Additional Persecution News from China – June 20, 2020 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in seven provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Facing Trial

Ms. Wang Guilan, Ms. Heng Xiaofeng, Ms. Zhang Xiuyun, Ms. Shang Shuqin, and Ms. Yi Lixia from the Shuangluan District are due to be tried in the Shuangqiao District Court on June 22, 2020.

2. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Jiufen and Ms. Wang Yanhua Detained

Ms. Wu Jiufen and Ms. Wang Yanhua from Wanghezi Village, Shahousuo Town were arrested on the evening of June 17, 2020, and their homes were ransacked. They were taken to the Huludao Detention Center on June 20.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Shuhua Detained, Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Jiang Shuhua from Ganjiatun, Shengyang Township, Dehui City was arrested on June 5, 2020. She was taken to the Changchun No. 4 Detention Center by officers from the Dehui Police Department.

Mr. Daxiang, Mr. Shen, Ms. Wang Guiqin, and Mr. Zou were arrested in a shared rental home in Xisanhutong, Hongqi Street, Changchun City. A picture of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Gong books, computers, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

4. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Guiping Detained

Ms. Li Guiping, in her 60s, from Jianping County, was arrested by Zhang Lihui and other officers from the Jianping Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of June 11, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Xidayingzi Detention Center, Chaoyang City.

Ms. Li’s husband, who has leukemia, is left without care.

5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xuan Huaiji Arrested

Ms. Xuan Huaiji was arrested on the evening of June 17, 2020.

6. [Mianning County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xu Xiaoxiang Arrested

Ms. Xu Xiaoxiang was arrested at home by officers from the Mianning County Police Department and local police station on the afternoon of May 19, 2020. They ransacked the place, and confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Gong printouts, and other personal belongings.

Ms. Xu was taken to the police department.

7. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Ma Shaojie Tried Online

Mr. Ma Shaojie was arrested by agents from the Linqing 610 Office and officers from the Linqing Domestic Security Division on September 15, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He has been held in the Liaocheng Area Detention Center for nine months.

Mr. Ma was tried via video-link by the Guan County Court on the morning of June 16, 2020. His attorney asked for his immediate release citing freedom of belief that is guaranteed by law.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Zhiqing Arrested and Released

Ms. Wang Zhiqing from Baiheshanzhuang, Lingshui Neighborhood of the Gaoxinyuan District handed out software which allow users to bypass China's Great Internet Firewall to access websites like Facebook on June 15, 2020. She happened to give one copy to a plainclothes officer from the Gaoxinhyuan Domestic Security Division, and was arrested.

Her home was ransacked that afternoon, and computers, printers, cellphones, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings were confiscated. She was transferred to the Hekou Border Police Station for interrogation.

Ms. Wang was released on the afternoon of June 16 after police took her blood samples, fingerprints, and photos of her eyes for facial recognition against her will.

9. [Suizhong City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Deng, Ms. Liu, Ms. Zhao, and Ms. Wang were reading Falun Gong books in Ms. Zhang Fenglan’s home when officers from the Suizhong Domestic Security Division broke in and arrested them on the morning of June 19, 2020. Their Falun Gong books were confiscated.

10. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Ying Detained

Ms. Wang Ying, 65, from the Yicheng District, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Laojie Police Station on June 16, 2020. She is being held in the Zhumadian Detention Center for ten days.

11. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Guixia Formally Arrested

Ms. Zhang Guixia from Xinbin County was arrested on June 9, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong fliers in Jiangnan Village, Wangqingmen Town after being reported by a villager. She is being held in the Xinbin Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang has been formally placed under arrest by the Shuncheng Procuratorate.

Mr. Luo Chuan is due to be tried by the Jinniu District Court on the morning of June 29, 2020.
