[China] More than One Hundred Practitioners form a Certain Province Appeal at Tiananmen Square

More than one hundred practitioners from a certain province agreed to go to Tian'anmen Square to validate Dafa. On December 2^nd they left their homes by bus, and headed for Beijing. At 10:00AM, December 3^rd, over a hundred practitioners ?with pairs of people holding banners - formed four lines in the center of Tiananmen Square. They opened all the banners simultaneously and presented a splendid sight. They were immediately brutally beaten by plain-clothes policemen. Dafa practitioners protected the Dafa banners from being taken away; some practitioners were beaten so hard that their mouths were all bloody. The plain-clothes police put a lot of effort in to putting the practitioners onto buses to bring them to Tian'anmen Police Station. At the police station, practitioners continued to raise the banners and the police beat practitioners viciously using their batons. A practitioner realized that he should stop the evil on his own initiative. He went up to a policeman to take away the baton. He found that the policeman did not have any strength and so he immediately took the baton away and threw it to the side; then, he took away the baton from another policeman. At this time, an evil policeman beat his head viciously from behind and the practitioner passed out right away. The military policeman standing on the side even could not bear to watch such a savage act. Later, the police transferred some Dafa practitioners to Changping, and some others were sent to the Yongwai Police Station of Chongwenmen Branch Police Department.

While riding the bus on the way to Yongwai Police Station, practitioners promoted Dafa to the police. A practitioner talked about how after the "Gang of four" (Cultural Revolution) was crushed, the head of the Beijing Police Department, Liu Wenqing, had committed suicide for fear of repercussions for his having persecuted righteous people during the "cultural revolution". Nobody had been able to help him. There were also 16 policeman who had been secretly taken to a remote location in Yunnan Province and executed. More than 10 army cadres had also been secretly executed.

The practitioners also pointed out that the policemen were being used by politics and that later no one would be able to help them, either. The practitioners also questioned them as to "why do you not listen to the words of the prime minister but instead follow Jiang Zemin? Doesn't the prime minister represent the government? You really cannot distinguish between good and bad, righteous and evil?" At that time, all the police on the bus were speechless and listened quietly: no one stopped the practitioner from promoting Dafa.

Once the practitioners arrived in Yongwai Police Station, one practitioner escaped, and this angered the police. They forced the practitioners to squat down under a table, but the practitioners did not comply and instead started to practice the exercises. Then, the police started to beat the practitioners. A practitioner chose to die rather than surrender and bashed his head against the wall. The righteousness of this practitioner frightened the police and they thus stopped their evil actions. Later, while the police were taking their lunch break, this practitioner successfully walked out of the police station.

[Changchun, Jilin Province] Many Middle-aged and Elderly Female Practitioners are Detained in Detention Centers in Changchun City

From insiders, it is reported that in late November, the Administration of Justice in Changchun City held an urgent meeting to further strengthen the suppression of Falun Gong, and especially to intensify the search for Dafa materials that reveal the truth: they said that the materials were downloaded from Minghui Net and that they should therefore make every effort to block the website. Recently, some proxy servers which had worked before were now also blocked, causing difficulties in accessing Minghui Net for those practitioners without proficient computer skills.

The Public Security Bureau of Changchun City, with the excuse of "safeguarding social stability" imposed an "Arrest Quota" on every police station. Many practitioners were arrested. In one tire factory alone, there were over 10 practitioners arrested because of this; most of them are female practitioners in their 50s. When arrested, they had been chatting in a practitioner's home. The practitioners are now detained in the Balipu Detention Center and no one is allowed to visit them. They are all reported to have two years of forced labor reeducation and are waiting for the approval from the Provincial Public Security Bureau. Practitioners who are 60 years old and older could probably be released if they were to write a promise to either quit practicing Falun Gong or to agree to conditions set by the police.

There are currently many Dafa practitioners detained in the detention centers in Changchun City: some are sentenced to forced labor, some are detained indefinitely, and most of them are middle-aged or elderly female practitioners. There are several female practitioners over 60 years old detained in Tiebei Detention Center. Several old women go to chat with their neighbors, but if they are suspected of talking about "Truthfulness, Benevolence and Forbearance"; they will be sentenced to two years of forced labor for "illegally gathering". This is the so-called "best period of human rights in China"!

