(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Yi’nan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Hongmei Admitted to Prison
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Guohua Facing Trial
3. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Ruhong Facing Trial
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
5. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Wenhong Detained
6. [Cangxi County, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Harassed
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
8. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Yanqiu Arrested and Detained
9. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lyu Hong Arrested and Detained
10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Chunlong Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
1. [Yi’nan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Hongmei Admitted to Prison
Ms. Wang Hongmei was sentenced to five years in prison and was admitted to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison in Ji’nan City in late July 2024.
2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Guohua Facing Trial
Mr. Liu Guohua was scheduled to stand trial in the Dadong District Court on August 7, 2024.
3. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Ruhong Facing Trial
Mr. Huang Ruhong, a native of Shenzhen City who was temporarily staying in Guangzhou City, was arrested by officers in Panyu District, Guangzhou City, in September 2023 and has been detained in the Panyu District Detention Center since. The Haizhu District Court in Guangzhou scheduled a hearing of his case on the morning of August 8, 2024. Details about the hearing weren’t available at the time of writing.
4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Five practitioners, Li (last name unknown) and four elderly practitioners were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of August 4, 2024, by officers of the Fenjin Police Station. Li’s home was ransacked.
5. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Wenhong Detained
Ms. Li Wenhong who works in the Instrument Factory in Lanxi District, was summoned to the Lanxi District Domestic Security Division on August 2, 2024. She was arrested upon arrival and has been detained in the Yongxiu County Detention Center since.
6. [Cangxi County, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Harassed
The police officers and local community staff members in Cangxi County harassed several practitioners and took their photos on July 19, 2024. The practitioners are, Ms. He Xiuzhen, Ms. Li Guangqing, Ms. Liu Xianghua, Ms. Yang Shixuan, Ms. He Xiaolan, and Ms. Huang Qionghui.
7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Li Dayun, in her 70s, was arrested at home by officers from the Bapu Street Police Station on the afternoon of August 4, 2024. Her home was ransacked and her Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. She is currently detained in Wuhan City First Women’s Detention Center.
Ms. Li Zhixiu and Ms. Feng Lianhua, both in their 60s, were also arrested by officers from the Bapu Street Police Station. Ms. Li Zhixiu was detained 37 days in Wuhan City First Women’s Detention Center and transferred to the Wuchang Brainwashing Center, where she remains.
8. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Yanqiu Arrested and Detained
Ms. Chen Yanqiu from Gaoxin District was arrested and has been detained in the Shuangfengsi Detention Center since July 12, 2024. The Chengde County Police Department is in charge of her case.
9. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Lyu Hong Arrested and Detained
Ms. Lyu Hong was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong in a shopping mall at the end of July 2024. She was detained for ten days at the Tonghua City Lockup.
10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Chunlong Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Mr. Han Chunlong from Heishan County, was arrested by officers from the Huangcheng Police Station in Shenhe District on October 2, 2023. He was tried by the Dadong District Court on February 27, 2024, and sentenced to four years in prison with a 30,000-yuan fine on March 25, 2024. His appeal was rejected by the Shenyang City Intermediate Court on June 25, 2024. He has been transferred from the Shenhe District Detention Center to the Liaoning Second Prison in Shenyang City.
