(Minghui.org) A 76-year-old man was sentenced to four years for his faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Cao Changqi, of Mengyin County, Shandong Province, was arrested on May 31, 2021, after Wang Lei, the secretary of Caozhuang Village, led the police to his home. His Falun Gong books were confiscated. Two other practitioners who live in the same village, Wang Huanxia and Zhang Xiuping, were harassed.
Mr. Cao was first held at the Yinan County Detention Center and then transferred to the Mengyin County Detention Center. It’s recently confirmed by Minghui.org that he was sentenced to four years and has been taken to the Shandong Province Men’s Prison.
According to available data collected by Minghui.org, at least 101 Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced in Shandong in 2021 and thousands more were targeted in various ways.
