(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Zhongli and Ms. Leng Jing Arrested
3. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liao Zhijun Detained
4. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hong Xiuyan Arrested and Detained
5. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Guifeng and Ms. Li Qun’e Arrested and Detained
6. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jinxiu Arrested
7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xing Yanbo Arrested and Detained
8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Honglan Arrested

1. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Zhenquan Arrested

Mr. Qin Zhenquan from Manzhuang Town of Daiyue District was arrested at his apartment at 9 p.m. on August 2, 2024.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Zhongli and Ms. Leng Jing Arrested

Ms. Sun Zhongli and Ms. Leng Jing were recorded by surveillance cameras while distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the afternoon of July 17, 2024 and arrested by officers from the Qingniwa Police Station. Ms. Sun was released the next day due to her health condition. Ms. Leng has been detained in the Yaojia Detention Center since.

3. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Liao Zhijun Detained

Mr. Liao Zhijun was recently arrested and is currently detained in the Chenzhou City Detention Center. 

4. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Hong Xiuyan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Hong Xiuyan was arrested in late April 2024. She has been detained in the Liaoyang City Detention Center.

5. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Guifeng and Ms. Li Qun’e Arrested and Detained

A group arrest of Falun Gong practitioners took place in Yongxing County on July 20, 2024. The police confiscated truckloads of Falun Gong books and informational materials from the practitioners. 

Ms. Li Guifeng was seized at home during the group arrest. Her husband, Mr. Luo Shiyong, was beaten by the police when he tried to prevent them from raiding his home. He is currently receiving treatment in the hospital. 

When arresting Ms. Li Qun’e, the police cut a big hole in her door to break in. 

Both Li Guifeng and Ms. Li Qun’e remain detained at the time of writing.

6. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jinxiu Arrested

Officers from the Xinjie Town Police Station and Jiayu County Domestic Security Division contacted Ms. Chen Fengyu, on the morning of August 2, 2024, claiming that they wanted to have a talk with her sister, Ms. Chen Jinxiu.

Ms. Chen Fengyu called and asked to see her sister. When Ms. Chen Jinxiu came to visit her, the police arrested her. Ms. Chen Jinxiu was held at the police station for a few hours and released in the afternoon.

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xing Yanbo Arrested and Detained

Ms. Xing Yanbo was arrested by officers from the Xicheng Police Station, when she was distributing Falun Gong materials at 9 p.m. on July 7, 2024. The police ransacked her residence shared with her daughter at around 11 p.m. They confiscated over 20 Falun Gong books, two media players, a cell phone, and around 90 booklets. Ms. Xing is currently detained in the Daqing City Second Detention Center.

8. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Honglan Arrested

Led by Zhang Qiubo, security officer in Xinhe Village of Wuning Town, six officers from the Development Zone Police Station, harassed Ms. Lin Honglan on July 15, 2024. Her Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated.

Qu Yulin and other officers from the Development Zone Police Station showed up at Ms. Lin’s home again on July 22, 2024. When her husband tried to stop the police from breaking in, they pepper sprayed him in the face and pressed him on the ground. His legs were bruised in multiple places. The police handcuffed Ms. Lin behind her back and took her to the police station for interrogation. She was released around 8 p.m.
