New Zealand: Rally Marks 20th Anniversary of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party

(Minghui.org) Practitioners did the Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) exercises and held a rally on Elizabeth Square in Auckland to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party on November 16, 2024. The Nine Commentaries deeply analyzes the history and nature of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). To date, more than 430 million Chinese people have declared their withdrawal from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.

Human rights lawyer Kerry Gore, guest Felix, and three Falun Dafa practitioners spoke at the rally and encouraged Chinese people to seek the truth.

Human Rights Lawyer: China Will Be Better Without the CCP

Human rights lawyer Kerry Gore addressed the rally.

Lawyer Kerry Gore addressed the rally and said, “Congratulations to the Quit Chinese Communist Party Service Center and members of the Falun Gong community with helping 438 million people to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations, the Youth League, and the Young Pioneers.

“There will be many reasons why so many people have chosen to separate from the CCP. The most important is persecution. The CCP persecutes many groups and individuals in China, i.e. Falun Gong practitioners, House Church Christians, Tibetan Buddhists, Muslim Uyghurs, and Pro-Democracy advocates, and that list is not exhaustive.”

He pointed out, “The CCP’s appalling human rights record, its disregard for the Rule of Law, its contempt for international human rights norms, and its resistance to, and rejection of, any meaningful democratic reform in China best explains the large number of people who have chosen to separate themselves from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. They have seen that China only has a future without the CCP, and they are quite correct. The collapse of the CCP will inaugurate a new era for China and the Chinese people.”

Invited Guest Calls Attention to the Facts

Felix addressed the rally.

Invited guest Felix said at the rally, “The publication of the Nine Commentaries is not only a record of words, but also a trial of history and a call for justice. It reveals the true face of the political movements, suppression and systematic destruction of Chinese traditional culture since the CCP took power.”

He also said, “As a supporter of Falun Dafa, I know how cruel the persecution is. Falun Dafa practitioners have been persistent in spreading the truth and peacefully resisting, showing courage and tenacity."

He said that now countless people of conscience have expressed their opposition to the tyranny and brutality of the CCP by declaring their withdrawal from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, which is a manifestation of people’s self-awakening and pursuit of dignity.

In conclusion he said, “On the 20th anniversary of the publication of the Nine Commentaries, I would like to pay tribute to all those who have fought to expose the truth, spread freedom and resist the tyranny of the CCP. I call on everyone with conscience to pay attention to the truth, speak out bravely, and jointly promote social awakening and change.”

People Support Falun Gong

An actor from the U.S. came to Auckland to work on the stage play of The Lord of the Rings, and expressed his support for Chinese people withdrawing from the CCP. He said, “I think communism is a scourge to mankind. I believe in freedom, and as an American, I think freedom is very important.”

He mentioned that he heard some reports about Falun Gong in the American media, and he supports the Falun Gong Protection Act to “protect those who practice the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.” He said that these principles are excellent values and agrees with their positive impact. He said that he would continue to support Falun Gong practitioners.

John Barry, a tourist from the U.S., said that Falun Gong is a positive practice and that people should pursue their own beliefs rather than be controlled by the CCP. When talking about the CCP’s persecution, he said with emotion, “This is terrible and shocking. People should be free to believe in what they choose.”

John said that the American public has not fully learned about the persecution, but he said, “Your information is spreading. I hope this can influence enough people to change the world.” He hopes that practitioners can win this struggle.

Brett wants to learn Falun Gong.

Brett is from Whakatane, a town in the North Island of New Zealand, and owns a farm. He said, “I think (Falun Gong) is very good and peaceful. It can calm people down, slow down their pace, and make them stop and think in their busy lives.”

He agreed with Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and said that these principles can make the world a better place.

Brett said he was shocked to learn about the CCP’s persecution, and was interested in learning more about the practice. He said, “I will read the book [Zhuan Falun] to learn about these principles."

Pro-democracy Activist Witnesses the CCP’s Persecution

Zhang Heli served in the military and worked in China. Because he defended the rights of veterans and spoke out against the June 4th massacre, he was persecuted by the CCP and fled China. He said, “The CCP does things that oppress people. My understanding of the evil of the CCP is through the Nine Commentaries, which deeply exposes the evil nature of the CCP.”

He also said, “The CCP is frantically suppressing Falun Gong because the CCP dictatorship is evil and against humanity. I used to work in a township government, and I know the cruel methods of the CCP very well, and I saw them with my own eyes. Now I’m overseas, and I want people in Western civilized society to know the CCP’s crimes.”

Praise for the U.S. Falun Gong Protection Act

Mr. Yu said, “The Nine Commentaries is my enlightenment book. I was taught to love the Party and love China, but the CCP tied itself and China together. The Nine Commentaries helped me distinguish between the Communist Party, China, and the Chinese people. The Nine Commentaries also exposed the crimes of the Communist Party. I am very happy that 430 million people have withdrawn from the Party and so many people have awakened. Chinese civilization is 5,000 years old, but the Communist Party is only a few decades old. How can it represent China? It cannot! It is a demon that entrenched itself in our Chinese motherland.”

He continued, “Falun Gong practitioners have done very well. It is not easy. We must persist and continue to work hard and let Chinese people outside China know that the CCP is not China and loving the Party does not equate to loving China. Now, the Falun Gong Protection Act passed by the United States, and this is very good. It’s equivalent to confirming the fact that the CCP conducts forced organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners and other ethnic minorities at the legal level. In addition, the United States is taking the lead in the world to pass laws to sanction such crimes.”