In fact, many people in the Administration of Justice in Changchun City and their relatives are also Falun Dafa practitioners. From July 22^nd 1999 until today, countless people from the Judicial Department and the police have been detained, dismissed from work and sentenced to forced labor. The author learned that there were three policewomen who had been detained in a labor camp simply because they persist in cultivating Falun Dafa or had gone to Beijing to appeal. A prison guard at Gongzhuling Prison had helped at least ten criminal offenders obtain Dafa before July 22^nd: they became good people who do not return the same if beaten or cursed at, work hard, and do not get upset when criticized.

In the Chinese Detention Centers, Drug Rehabilitation Centers and Prisons, before Falun Dafa practitioners had been detained there, the atmosphere was where the strong truly preyed on the weak. Since Falun Dafa practitioners have been in and out of those places, the atmosphere in these detention centers and prisons has become better. Things like beating, abusing others, bullying the weak and fearing the strong, taking others' belongs by force, have all been noticeably reduced. Some prisoners have said that "Falun Gong really is a ray of sunshine in this hell!". [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Police Search Stationary Market to Catch Dafa Practitioners Purchasing Supplies Known from inside sources, the Public Security Bureau of Shijiazhuang City noticed materials revealing the truth about Dafa distributed widely throughout the city. In order to find the source of these materials, the Public Security Bureau sent policemen to markets that supply publishing materials and stationary. Policemen questioned people at the market who came to buy double-faced adhesive tapes (which were widely used to post Dafa materials). Many indications show that the police were searching the source where the materials were downloaded, copied, and/or printed. We hope all Dafa practitioners will use their wisdom from the Dafa and use more flexible methods to reveal the truth to people. Please pay attention to your own safety and don't be taken away by the evil beings. [Tianjin] More Tianjin Dafa Practitioners Step Forth to Validate the Dafa At the end of November, more than 40 practitioners from Tianjing Municipality went to appeal in Tiananmen Square. Among them, 27 practitioners were from Tangu District. Tianjin Municipal Party Secretary had ordered the leaders in Tangu District to be suspended from their jobs and to make a self-criticism and explanation. In addition, in Heping District, the police sent practitioners to labor re-education camps without any legal procedure. Anyone who went to Beijing to appeal was sentenced to one and a half-year of labor re-education; anyone who distributed Dafa materials in city was sentenced to one-year of labor re-education. In some districts of Tianjin, Dafa materials were distributed to almost every family three times. The truth of Dafa has entered the heart of more and more people. Encouraged by the actions carried out by those practitioners who are fearless and determined, more practitioners stepped forth from the "attachment of fear" and began to tell the truth to other people. From other sources, some practitioners who were sent to labor re-education camps had already fulfilled their terms. But if they keep on practicing Falun Gong and refuse to write a guarantee to renounce Falun Gong, their terms will be extended at least half a year. In the past, relatives could visit these practitioners in the labor camps, but now any visits to Dafa practitioners are forbidden. The practitioners in the labor camps were tortured, physically punished and deprived of sleep. [Beijing] A Short Story: "Practice Falun Gong or Not?" In Beijing, a general manager of a large company was a Falun Gong practitioner. After he had practiced Falun Gong, he became healthy and energetic. As a practitioner, he became more responsible concerning his duties and brought huge economic profits for the company. When he reached the age of retirement, the upper managers wanted him to stay and hired him as the general manager of that company to make more contributions. After Jiang Zemin and his followers began persecuting Falun Gong last year, he quitted practicing and his health gradually deteriorated. Later, his health was not suitable for the demanding management work on the general manager's position, so he had to leave the position and became a real retiree. This August, he was sick and checked into a hospital. In the first two weeks, the medical expenses were more than a few tens of thousand Yuan (an average monthly income in cosmopolitan area is merely 600 Yuan). Two weeks after coming out from the hospital, he was sick again and spent another a few tens of thousand Yuan. The leaders of his previous work unit came to visit him and said: "You used to practice Falun Gong and you were energetic and healthy. But now you not only are sick but also spend so much money. You'd better start to practice Falun Gong again after you go home." [Chongqing] Police Special Agents Pretend to Be Dafa Practitioners to Trap Genuine Practitioners Recently, the Public Security Bureau of Chongqing Municipality frequently deploys special agents to pretend to be Dafa practitioners or "transformed" practitioners so as to exchange their "experiences" with other genuine practitioners. They use this method to make appointments with genuine practitioners and arrest practitioners secretly. A few days ago, a special agent called oneself "Yanzi" (meaning swallow) was very active. Many practitioners were arrested secretly because of her. On November 22, a practitioner named Li Wenping (male) from Chongqing the 5^th Division of the 11^th Railroad Bureau was arrested by police after Li went to meet "Yanzi". These days, it was said that "Yanzi" went to Beijing to trap more practitioners there. October 30, Noon: Chongqing practitioners Chen Qi (male) and Zou Zhongmei (female) were arrested. On the same day, Zou Zhongmei's house was ransacked. Now they are detained in Dadukou detention center. Chongqing practitioner Zhang Chang'ai was sentenced to one year of labor re-education. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Autonomy Region] Some News From Xinjiang Urumqi City practitioner Luo Chuanmei, 44 years old, was a cashier of Food Processing Factory of General Military Hospital. In 1999, Luo was put under house arrest for two months for persevering in practicing Falun Gong. April of 2000, Luo was dismissed from the work unit. In May 2000, Luo went to Beijing twice to appeal. In August, Luo was arrested while distributing Dafa materials. Luo was sentenced to three years of labor reeducation. Liu Xinping, a supervising cadre of Hetian Buya Prison, was charged two years of labor reeducation because of appealing. News from Miquan City, Xinjiang said that three practitioners of that city had to leave their homes because they refused to attend a "Transformation Class" organized by the city government. They went back to their home one week later but were still under arrest by police. From other internal sources, two of the government clerks who were enforcing the "Transformation Class" were sick. We urge those who were following Jiang Zemin's evil instructions that all good deeds deserve a good reward and all evil deeds deserve a punishment. Please wake up, don't wait till autumn winds blow away the fallen leaves.

