(Minghui.org) In a recent interview with The Epoch Times, former senior U.S. State Department official Miles Yu said that there is plenty of evidence that exposes the genocide of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
On July 18, 2021, nearly 1,000 Falun Gong practitioners marched in Brooklyn, NY, to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.
Yu, the China policy advisor to former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, is currently a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute. He explained that there is more evidence of a genocide perpetrated against the Falun Gong group in China than there is evidence of a genocide against the Uyghurs. He said, "The documentation of the CCP’s criminality [regarding Falun Gong] is also more apparent and systemic.”

In an email to The Epoch Times on August 9, 2021, Yu wrote: “I am surprised that [a] genocide charge against the CCP re FLG [Falun Gong] has not become a focal point of international human rights campaigns targeting the CCP.”
He added: “When deciding [a] genocide designation, the most difficult legal barrier is to prove ‘intent’ of the perpetrator.” This finding of intent is key in determining a genocide, as opposed to other high international crimes.
He concluded that “it would be much easier to prove this [intent] in the FLG case than the Uyghur case, because the CCP has tried harder to disguise its genocidal repression against the Uyghurs while its repression against the FLG has been more blatant.”
According to The Epoch Times article, genocide is declared illegal in both the U.N. Genocide Convention and U.S. law (18 U.S.C. § 1091). Eradication of both ethnic and religious groups such as the Falun Gong are considered genocide, which isn’t only limited in the form of mass-killing, but also forced conversion. For Falun Gong practitioners in China, they are suffering both the physical eradication (including systematic detention, torture, and organ harvesting) and mental transformation at the same time. To date, millions of practitioners may have died in the organ harvesting crime. Extensive evidence has been revealed by the China Tribunal, which released a full judgement in London in 2020.
In addition to Miles Yu, politicians from many other countries also condemned the CCP’s genocide against Falun Gong.
On February 24, 2021, more than forty politicians from various countries around the world participated in a forum hosted by the International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China (ETAC). With participants from 117 agencies and organizations, this event focused on forced organ harvesting by the CCP.
Canadian Senator Marilou McPhedran stated that the CCP’s live organ harvesting is a crime of genocide, and Falun Gong practitioners are the main persecuted group. The international community needs to take action to stop it.
Two days before the forum, 266 Canadian MPs voted to designate the suppression of Uyghurs in Xinjiang, China, and some other minority groups as a genocide. Senator McPhedran said that she would also like to include Falun Gong practitioners in the list of victims since the persecution against them is also qualified to be called a genocide. She said the large number of witness accounts changed her view of this issue and helped her realize its severity.
Lord Mackenzie of Framwellgate of the UK, wrote on July 20, 2021, “It is truly shocking that in 2021 there is overwhelming evidence of treatment amounting to genocide taking place on an industrial scale in a developed country which sits on the UN Security Council. Atrocities on such a scale have not taken place since the middle of the last century and the world vowed then, that it would not be allowed to happen again... I am glad to speak out with many others in calling for the taking of positive action by the world to bring these atrocities to an end!”
Member of the Japanese House of Representatives Yoshitaka Sakurada said: “The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of human rights has been regarded as ‘genocide’ in the U.S. China is ruled by one party. If it doesn’t resolve its human rights abuses and is not recognized by the international community, it cannot become a first class nation.” He urged Japan to raise its voice to stop human rights abuses.
Ms. Violetta Porowska, a Polish parliamentarian, sent a letter to Falun Gong practitioners who held events in July 2021 to condemn the 22-year-long persecution of Falun Gong.
She wrote, “I strongly condemn the cruel persecution of Falun Gong, especially the cruel crime of live organ harvesting. This crime is a denial of humanity and should not happen today...It is unacceptable to carry out such brutal extermination of these people who are not at fault in any way. Such a heinous crime is incomprehensible and should never have happened.”
