(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 8 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Nie Jing Facing Trial
2. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Mao Dejun Sentenced to One Year in Prison
3. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xi Ping Arrested
4. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Jiufen Admitted to Prison
5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Jiuwen Detained for Nearly a Year
6. [Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xie Detained for Eleven Days
7. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhang Huasheng Detained
8. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Yanhong Detained
1. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Nie Jing Facing Trial
Ms. Nie Jing was arrested at home by officers from the Zijing Police Station and the Linghe District Domestic Security Division on April 24, 2024. She has since then been detained in the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center. The Linghai City Procuratorate approved her arrest on April 30, 2024. She was scheduled to appear in the Linghai City Court at 9 a.m. on October 9, 2024.
2. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Mao Dejun Sentenced to One Year in Prison
Ms. Mao Dejun from Junan County was arrested by officers from the Development Zone Police Station and the Junan County Domestic Security Division on June 17, 2024. The Linshu County Court held two hearings of her case, before sentencing her to one year in prison on September 23, 2024.
3. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xi Ping Arrested
Ms. Xi Ping, of Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, was arrested at home by three plainclothes officers from the Yanqing District Police Department in Beijing at 8 a.m. on September 23, 2024. She was suspected of having contacts with Falun Gong practitioners outside of China. The police ransacked her home and confiscated more than ten Falun Gong books, a desktop calendar, a cell phone, and informational materials about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Yanqing Police Department in Beijing for interrogation. After she was denied admission by the Caozhuangcun Detention Center in Nankou Town, Changping District, Beijing, she was taken back to the Baiquan Police Station in Yanqing District after midnight, and released on bail next day.
4. [Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Jiufen Admitted to Prison
Ms. Wu Jiufen was sentenced to a one-year prison term by the Lianshan District Court, and admitted to the Liaoning Province Second Women’s Prison on August 21, 2024.
5. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Jiuwen Detained for Nearly a Year
Mr. Chen Jiuwen from Xinbin County was arrested by officers in Fusong County in the winter of 2023. He was detained at the Fusong County Detention Center. His case status is unknown.
6. [Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xie Detained for Eleven Days
Ms. Xie, from Jiangxi Province, was arrested in late August 2024, for talking to people about Falun Gong while traveling to Guangdong Province on the train. She was detained in Guangdong for eleven days and her two cell phones were confiscated.
7. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhang Huasheng Detained
Mr. Zhang Huasheng was arrested by officers from the Heba Town Police Station in Datonghu District on September 4, 2024, after being reported for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in Biguiyuan. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials about Falun Gong. He is currently being held in the Yiyang City Detention Center.
8. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Yanhong Detained
Ms. Wang Yanhong was arrested on October 2, 2024, after being reported for distributing information materials about Falun Gong. She is currently being held in the Hanchuan City Second Detention Center.