[Fukang City, Changji County, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] List of Dafa Practitioners under Persecution

Wang Junqiang, a 27-year-old male with a Bachelor's degree and former supervisor of the Mining Authorities of the Municipal Economy and Trade Commission, received numerous awards for outstanding accomplishments in his field. He was detained for over 70 days for going to Beijing to appeal and was sentenced to forced labor in May 2000, and was sent to Changji County Labor Camp, where he was inhumanly tortured.

His wife, Zhao Feng, holds an Associative degree, and was a cashier at the Municipal Farming Technology Station. She was detained twice for nearly 5 months for her persistence in practicing Dafa. She was forced, with little food or clothing, from her ransacked home where her 2 year old child remains. Her parents were extorted 3100 Yuan without being given a receipt (around US$ 375, while the average monthly income for their income bracket is only 600 Yuan). Her current whereabouts are unknown. Currently the temperature has dropped below freezing point, and it is difficult to imagine how she can survive.

Bai Wanxiu, female, 58 years old, is a retiree of the Municipal Food Bureau. She was detained twice and was extorted 450 Yuan for meal expenses. She disappeared suddenly in July 2000. Her whereabouts are unknown, and her fate is in suspense.

Bai Wanlin, female, 36, self-employed tailor. She was detained twice for a total of 90 days. She lost her business due to the persecution by evil government forces, and was forced away from her home several times left to wander around. After she was released from her second detention, she had to write an I-owe-you note for failing to submit 2000 Yuan (four months of average salary in China) in cash. She was not given any receipt whatsoever.

Zhang Guixin, female, 57 years old, retired worker. She was extorted 200 Yuan in exchange for cancellation of her first detention under criminal charges. During her second detention, she was forced to cook for everyone else, and was extorted 225 Yuan.

Fan Ping, female, 33 years old, formerly family member of the Municipal Scenery Administration Bureau employee. At first, her husband was only able to receive a monthly living expense of 200 Yuan because she practiced Falun Gong. Later, his employers threatened to fire him. Without any choice, he divorced her while she was still in the detention center. She was detained twice for a total of over 3 and half months. Upon release, she was forced to sign an I-owe-you note for failing to pay extorted cash. She was not given any receipt.

Xu Lanfang, female, 44 years old, a horticultural engineer for the municipal Chengguan Village Farming Technology Station, a Party member with middle school education, and she was formerly in charge of the assistance center of Falun Gong. Since July 22, 1999, she has not even had a single day of peace in her home. She was detained under criminal charges for over 100 days for going to Beijing in July 2000. She was extorted 3300 Yuan (about 6 and half months of average salary in China) in cash with no receipt. Currently she receives a monthly living expense of only 250 Yuan from work. She has two daughters who are both in college, and she lives a very hard life.

Yu Fengling, female, 57 years old, retiree from the municipal Colored Metal Bureau. She had withdrawn from the Party. She was detained twice, and was put under surveillance for a long time.

