Since Jiang Zemin and his cohorts began their crackdown on Falun Gong in July 1999, the situation in China has continually worsened. Lately, officials are planning another round of tyranny for the upcoming National Day. Falun Gong practitioners in North America are extremely concerned.
Based on their ulterior motives, Jiang Zemin and his cohorts planned, organized, and implemented the crackdown on Falun Gong. It has severely violated both the basic rights of Falun Gong practitioners, and the Chinese Constitution. These actions have discredited the Chinese government both in China and overseas.
First, the crackdown violates the nation's policy, constitution, and other laws, and has harmed millions of Falun Gong practitioners and their relatives. According to news sources over fifty practitioners have been confirmed killed, over five hundred illegally sentenced to jail terms, more than five thousand currently detained in labor camps, over six hundred currently detained in mental hospitals, and tens of thousand of innocent citizens have been detained, repeatedly. The Falun Gong practitioners have suffered inhumane mental and physical torture in the past year. While human civilization has entered the 21st century, it is odd to see a government that persecutes its own people on such a large scale. How can a people's government blindly allow a small group of thugs to wreak havoc on the lives of so many kind people?
Second, the crackdown has led to instability of the nation. China needs a stable environment to develop its economy, to strengthen the nation, and to accumulate wealth. Falun Gong is a cultivation activity. The positive results of over one hundred million practitioners worldwide, and surveys conducted by the government itself, have proven that Falun Gong is positively promoting the people's health and morality. Falun Gong practitioners are the government's most reliable factors for social stability.
The head of the state Council's justice department, on April 25, 1999, was a positive force in China and overseas. But Jiang Zemin's group forced the riot police, pubic security forces, secret agencies, courts, jails, labor camps, drug rehabilitation centers, mental hospitals, and all state controlled media to slander and persecute Falun Gong. Thus, the situation in the whole country became turbulent. The Chinese people feel that the Cultural Revolution is back. What benefit is there in persecuting people to satisfy a small group? The ten years of the Cultural Revolution resulted in a horrifying loss of morality, culture, and economy in China. No kind and responsible state leader would allow this sad history to be repeated. It is the state leader's sin against the people to let corruption, stealing, robbing, rape, and murder develop while disregarding the state's development and the people's lives. Additionally, they even support the evil in society while suppressing the kindly in public, and persecute the kind Falun Gong practitioners who trust the government. They will definitely be punished by heaven and by history.
Third, the crackdown has discredited the government among the people. Jiang Zemin's group drove one hundred million people and their families, relatives, and friends to the opposite side of the government and continued the persecution with forcefully, a rare event in history. Jiang Zemin forced the "people's government" to persecute people in order to protect his power and status. History has proven that dictatorships and tyrants will fail. How would people feel when they are controlled by an incapable and tyrannical dictator? Wouldn't that discredit the government?
Fourth, the crackdown has damaged the Chinese government's international reputation. Over the past year, Jiang's group did their best to slander Falun Gong throughout the world. Yet no country or region has followed his example. On the contrary, many countries and their leaders have condemned and criticized the crackdown. Many countries and regions have issued honors and awards to Falun Gong. More and more people in the world realized that Falun Gong's principles, "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance", are beneficial to one's mental and physical health. They agree, understand, and support Falun Gong. Some also began Falun Gong cultivation. Under these conditions, Jiang Zemin still claims that, "It is the best period for human rights in Chinese history." While more and more people know the truth about Falun Gong, his random and massive slandering can only display his shamelessness. Jiang only allows the dark side in China. But he said at the UN, "The world shouldn't only have the dark side." The international media are more and more unwilling to report the shameless dictator's nasty propaganda. Jiang's group has completely distorted the good international image China had gained due to economic reforms.
The crackdown on Falun Gong is not against Falun Gong practitioners only. It is a disaster for all Chinese people, enforced by Jiang's and his allies. To destroy mankind's morality is to destroy mankind. The Chinese will have to pay back heavily. Violence, disasters of both natural and human origin, decreasing national capabilities, and growing crises are warnings from heaven.
We are very clear that most people in the central and regional governments disagree with Jiang Zemin. There are only a small number of people who assist him with this evil. Why has the evil lasted for so long, and kept escalating? Besides Jiang's gang's control of the media and news, quite a few people submit to their abuse of power. Their allowing them to continue and even following the trend are important reasons. Historic lessons must be remembered. Those who followed the Gang of Four to do evil deeds have all been judged by history. Dictatorships will not last for long. Individual power will disappear sooner or later. Those who play up to the power, and those who drift with the current, will not escape the responsibility of history in the end. Because "good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil" is the unchangeable universal principle.
National Day is coming soon. Jiang's gang is trying to take this chance to arrest and persecute on an even larger scale, and further escalate the crackdown of Falun Gong. They have also claimed that they will totally suppress Falun Gong within three months. Falun Dafa is the universal principle. "It is futile for man, regardless of what perspective he takes, to negate the Fa and principles of the universe that are beyond all theories of human society."[Further Comments on Superstition] All Falun Dafa practitioners are determined to protect the Fa using the principle of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance". No evil can sway us.
For justice, truth, and for the future of the Chinese nation, we are calling on the Chinese government and all the kind people in the government to stop Jiang's gang perverse acts, and help end the brutal suppression of Falun Gong. History will remember the position you placed for yourselves and give you appropriate rewards.
