(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Caiyun Sentenced to Eight Months in Prison

12. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Zhan Ruihua Arrested
1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Caiyun Sentenced to Eight Months in Prison
Ms. Wang Caiyun, in her 70s, was arrested in March 2023 and was detained in the Fushun City Detention Center. She was recently sentenced to eight months in prison.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Na Junpeng Faces Trial
Mr. Na Junpeng from Xiangfang District was arrested at home on April 25, 2023. He will be tried in the Daowai District Court at 10 a.m. on September 22, 2023.
3. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xiuping Transferred to Prison
Ms. Li Xiuping from Jizhou was sentenced to three years in prison. After she was incarcerated in a detention center for nearly two years, she was transferred to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison on September 4, 2023.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jian Arrested and Harassed
Ms. Jian, 74, was arrested at her home by officers from the Maluwan Police Station in the Heping District on March 15, 2023. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the police station for interrogation and was handcuffed to a chair. She was released the next day due to her heart problem.
Ms. Jian’s daughter received a harassing call from officer Liu from the Maluwan Police Station in early September 2023, who asked about her mother’s situation.
5. [Shaoyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wang Lijuan Harassed
Ms. Wang Lijuan lived in another province for years to avoid being harassed by Luo Zhengguo, head of the Beita District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and Officer Zhong. She recently went back to Shaoyang City to take care of her daughter. After she arrived, she was harassed and pressured to sign a guarantee statement (to stop practicing Falun Gong). Due to the harassment and pressure, she left her home again.
6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cheng Mingjuan Arrested and Detained
Ms. Cheng Mingjuan was arrested by officers from the Chengxi Police Station in Lyuyuan District at 7 p.m. on September 10, 2023. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated several Falun Gong books, some paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts, and other personal belongings. Practitioner Chen who was visiting Ms. Cheng, was also arrested. Chen was released the next day. Ms. Cheng has been detained.
7. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yufang and Ms. Sun Dongmei Arrested
In order to rescue her husband Mr. Liu Dianyuan, who is in prison and is now paralyzed, Ms. Liu Yufang filed a complaint to the Liaoning Province Inspection Team against Jiang Jie, head of the Jianping County Domestic Security Division, Zhang Lihui, and judge Li Yan from the Jianping County Court, in mid-May 2023.
Ms. Liu went to the Tianyuan Hotel and intended to meet Li from the inspection team on August 24, 2023, but was trapped by police. She was arrested and held in the Chaoyang City Detention Center until September 7, 2023.
Ms. Sun Dongmei was arrested on August 22, 2023, and was held in the Chaoyang City Detention House. She is now back home.
8. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Zhang Jinglong from Dakaoshan Village, Xigemu Township, was arrested at home by officers including Wu Bin from the Jiaoqu Police Department on July 7, 2023. His home was ransacked. He was detained for 15 days. After he returned home, he was pressured by a local police officer to sign the three statements. He refused. Officer Wu Bin took him to have a physical exam two days later and intended to send him to the detention center. Mr. Zhang was denied admission due to his high blood pressure. He was released on bail pending trial.
The three practitioners from Dalai Town: Wang Shoutian, Liu Dayong, and Liu Dazhi, were also arrested on July 7, 2023. Their homes were ransacked. Liu Dazhi was released on the same day. Wang Shoutian and Liu Dayong were detained for 15 days.
9. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Lijun Arrested
Mr. Zhang Lijun lives in Jincheng Township, Shuangcheng District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. When he traveled to Xinjiang he was arrested by officers from the Yining City Railway Police Station on the way from Urumqi City to Yining City. He is currently detained in the Chengxi Police Station in Yining City.
10. [Beijing] Practitioner Xu Arrested
Xu from the Xinjiekou Education College in Xicheng District was seen on surveillance cameras while distributing information about Falun Gong before July 20, 2023. Xu was arrested two days later by officers from the Xinjiekou Police Station. The police ransacked Xu’s home and confiscated his or her Falun Gong books.
11. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Bai Xiuyun Arrested and Detained
Ms. Bai Xiuyun from Matiyingzi Village, Yuanbaoshan District, was arrested at the end of August 2023. She is currently detained in the Pingzhuanglingshang Detention Center in the Yuanbaoshuan District.
12. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Zhan Ruihua Arrested
Zhan Ruihua was arrested on September 3, 2023. The police ransacked Zhan’s home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a printer, a computer, and other personal belongings.