Evil people in Fukang who persecute Dafa practitioners:

1. Bai Huaizhong, party secretary of the Politics and Judiciary Committee of Fukang City, and his subordinates.

2. Wu Shimin, section chief of Political Safeguard Section of Fukang City; Wu Chengqiang, deputy section chief; and their subordinates.

Evil policeman Tu Zhiqiang

Tu Zhiqiang, male, around 40 years old, with a height of about 165 centimeters, dark skin, slightly overweight. He currently works at the Public Security Section of the Railway Bureau of Urumqi City. This person has taken cracking down on Falun Gong as stepping stone to his own personal gains and advancement. He has deployed various indecent schemes to entice, cheat, and pretend to be kind to Falun Gong practitioners. He succeeded in either sending practitioners to labor camps or dismissing them from work. He has lost the fundamental conscience of a human being, and committed tremendous sinful karma.

[Heilongjiang Province] Three Family Members in Custody for Practicing Dafa

Bai Shaohua, an employee of Huanan Forestry Bureau of Heilongjiang Province. He was placed into custody under false charges by evil forces in the forestry bureau for over 10 months since December 1999.

Bai Xiaojun, elder brother of Bai Shaohua, lecturer of North-East Normal University, editor of the university bulletin, Master's degree from the Department of Philosophy. In July this year, he was sentenced to forced labor for appealing. Currently he is in custody at Fenjin Detention Center of Changchun City.

Cao Qing, mother of Bai Shaohua, 65 years old, retired senior teacher of Dongfeng Primary School of Huanan Forestry Bureau of Heilongjiang Province. She is the teacher with the longest years in service in the region. Throughout her life, she has devoted herself to the cause of education, and has been widely acknowledged as a good person. In September 2000, she was detained for revealing the truth of Jiang Zemin's cracking down on Falun Gong, and is currently in custody in her hometown of Changzhou, Jiangsu Province.

[Guangzhou, Guangdong Province] Large-Scale Arrest of Dafa Practitioners

In recent days, a large-scale arrest of Dafa practitioners in Guangzhou is being carried out. Tianhe District in Guangzhou City has the highest number of practitioners being arrested. It is known that the crack down will intensify before the New Year's Day, especially on those who distribute materials revealing the truth. With regard to the delivery of large quantities of Dafa materials to each and every mailbox in residential areas of Guangzhou City, plain clothed police are following practitioners who distribute these materials in an attempt to catch "all of them in one round up". We hope practitioners pay attention to their safety when distributing materials. We also remind those policemen who follow Jiang Zemin in persecuting kind Dafa practitioners: Stop being the club in Jinag's hand, and avoid being buried with him.

[Beijing] Break Out of the Cage with a Pure and Righteous Mind

I was arrested on June 26 in Tiananmen Square, with over 30 other Dafa practitioners, while unfurling banners. When I was dragged out by police and beaten to the ground for the first time, I stood up and walked for a distance and then ran back to protect the banners with other practitioners. There was only one thought in my mind at that moment, "Today is when I am fulfilling my eternal promise to the Teacher to protect Dafa with my life; I can't voluntarily allow evil to take me away." When policemen dragged me to the door of police vehicle, I steadfastedly refused to get in, but they pulled me up and threw me into it. Upon arriving at the police station, I was taken to a large room, where 30 or so practitioners, including myself, were interrogated. While I was standing there, a man wearing a pair of black glasses said to the girl next to me, "Why not cultivate at home, what are you coming here for?" I immediately said to him with smile, "We came here to diligently practice genuine cultivation!"

We refused to give out our names and were taken to a corridor in the back of the police station. There were already over 200 Dafa practitioners there. Together, we recited Lunyu and Hongyinpoems by the Teacher. Seeing so many fellow practitioners arrested for validating Dafa, a thought came to my mind: If Teacher gives me a chance to walk away, I will walk away; if Teacher allows me to get out, I will definitely be able to get out. If I am able to get out, I will get onto the Internet to let people know about the magnificent action of over 30 Dafa practitioners unfurling banners on Tiananmen Square, so people around the world will know. I am supported by this thought in my heart, and there was never even a trace of fear in me. Facing one warden, police in the corridor, and five guards sitting next to each other at the gate, I walked out with dignity and honor. When I glanced at the guards stunned look, I knew that Master had restrained them. I walked out of the police station steadily and at ease, and crossed Tiananmen Square. When I reached Nanchizi, I couldn't help but pressing my palms and raising my head toward sky, "Thank you, our great benevolent Master."
