gong practitioners and their relatives in Huanglou Township by means of beating, looting, and intimidating. They forced the detained practitioners to stand bare foot in snow, to suffer the freezing cold wearing only thin garments, to have cold water poured on their head, and to swallow Falun Gong books. Also, they introduced their evil experience, such as beating by hang, physical torture, long term arbitrary detention and other methods to surrounding townships.
