(Minghui.org) After I was arrested during a police sweep in 2012 for practicing Falun Dafa, I was fortunate to meet many people who helped me. I’d like to express my gratitude towards them through this article.
The Company Executive Who Extended Her Helping Hand
I was held in a local detention center after my arrest. After my company executive heard about my situation, she drove all the way from another city (she was on a business trip) in the early morning and met the mayor before 8 a.m. to seek my release.
My husband and I were very moved by her action. She was blessed by being quickly promoted to a higher position.
Kindhearted Guards in the Detention Center
In the local detention center, I met several kindhearted female guards who always tried to help me whenever they could.
The inmates always caused trouble and the guards in charge would tell them: “Look at the Falun Gong practitioners, they never participate in your fights. Why don’t you learn from them?”
A young guard, about twenty years younger than me, was very kind. Whenever she was on duty, she would take me to her office for long talks. She had a very clear understanding of the evilness of the Chinese Communist Party and refused to join it.
The living condition in the detention center was awful. The food we were given was moldy rice and radish soup with hairs and worms in it. The young guard took good care of me and often brought fruit and other food to me.
She was warned by her superior for having a close relationship with me, but she still found opportunities to help me. After I was later transferred to a labor camp, she made a special trip there to visit me.
Another guard almost cried when she told me that I was given a two-year labor camp term. She helped me carrying my luggage with a heavy comforter to the gate of the detention center.
Kind Doctor in the Labor Camp
Upon arrival at the labor camp, I went through a physical examination and was found to have very high blood pressure. The doctor asked me to go to her infirmary to measure my blood pressure three times a day, and she also went to the workshop to ask the guards not to let me work because of my blood pressure.
When I thanked the doctor for her kindness, she responded with an understanding smile. Maybe she got to know who we are through interaction with practitioners incarcerated here earlier. Shortly after, the labor camp refused to keep me because of my health condition. I was thus released just a few weeks into my two-year term.
When I told my family and friends about those kindhearted people, they were all deeply moved by their righteous actions. My husband stated: “In this society today, such people are few and far between. They are very precious!”
