Additional Persecution News from China – June 27, 2023 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Tongchao and Ms. Li Chuanfang Sentenced to Prison

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ren Suqing Arrested

1. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhu Tongchao and Ms. Li Chuanfang Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhu Tongchao from Tancheng County was tried on May 30, 2023, and sentenced to four years in prison. He is now appealing the sentence.

Ms. Li Chuanfang, 69, was sentenced to three years in prison. She was taken to Jinan Prison on March 1, 2023.

2. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Nan Minmin Imprisoned

Ms. Nan Minmin was arrested by officers from the Sungang Police Station on May 29, 2020. She was taken to the Luohu District Detention Center on May 29, 2020, and was subsequently transferred to the Shenzhen No. 3 Detention Center.

On March 25, 2021, Ms. Nan was transferred to the Yantian District Detention Center. That same day, she was tried and sentenced to five and a half years in prison. Ms. Nan appealed to the Shenzhen Intermediate Court, which upheld the original judgment.

In September 2021, Ms. Nan was transferred to a new facility, the Longgang District Detention Center. In late April 2023, she was transferred to the Guangdong Women’s Prison.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liang Yi Detained

Mr. Liang Yi was arrested on June 21, 2023. He was detained for 15 days (from June 21 to July 5) and held in the Qingling Detention Center.

4. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jin Ying Arrested

Ms. Jin Ying from Dengta City, Liaoning Province, was arrested by the Beijing police in early June 2023 while she was doing odd jobs in Beijing. Her current situation is unknown.

5. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Chunmei Arrested

Ms. Li Chunmei, 79, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of June 13, 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Quanshan Police Station. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated 39 copies of Falun Gong books, one jukebox, one MP3 player, and 90 yuan with Falun Gong facts printed on them. Ms. Li returned home after 8 p.m. that evening.

6. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Dandan’s Home Ransacked

Police officers were spotted near Ms. Wang Dandan’s home on the afternoon of June 20, 2023. On the afternoon of June 21, when no one was at her home, officers from the Haizhou District Police Department called in a locksmith, opened the door, and ransacked her home. They confiscated all her Falun Gong books, a computer, two printers, and 70,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Wang managed to leave and did not return home.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Leng Yonghong Arrested

Ms. Leng Yonghong from Haiyang City was arrested while she distributed Falun Gong materials on the street on June 13, 2023. She was taken to the Yantai City Detention Center. The details of her situation are not known.

8. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Wang Jinyun Released on Bail

Ms. Wang Jinyun distributed Falun Gong materials. At around 10 a.m. on April 18, 2023, officers from the Huangdao District Police Department in Qingdao City went directly to Ms. Wang’s home in Xi’an City and ransacked it. They confiscated 55 Falun Gong books and copies of printed materials.

Ms. Wang was released on bail by the Hongying Road Police Station in the Beilin District, Xi’an City.

9. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ren Suqing Arrested

Ms. Ren Suqing from the Bailian Residential Community was reported to the police when she talked to people about Falun Gong in the Laijiadian area in Shiling Town on June 26, 2023. She was arrested by officers from the Laijiadian Police Station.

10. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiaoli Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiaoli was harassed by officer Sun Weidong from Xinxing District on the morning of June 23, 2023. Sun told Ms. Wang to sign some paperwork, which she refused. Ms. Wang was arrested, but she escaped from the police station.
