(Editors Note: Washington DC Practitioners sent out the following news release regarding the October 1st, National Day appeal at Tiananmen Square.) News Advisory: Falun Gong Practitioners to Hold Photo Exhibition at The Elipse, Between The White House and Constitution Avenue. In the morning of Oct. 1, while China celebrates its 51st National Day, over one thousand Falun Gong practitioners got arrested on Tiananmen Square during their peaceful appeal. Washington D.C. practitioners will gather in front of the Chinese Embassy to urge the president of China, Jiang Zeming, to stop the bloody persecution, and to release all the practitioners arrested. With persistence and courage unprecedented in Chinese history, tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners have stepped forward, repeatedly and fearlessly, to appeal to the government for their right to practice their own faith, and to proclaim to the whole world "Falun Dafa is good!" The Chinese government is reported to be planning to "eradicate Falun Gong in 3 Months" and is threatening to start executing certain Falun Gong practitioners who have remained faithful to their beliefs. Right now there are tens of thousands of innocent Falun Gong practitioners suffering from torture and abuse in labor camps and detention centers in China. More than 55 practitioners have died due to mistreatment while in police custody and over 600 practitioners in fine health have been forced into mental hospitals. To urge the president of China, Jiang Zeming, to stop the bloody persecution, and to call for the humanitarian support from the world, Washington D.C. Falun Gong practitioners will organize an exercise demonstration and photo exhibition to reveal the brutal persecution led by China's president.
