Five Practitioners in our County were unlawfully sent to labor camp for reform through labor:
They are:
Wang Houli, Male, 45 years old, Factory Worker at Huimin Textile Company;
Zhao Xuequn, Male, about 40 years old, Factory Worker at Huimin Textile Company;
Lu Peiyuan, Male, 35 years old, Dean of Experimental School;
Yan Hongjun, Male, 35 years old, Factory Worker at Huimin No. 2 Textile Company;
Zhou Hongsheng, Male, 38 years old, Farmer from Mazhou Village, Township of Huimin;.
The above five are practitioners having a firm belief in Falun Dafa. They reported the truth about Falun Dafa to the Citizen Complaint Processing Bureaus in their County and also in Beijing for which they were unlawfully arrested many times by the local police. The police have tried various means of torture them in order to destroy their spirit, damage their reputation, and paralyze their financial resources.
On July 10, 2000, Zhou Hongsheng was arrested by the County Police Department, for filing a complaint with the County Complaint Processing Bureau. He was detained in a facility in Yangxin on July 13. He held a hunger strike at the detention center to protest the violation of his personal freedom and constitutional rights, by the police. On the eighth day, he had a spasm of vomiting, and even expelled the feeding tubes installed by the police. The police showed no mercy at this, and continued beating him with rubber batons, electric batons, as well as punched and kicked him. Mr. Zhou was bruised all over his body; he had no visible undamaged skin.
Yan Hongjun was also detained several times. The last detention took place in September when the County Police Department put him in jail for interrogation. After Mr. Yan was in a cell, the police began to beat his chest, sides, and stomach with forceful blows.
The police also tried to financially cripple the practitioners by levying unlawful fines, ranging in size from several thousands to ten thousand Yuan. Zhou Hongsheng was fined ten thousand Yuan. The police also pressured them to sign guarantees that they would no longer practice Falun Gong. However, all the efforts of the police failed on these staunch practitioners of the orthodox Fa (law and principles.) Finally, the county legal authority sentenced all five to 3 years of "re-education through labor" at a camp in Zhibo Village for their activities in protecting Falun Dafa and telling the truth about the persecution against the practice. Their brave behavior awakened the conscience of kind-hearted people, and made a statement to the public that Jiang Zemin's cruel and evil policy against Falun Dafa is not popular.
Ma Guofu, Male, 38 years old, of Shima Village, Xiangzhai Township, is very firm in cultivating Falun Dafa. One day in 1999, a group of officials from the town government, along with police from the local station stormed his home and confiscated his TV set, tape recorder, electric fan, bicycles and other personal belongings. The officers of the so-called legal government ransacked a citizen's home in the broad daylight like a bunch of bandits, which severely damaged the image and the reputation of the communist party and the country.
Liu Fengmin, a construction worker from Li Village, was called to the police station to give some "information." He left the construction site for the police station around 4:00 p.m. on July 12, 2000, where he found that his wife, Ren Jianxin, had been picked up a day earlier from their village home. The clerk at the station asked them to wait in the office, but no one showed up to see them. At 9:00 p.m., the couple was going to rest when they heard sound of shouting and quarrelling outside, and then came several angry men smelling of booze. One of them was Zhang Deguang, the Party Deputy of the Police Station, followed by another man named Gao of the County Court and Gao Shuhua of the Township Procurator office. They shouted at the couple: "I don't believe that you two will still want to keep practicing after tonight." They divided into two pairs, taking turns beating up the practitioners. They took off their shoes and used the bottom of the shoes to slap the couple's faces. They asked Mr. Liu while still beating him: "Are you gonna quit practicing?" "No. I am not," replied Liu. Zhang Deguang was so mad at Liu's answer, he got a large steel needle and began to stab the underside of Liu's feet, and also all over his arms. Zhang also smashed drinking glasses over Liu's head, beat him with rubber baton, and then poured icy cold water on him. Later, Zhang grabbed an electric baton to shock Liu's hands and feet, groin area, chest and veins, and viciously punched and kicked him as well. They tortured Mr. Liu until one o'clock in the morning. He passed out five or six times, and every time he came to, he found the government officers were standing in front of him, including the Township Party Secretary Li Yong, Town Leader Pan Sen, and deputy Town Leader, Director of Birth Control Committee, etc. Liu understood that the torture conducted upon him was completely authorized by the officials.
While Mr. Liu was being beaten in the police station, his wife, Ren Jianxin, was taken out of the station and taken to the street to be beaten. The beating was brutal, and it did not stop until Ren tried to kill herself by ramming her head onto a utility pole. The couple was finally sent to a hospital when there was not a single part of their bodies that was not bruised or injured. The police confiscated the couple's two motorcycles from their home, and detained them for 37 days. The couple's experiences with the police and the government and party officials make every one of us wonder whether this country is being ruled by law.
Wang Xinzhong of Mahua Village of the Huimin Township, Male, 35 years old, was arrested several times for practicing Falun Dafa and telling the truth about it to the public. He was fined 3,000 Yuan. The government invented a new method of extortion by forcing Wang's family to pay 2,000 Yuan as a "guarantee fee" in April this year. The police beat him up badly in the detention facility. The police detained Wang again this July despite the pleading from his father who was of old age and diagnosed with heart disease. As a result, Wang's father could not withstand the ordeal, and passed away. Wang Xinzhong is in deep sorrow over his father's death.
