(Minghui.org) While sending forth righteous thoughts over these past 20 years, we often added some specific content targeting our region, following instructions from our local coordinator.
After reading the Minghui editorial “Do Not Change the Nature of Sending Forth Righteous Thoughts,” we realized that we didn’t send forth righteous thoughts correctly, which could explain why the effects of our righteous thoughts weren’t obvious and the persecution still continues.
We realized that we added personal wishes while sending forth righteous thoughts and didn’t fully comply with Master’s requirements. Master told us that Buddhism disappeared in India after some monks didn’t repeat Shakyamuni’s original words while passing it down. We didn’t realize we were making the same mistake.
Master said,
“Disruption of the Fa takes many forms, of which unintentional disruption by disciples themselves is the most difficult to detect. Sakyamuni’s Buddhism began its deterioration in just this way and the lesson is profound.” (“Awakening,” Essentials for Further Advancement)
Master also taught us,
“As soon as some monks discussed Buddhist sutras through the lens of their own interpretations, and did so using ordinary people’s terms, or wrote books of that sort, they immediately dragged people into their own confines. They would put forth interpretations of a Buddhist sutra. Buddha Shakyamuni’s words were of a very high level and contained so much deeper meaning. Yet those monks had enlightened to none of it. That was because their cultivation levels were low! So their words, when taken to heart by Buddhists, lead and confine people to the monk’s own cognitive framework. It seems like a good thing they were doing, as it appears they were encouraging people in the study of Buddhism. But weren’t they in reality undermining Buddha Fa? Undermining Buddha Fa can assume different forms. Some saboteurs praise it and disrupt it at the same time. Such damage is the hardest to detect and see through, and the most damaging. Buddha Shakyamuni’s Dharma is no longer passed down in India precisely because of this.” (“Lessons from Buddhism,” Zhuan Falun Volume II)
After discussion among local practitioners, we decided that when we need to specifically eliminate the evil beings behind the government agencies like the 610 Office, judiciary branches, detention centers, prisons, police departments, or public security organs, we will silently recite Master’s Fa-rectification verses, with just a thought to focus on those departments, but with no other content added in the sending forth of righteous thoughts.
Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
