(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Liang Guangzhen, 72, was reported to the police when she distributed information about Falun Gong. She was arrested on September 20, 2012, and was later sentenced to four years in prison. Her health was poor when she was released in 2017. Ms. Liang was constantly harassed by the 610 Office staff, officers from the Zhanqian Road Police Station, and local community members after she was released. Her three daughters and her son stayed away from her, fearing they would be implicated. Ms. Liang is now mentally unstable and appears to have suffered a mental collapse.
Mr. Li Yongzhi and Mr. Jia Fengzhong were tried in the Zunhua City Court on March 10 and 11, 2022 respectively. Mr. Li was sentenced to one year and one month in prison, and Mr. Jia to one year in prison and fined 2000 yuan.
Ms. Zhao Aihua has not been heard from for nearly a year. It is said that Ms. Zhao was arrested in April 2021.
Mr. Yu Baiqing will be tried online by the Huangdao District Court at 9:30 a.m., March 18, 2022.
Ms. Cong Ruimin was arrested by officers from the Longnan Police Department on the morning of March 14, 2022.
Three practitioners in their 70s, Ms. Wang Biying, Ms. Fang Quanxiu, and Ms. Lyu Mingrong, were arrested on the street by police on the morning of March 4, 2022. They were taken to the Xinqiao Police Station first and then transferred to the Beiganggu Township Police Station. Ms. Lyu Mingrong’s home was ransacked and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder was confiscated. The three practitioners were released around 7 p.m. that evening.
Ms. Wang Jinzhen, 82, was arrested by officers from the Changzhuang Police Station and the Dezhou District Police Department on the afternoon of March 5, 2022. Her home was ransacked.
Seven people from the Pingchuan Police Department and the local community went to Ms. Li Fenglan’s home on March 14, 2022. They ransacked her home and confiscated her personal belongings including two e-readers, three cell phones, one computer, one media player, three SD cards, more than 10 Falun Gong books, and several booklets.
Ms. Li was taken to the police department for questioning. She was put on the “tiger bench” twice during the interrogation. Ms. Li refused to cooperate. She was released around 8:30 p.m. that night.
Mr. Xu Jirong was on the wanted list and was arrested on the street by officers in Qinhuangdao City on March 13, 2022. He is currently detained in the No.1 Detention Center of Qinhuangdao City.
Ms. Zheng Ru met a new police officer when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the street. She was arrested by officers from the Xilin Police Station on February 22, 2022. She was body searched and the amulets and money imprinted with Falun Gong messages she had were confiscated. She was transferred to the Yong’an Police Station and was released later that day.
Ms. Yang Guomei from Fuping County and one of her relatives went out to distribute truth clarifying materials and came back home around noon on February 15, 2022. They were recorded by a surveillance camera. An hour later, four police officers came to her home. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and some recent articles by Falun Gong’s founder. The police asked who supplied the materials but Ms. Yang refused to answer questions or cooperate with them.
Mr. Zhang Yuhua, over 50, lives with her mother in her 80s in Daxing District. She was arrested at home by officers from the Linxiao Police Station on the afternoon of March 7, 2022. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Dawa Detention Center.
