(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 42 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Zhiru and Mr. Li Lianjie Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Zhiru, nearly 80, was arrested and detained on August 13, 2021. She was recently sentenced to two years in prison.

Mr. Li Lianjie was arrested recently. It was learned that he was sentenced to three years in prison.

2. [Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province] Peng Biao Sentenced to Prison

Peng Biao (gender unknown) from Chengguan Town of Panzhou City was arrested on March 27, 2020 for clarifying the truth of Falun Gong online. Peng was detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Liupanshui City. 

Peng was informed by the detention center around April 15, 2021 that he or she was sentenced to three years and six months in prison by the Liupanshui City Court. Pen has been transferred from the detention center to the No. 6 Ward of Duyun Prison. Four inmates are arranged to watch Peng in the prison. 

3. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners Face Second Hearing

Four practitioners, Ms. Chen Liping, Ms. Wan Xiaoping, Ms. Yang Jinfeng, and Ms. Wan Jinlian, will be tried for the second time in the Xihu District Court on the morning of September 24, 2021. 

The practitioners were tried in the Xihu District Court for the first time on the afternoon of December 21, 2020. No sentences were pronounced in court. The verdicts were announced on the morning of January 4, 2021. Ms. Chen Liping, Ms. Wan Xiaoping and Ms. Yang Jinfeng were all sentenced to four years and two months in prison and fined 30,000 yuan. Ms. Wan Jinlian was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 5000 yuan. Three practitioners filed an appeal to the Nanchang City Intermediate Court. 

Four practitioners were placed under residential surveillance for six months by the Xihu District Court on August 27, 2021.

4. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Cases Against Mr. Zhang Zhiwen and Ms. Wang Submitted to Court

Mr. Zhang Zhiwen and Ms. Wang were arrested at home by officers from the Zhuji Town Police Station in Huaiyang District on June 20, 2021 when they distributed truth clarifying materials. The police confiscated their Falun Gong books, media players, cell phones, and other items. They have been detained for nearly three months. Their cases have been submitted to the court. 

Mr. Zhang Zhiwen was detained in the Xinmi Prison of Zhengzhou City for four years from 2008 to 2011. It is said that he may face a five-year sentence this time.

5. [Huili County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tan Fang Harassed

Ms. Tan Fang was harassed at home on September 12, 2021. Wang Zhiwei from the Guangchang Road Community led some people from the provincial work force to her home. These people asked Ms. Tan about Falun Gong. Ms. Tan showed them the legal document from her son’s lawyer when her son was persecuted. The title was, “It’s Legal for One to Have Spiritual Belief.” These people slandered the lawyer and threatened Ms. Tan. They stayed at her home for more than a hour. 

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Shude Persecuted in Prison

Practitioners who were detained in No. 5 Ward of Dongling Prison, including Mr. Zhang Shude, have been subjected to intensified persecution. Mr. Zhang was watched by two inmates. He was forced to sit on a small stool during the day and was awakened by the inmates whenever he closed his eyes. His four limbs were tied at night to prevent him from doing the exercises. He was not allowed to make phone calls or be visited by his family members. He was only allowed to spend up to 50 yuan per month. 

7. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Minfu Faces Trial

Mr. Li Minfu from the Wuqing District was informed that he would be tried in the No.10 Court Room on the third floor of Wuqing District Court at 8:30 a.m. on September 27, 2021. 

8. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhang Chunyan and Ms. Qian Guiling Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhang Chunyan and Ms. Qian Guling from Lanxi County were arrested in the Central Shopping Mall by police officer Rong Li on the morning of August 23, 2021. More than 20 amulets and two USB drives were confiscated from Ms. Zhang Chunyan. The practitioners were taken to the police department. They were tied to metal chairs and interrogated. Ms. Zhang refused to cooperate. They were detained for 15 days and were released on September 7, 2021. 

9. [Yongzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Linqiang Arrested and Detained

Mr. Wang Linqiang, 46, from the Lingling District was arrested on September 3, 2021. He is currently detained in the Lingling District Detention Center. 

10. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Hongyan Arrested

Ms. Zhao Hongyan, around 65, was arrested by officers from the Minzhu Street Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong at the bus stop near the kindergarten of the municipal government on September 14, 2021. Later her home was ransacked by officers from the Hebei Street Police Station including deputy Pu and the director of the local community. 

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jin Chunxia and Ms. Shi Shuxia Harassed

Ms. Jin Chunxia from the Shuangcheng District was harassed by officer Li Hongjiu from the Dongfeng Police Station on September 10, 2021. She was photographed. 

The police tried to find Ms. Shi Shuxia recently but failed. They arrested her two younger brothers and detained them for one day. 

12. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested 

Five practitioners were arrested by people from the Zhenjiang Temple Police Station and the Nanxiaoqu Community on September 9, 2021. The arrest was arranged by Xu Jun, head of the Chuanshan District Domestic Security Division. The practitioners are 72-year-old Ms. Jiang Qirong, Ms. Liang Suqiong in her 50s, Ms. Li Surong, Ms. Jiang Liqun in her 50s, and 78-year-old Ms. Feng Suying. 

The police went to Ms. Feng Suying’s home that afternoon and confiscated two printers, her Falun Gong books, and other items. Ms. Feng was released around 7 p.m. that evening. Ms. Jiang Qirong was released on the same day. The other three practitioners, Ms. Liang Suqiong, Ms. Jiang Liqun and Ms. Li Surong, were taken to the Yongxing Town Detention House. 

13. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Guiqing and Ms. Liu Yufen Arrested

Ms. Zhu Guiqing and Ms. Liu Yufen from Jiutai District were reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken to the Tuanjie Police Station in the Jiutai District on the afternoon of September 14, 2021. 

Later more than twelve officers from the police station ransacked Ms. Liu Yufen’s home. They also arrested Ms. Liu’s son. Her son was released later that evening. 

14. [Beijing] Ms. Cui Shufeng and Ms. Lei Ying Arrested

Elderly practitioners Ms. Cui Shufeng and Ms. Lei Ying were videotaped and reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Xinli on August 8, 2021. They were arrested by officers from Xinyuanli Police Station. Ms. Cui Shufeng’s home was ransacked on the same day. Several Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. Ms. Cui Shufeng was detained in the Chaoyang District. Ms. Lei Ying was released due to her physical condition. Ms. Cui was placed under official arrest on September 7, 2021. 

15. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Alian Missing

No one has seen or heard from Alian (gender unknown) for nearly ten days. 

16. [Beihai City, Guangxi Province] Mr. Li Fengnan and Ms. Li Daoqiong Harassed

People from the political and legal affairs committees, local police stations and the neighborhood community harassed many practitioners through home visits or phone calls including Mr. Li Fengnan and Ms. Li Daoqiong. The two practitioners were pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which they refused. The people claimed they would come again. 

17. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chu Guirong Harassed

Ms. Chu Guirong was harassed at home multiple times by officers Li Qiang and Wu Haibin from the Dongshan Police Station. Ms. Chu’s home was ransacked. Her husband received harassing phone calls from the police station. The police officers even went to her children’s school twice. 

18. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xu Zhiqiong Harassed

Ms. Xu Zhiqiong was harassed at home by three officers from the Mengyang Police Station on the afternoon of September 8, 2021. She was pressured to make a statement. Two more officers went to her home again in the evening to harass her. 

19. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Deng Wanying was sentenced to nine years in prison and fined 50,000 yuan. Ms. Lei Huanying was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan. Ms. Luo Taihui was sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 10,000 yuan. Gou Zhengqiong (gender unknown), was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. 

20. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Case Against Mr. Lu Kaili Submitted to the Procuratorate

Mr. Lu Kaili was arrested at home by officers from the Malanzi Police Station on June 20, 2021. His home was ransacked and his Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. He was officially arrested on July 8, 2021. His case is now submitted to the Ganjingzi Procuratorate. 

Mr. Lu has been imprisoned for a total of 13 years because he persists in his faith, Falun Gong. He was subjected to various tortures during his detention. 

21. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Jiwu Arrested 

Mr. Wang Jiwu lives in Yonghe Village, Handian Town, Shuangcheng District. He was arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station on September 11, 2021. His car was confiscated at the same time. He was transferred to the Wuchang Police Station the next day. His family was told on the afternoon of September 14 that Mr. Wang would be released if they paid the police 20,000 yuan, otherwise he would be sentenced to prison.

22. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Xueying Harassed

Ms. Li Xueying lives in Tiexi Village, Hanchang Town, Dayi County. She was harassed at home by four town officials on September 28, 2021. She was warned not to go out to talk to people about Falun Gong or distribute materials. Ms. Li advised the officials to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. 

23. [Qianxi County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Guiping Fined

Ms. Zhao Guiping in her 70s was fined 5,000 yuan by the Zunhua City Court on September 6, 2021. 

24. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms Cao Xiaomei’s Home Ransacked

Many police officers including Liang Yufeng, head of the Zhuozhou City Domestic Security Division, went to Ms. Cao Xiaomei’s home in Zhuotong Village on September 14, 2021. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, truth clarifying materials and 3000 yuan in cash. Ms. Cao was not at home at that time. 

25. [Linli County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhou Cuilan Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhou Cuilan in her 60s was arrested and detained by police in Shimen County for distributing truth clarifying materials in Baiyang Town of Shimen County. Several police officers from Shimen County went to Ms. Zhou’s home in the afternoon. They ransacked her home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and a few CDs.
