(Minghui.org) The most recent “Zero-Out” campaign carried out by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has mobilized both police and residential committees to harass Falun Gong practitioners and their family members, aiming to force every Falun Gong practitioner on the government’s blacklist to renounce their faith.
Through the incident I am about to share, one can see that the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong has nowhere to go, and the end is near. Knowing that they can’t shake Falun Gong practitioners’ faith, no matter what persecution tactics they use, some perpetrators have began to target the practitioners’ family members and tried to have them sign renouncing statements on behalf of the practitioners, so that they can accomplish their tasks. What they didn’t expect was that many of the practitioners’ family members refused to cooperate with such an absurd demand, after witnessing the persecution for decades and understanding how evil the CCP is.
Below is the story.
My younger son received a call from a local police officer surnamed Sun, who said that he was only delivering a message for the residential committee director Liu, who had some forms for my son to fill out.
A day later, Sun called my younger son again and urged him to go to the residential committee to get the forms.
My son went and picked up the three forms. The staff members asked him to fill out the forms right then and there.
My son looked at the forms, which were promises to “denounce,” “repent,” and “expose and criticize” Falun Gong. He became furious, “You want me to sign these?! I cannot! But I will show this to my mother.”
“My mother became healthy after she started practicing Falun Gong. I personally witnessed her health improvement. She saved us money and time. She is nearly 80, but still lives a healthy and peaceful life. She is grateful to Falun Gong for saving her life, and now you want her to betray Falun Gong! Do you even have any basic sense of morality? You even try to trick me into signing something for her? There is no way.”
My son came to my home and told me all about what had happened to him for the last two days. I told him that I was proud of him for doing the right thing, and asked him to return the forms to the residential committee. I told him if they wanted to talk, they should come to me.
He returned the forms to them immediately and told them never disturb him again. Two to three days later, three staffers from the residential committee came to bother my son again. One of them, a young man, put his hand on the door frame and wanted to go into the home. My son said, “I don’t have time today, and I am on my way out to run errands. Take your hand away.” The young man refused to move his hand. “Alright then, I will call the police for break-in and entry!” The young man left moments later.
After failing to pressure my younger son into signing the forms, they found my older son, who was working in another city. They called him and said, “We tried to ask your brother to cooperate with us, to sign a statement for your mother, but he refused. Can you help us...”
“Why should I cooperate with you? How low can you go? Is that how you do things? What you’re doing is wrong, to begin with. How can others cooperate with you? When others do not cooperate with you, they are doing the right thing...” They hung up the phone before my son stopped talking.
Days later, someone knocked on my door at around 4 p.m. I opened the door and saw several staff members from the residential committee. I let them in. They stayed for about one hour, but none of them brought up the topic of Falun Gong.
After they left, they called my younger son’s wife and tried to see if she could sign the statements on my behalf. She said to them, “Why don’t you talk to my mother-in-law yourselves? By the way, this isn’t the right way to treat elderly people. When you treat them nicely, you are also doing yourself a favor!” Unable to refute her, the officials hung up the call.
