(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 72 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The cases against Mr. Shi Yingji and Ms. Hu Xiaolu from the Yanqing District were sent to the Yanqing District Court on September 16, 2023. Mr. Shi is being held in the Yanqing District Detention Center. Ms. Hu is at home.
The cases against Ms. Yang Guihua, Ms. Deng Xiugui, and Ms. Du Yingfen were turned in to the Chuanshan District Court on September 7, 2023.
Mr. Zhao Shaokuan from the Changping District was monitored around the clock from September 28 to October 6, 2023, by people assigned by the Changping District 610 Office.
Officers from the Gantun Township Police Station went to Mr. Xing Tongfu’s home in Xu Village, Gantun Township, in September 2023, and forcibly collected a sample of his blood to acquire his DNA.
Wanshan Township Police Station officers went to Mr. Xiao Qimin’s home in Meierzhuang Village, Gantun Township, in late September 2023. They ransacked the place and arrested him. Mr. Xiao was held in the Liaocheng City Detention Center.
Xiong Fuying, Fu Xuebing, and Li Chunlan from the downtown area were harassed around mid-September 2023.
Mr. Gou Jiawen from Dujiangyan City was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was put under residential surveillance on February 5, 2023. Mr. Gou was ordered to go to the procuratorate, where officials would transcribe his answers during the interrogation. He refused to sign the transcript.
On February 8, Mr. Gou was contacted again and told to go there and sign the edited version of the interrogation transcript. This time he signed it.
On July 24, Dong Xuancheng, the officer handling the case, called and said that his case was transferred to the procuratorate and asked him to answer questions. He went and answered questions but did not sign the transcript.
At 11 a.m. on September 14, someone knocked repeatedly on Mr. Gou’s door. He did not open it. The knocking continued for a long time and then stopped.
After 9 a.m. on September 15, Liu Zhen, a member of the Xiangfengqiao Community Neighborhood Committee, and others went to the address listed on Mr. Gou’s household registration on file and Mr. Gou let them in. They took out two printed pages and told Mr. Gou to sign them. He would not, and they left. Shortly after, nine people showed up and told Mr. Gou to sign paperwork. They also said that if he did not sign, they would have to do something about it. Several men grabbed Mr. Gou’s hand, pressed it into the seal paste, and fingerprinted the document. Then they put a pen in his hand and drew two random strokes on the paper.
On the morning of September 27, they knocked on the door again to harass him. Mr. Gou did not open up. They came again that afternoon, and again he did not answer the door. That evening, they knocked on the door again to harass him.
Three officers from the Gaode Police Station broke into the home of Mr. Xu Jiafu and his wife Ms. Zheng Zhengxiang around 10 a.m. on September 10, 2023. They ransacked the place without showing any IDs. They checked the couple’s computer and cell phones.
Ms. Zhang Yuying from Dongzhaojiaguan Village in Renzhao Town was arrested by Guxian Police Station officers on the evening of September 6, 2023, when she was heading home after working in the cornfield. Ms. Zhang was detained for 15 days and returned home on September 22.
Ms. Liang Junying from Renzhao Town was arrested by Guozhuang Police Station officers on September 18. She was detained for 15 days and returned home on October 4.
Mr. Dai Xianming from the Yongchuan District was taken to the No. 10 Ward in Yongchuan Prison on April 27, 2023. About 10 days later, his life was in imminent danger. His wife went to the prison but was not able to see him. The guards told her that she had to wait to be notified by phone before she could see her husband.
Ms. He Hongyan and seven other practitioners were arrested and charged. In July 2023, they appealed to the Shijiazhuang Intermediate Court. In early October, it was reported that the original verdicts were upheld.
