(Minghui.org) Practitioners held a two-day event at Jeju Island on March 30 and 31, 2024 and introduced Falun Dafa. Their activities included parades at Jeju City Center and Seongsan Ilchulbong (also known as “Sunrise Peak”). Many people learned about Falun Dafa and how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes practitioners.
South Korea’s largest island, Jeju Island is a popular tourist destination and is often referred as the Hawaii of Korea. The visa-free entry also attracts many tourists especially those from neighboring China. Impressed by Falun Dafa practitioners’ beautiful parades, especially the Tian Guo Marching Band’s performances, Chinese tourists were very supportive. Some gave practitioners thumbs up and one woman called out, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!”
Starting from Samda Park, the parade on the morning of March 30 lasted two hours and passed Shilla Duty Free Shop, Lotte Duty Free Shop, and boardwalks. The Tian Guo Marching Band played melodies such as, “Falun Dafa Is Good” and “Triumphant Return” and their performances were praised by spectators.

The Tian Guo Marching Band also performed in front of the Shilla Duty-Free Shop on March 30. Practitioners set up a booth and many people learned what Falun Dafa is.
The Shilla Duty-Free Shop is not just a shopping mall, but a tourist attraction. Drawn by the Tian Guo Marching Band’s uplifting music, many tourists stopped to watch. Some of them gave thumbs up to support practitioners. One Chinese tourist called out, “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” “Chinese people want to thank you!”
Other tourists and local residents alike said they were amazed by the performances. Some danced to the rhythm and others took pictures or videos. Some drivers of passing vehicles lowered their windows and waved at practitioners to show their approval.

Located on the eastern seaboard of Jeju Island, Seongsan Ilchulbong is also known as “Sunrise Peak.” An archetypal cone formed by a volcanic eruption about 5,000 years ago, it resembles a gigantic ancient castle. Because of the well-preserved tuff cone from hydromagnetic volcano and diverse internal structure, it was designated by UNESCO as a Natural World Heritage Site and attracts thousands of tourists.

Tourists receive Falun Dafa materials.
A scenic grassland is located next to Seongsan Ilchulbong and practitioners come here year round. They display posters and hand out information about Falun Dafa, while clarifying the truth about the CCP’s persecution. Many people stopped to watch the Tian Guo Marching Band perform and read the posters.
Korean tourist Woo said he liked Falun Dafa.
Woo is a South Korean tourist and said he previously heard about Falun Dafa, but did not know much about the persecution. After reading the posters, he thanked practitioners. “It’s insane that the CCP does something so horrible. Our world needs peace and Falun Dafa is indeed great,” he said. “Please keep it up! I hope more people will learn about Falun Dafa.”
Lee, another tourist from South Korea, visited Jeju with her family and friends. She read the posters about the brutal suppression in China, including the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting, and said the persecution is “absolutely wrong.” She hopes the tragedies end soon.
With scenic Sunrise Peak as a backdrop, the Tian Guo Marching Band performed and were applauded by spectators. They did the exercises afterwards.

They displayed banners with the messages: “Falun Dafa is good,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” “Jeju Island Welcomes You,” and “Falun Dafa Practiced Worldwide for 32 Years.” Many Chinese tourists greeted practitioners before they boarded their ships and thanked them for their efforts.
