(Minghui.org) I was recently arrested for clarifying the truth on the street, and taken for a medical examination before being detained. The nurse did a “skin test” and wanted me to do it again after three days. I asked the police officer on the way to the detention center what the “skin test” was. The officer said it was to check if I had allergic reactions. I had been arrested many times before, but never checked like that. It caused me to be suspicious because I knew that one of the persecution methods used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was to inject healthy Falun Dafa practitioners, then send them to a psychiatric hospital, causing them to become injured mentally or die.
When I asked other detainees at the detention center if they had received the “skin test” injections, they told me they hadn’t, which backed up my suspicion. I became moody and thought, “How can I continue to cultivate if I become mentally injured due to the shots [injections]?” I was utterly lost in my ego.
A thought later flashed in my mind, “My life is for Master, and to persecute me is to persecute a world that is destined to be saved. The evil must be dissolved!” I didn’t sleep that night and kept sending forth righteous thoughts. On the third day, the person who slept beside me reminded me that it was the day for the next shot. I said assuredly, “It doesn’t exist anymore. I have dissolved all of it.” No one mentioned taking a “skin test” again.
The detention center informed us one day that we had to do the “examination.” A female guard brought an aged male officer in, and two to three younger guards stood at the door. All the detainees stood in a line, and we were ordered to report our numbers. Every detainee is given a number when they first arrive. Standing at the end of the line, I refused to report my number, and instead said, “Hello, I wish you health and safety.”
The female guard introduced the aged male officer to us, “This is a rehire from a steel mill in our city. He knows about Falun Dafa and has been in charge of this for a long time.” The male officer then asked me why I refused to report my number. I said, “I didn’t break the law. I am not a convict. If you force me to report the number, it will harm you. In recent years, the pandemic targeted those who persecuted Falun Dafa. I am not against you. On the contrary, I am here for your good.”
“Even if you withdraw money at a bank,” he responded, “you still need to report your number. So why do you think it’s for convicts only?” What he said was not right, because my arrest was wrong in the first place. He insisted that I report the number, and we were at a stalemate.
I realized that I should change to a better manner, so I put my palms together and said, “I’m sorry. You have your opinion, and I have my principles. I’m not a criminal here, so I can’t report the number.”
He said, “You’ll have to come back in when you get out.” As he said this, he walked out the door without forcing me to report the number again.
The detention center issued us red vests as the prisoners’ uniform. I refused to wear it and threw it on my bed. It then disappeared. Days later, I suddenly had an incorrect thought that I must hand in the red vest to be able to get released. I began to look for it. I asked around, but nobody knew where it was. Because of that incorrect thought, I was given a new one. I came to my senses and firmly refused it. I said, “I don’t want it! It’s not mine.” I threw it under my bed, and nobody asked about it until I was released.
I have been arrested six times during the persecution. I was once sent to the police station and released not long after. I was held in a detention center five times for ten to fifteen days. Each time I did the Dafa exercises, sent forth righteous thoughts, and clarified the truth. With Master’s compassionate protection, no ward or inmate made trouble for me.
When I was first taken to the police station, my husband accompanied me. Later, my husband told me, “The police said this was your first time, but on the second time, you would be sentenced.”
“What they say doesn’t count,” I responded. “Only my master’s words count.”
When I was sent to the detention center for the second time, the police threatened that as a person with a “criminal record,” I would be sent to the forced labor camp. I was also arraigned in court. At that time, I didn’t know how to clarify the truth, and just kept reciting, “Falun Dafa is good.” I consolidated my righteous thoughts and refused to cooperate with them. Finally, I was released without confessing or signing anything.
This is just like Master said:
“...Disciples’ righteous thoughts are strongMaster has the power to turn the tide”(“Master-Disciple Grace,” Hong Yin II)
The cell “monitor” treated me very well. She said that every time she was summoned, the director asked about me. Other detainees also noticed that the guards treated Dafa practitioners with a better attitude. They knew Dafa was different. I clarified the truth to them and helped them quit the CCP and its youth organizations.
There is another story. The “monitor” said that she should have been taken to another detention center, where the environment was even worse, and that her ex-husband and father-in-law, who were members of the Public Security Bureau, had sought connections to take her there. She used to work in that detention center and witnessed the guards there shocking the Falun Dafa practitioners with electric batons. Upon seeing some practitioners sentenced, she mistakenly thought that Falun Dafa was not good. However, after a few days of communicating with me, she changed her attitude and realized that Falun Dafa was good. Therefore, she especially cared about me.
During that detention, we were not charged for food, which was even worse than pig food. Almost every day, the “monitor” gave me milk powder to drink, and when there were snacks, she would give me a few more. On two occasions, she gave me meat buns that she obtained through her connections, and sometimes candy bars. I always tried to refuse them, but she insisted. I said, “May Heaven’s blessing be upon you all.” I then distributed those treats to all the detainees. Later, we were served fried green pepper with smoked bean curd. It was the only time we got better food in the detention center. Other cells were served one bowl, but our cell was served three. The detainees said they were blessed by Dafa. Everyday people attach great importance to those details. Whether we do well or not significantly affects their recognition of Dafa.
Detainees are required to take turns cleaning the cell, but the “monitor” announced that I didn’t need to do so. However, I insisted on taking my turn. I refused to report my number or wear the red vest, but I insisted on cleaning the cell. It was not to cooperate with the guards, but to share others’ work. Even when I was in prison and could do little, I still needed to exhibit the kindness of Dafa as an altruistic being.
I didn’t slack off during my time in the detention center, and took every chance to clarify the truth. Dafa’s compassion enlightened the people there. Many detainees quit the Party and its youth organizations, and even a whole ward quit. Almost everyone in my cell quit, and I heard their heartfelt laughter.
Regrettably, there was one person who didn’t quit. Shortly after she came in to the cell, I was released and didn’t have much time to explain the truth to her. But she accepted what I said and thanked me many times. I truly hope she has the chance to listen to the truth again and be saved. I sincerely appreciate those who treat Dafa and Dafa practitioners well. They have chosen a good future for themselves.
On the day I was released, my workplace sent a car to pick me up. I politely declined. I want to send them good wishes for their virtuous thoughts.
