(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Chen Chen is scheduled to be tried by the Litong District Court at 2:30 p.m. on August 4, 2021. Her lawyer is set to defend her innocence.
Practitioners from Wuzhong City, Ms. Zheng Yarong, Ms. Zheng Fengying and her husband Mr. Ma Xiongde, and Ms. Yan Ying from Lingwu City is scheduled to be tried by the Litong District Court in Wuzhong City at 2:30 p.m. on August 5, 2021.
Mr. Zhu Jianhua, in his 60s, has been held in the Dongcheng Detention Center since he was arrested on August 15, 2020.
The prosecutor was not able to provide any evidence during his first court hearing in the No. 4 Court on April 9, 2021. The second virtual court hearing is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. on August 4, 2021.
Ms. Lu Yuying was stalked by plainclothes officers on July 21, 2021. The officers surrounded her home for a week. When she left home, she was surrounded and threatened by more than thirty unidentified persons. When she fled, they pursued her. She jumped from the second floor and was injured, but she managed to escape.
Ms. Sun Lijuan and her husband, Mr. Zhang Baoguo, were arrested at home on April 25, 2021, by officers from the Jiefang District Domestic Security Division, deputy director of Linghe District Domestic Security Division Yan Shengbin, and deputy director of Juyuan Police Station Zhao Ruocong. The officers ransacked their home, seized their Falun Gong books and materials, a computer, four cell phones, and 3,700 yuan in cash.
Mr. Zhang was released on bail after he was detained for 37 days in the Jinzhou Detention Center. Ms. Sun has been held in the Jinzhou Women’s Prison. Her case was submitted to the procuratorate.
Ms. Liu Yumei of Shangzhi City was arrested at her home in the Nangang District, Harbin City on June 10, 2021. The police ransacked the place, seized her notebook computer, a printer, her Falun Gong books, and other items. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Yi Sixiu was harassed and photographed at home by clerks from the village committee in April 2021.
M. Luo Wanxiu was harassed and photographed at home by a male and a female clerk from the village committee in April 2021 and on July 16, 2021.
Ms. Qiu Tieling and Mr. Wang Jinhui were formally arrested. Their cases were submitted to the procuratorate.
Mr. Guo Baojun was harassed at home by two officers from the Nan’ao Police Station on June 11, 2021. The officers confiscated his copy of Zhuan Falun and notebook computer. They harassed him again several days later.
Ms. Cai Xiufang, 98, was arrested by officers from three police stations, Huangqi, Beishan, and Changchunlu, at noon on May 14, 2021, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in a market. They locked her in a metal cage, grabbed her key, and ransacked her home. She was released on bail at 8:00 p.m.
At noon on July 20, 2021, plainclothes officers pretended to verify rental home legal documents and deceived Yang (first name and gender unknown) into opening his or her door. They entered the residence, found and seized Falun Gong materials, and arrested Yang. Yang’s whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Tian Haiying was arrested at home by officers from the Jiulong Police Station on July 29, 2021. Her books and other items were confiscated. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Li Yan works in the Chengshi College. She was harassed at work by a squadron leader from the Daxing Domestic Security Division and four officers from the Huangcun Police Station on the afternoon of June 7, 2021. She was brought home by the officers. They ransacked the place, seized three Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and a new year painting. She was taken to the Daxing Law Enforcement and Case Center, and, that evening, to the Renhe Police Station.
She was harassed at home on the morning of July 26, 2021. She was ordered to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong. She refused.
Ms. Wang Jingli and her husband took a train to the south on July 3, 2021. When she was waiting for ticket check-in in the North Shenyang Railroad Station, two officers came and searched her wallet. They checked every bill she had in cash, found nothing, and left.
The couple returned to Shenyang City on July 5. When they were waiting for the ticket check-in in the local railroad station, an officer ordered them to follow him to the police office. He searched their luggage, found nothing, and let them leave.
Ms. Liu Shufeng and her non-practitioner husband, were arrested at home by deputy director of the Liulin Police Station Han Xi, clerk of the street office Liu Yan, and others on the evening of June 17, 2021. Her Falun Gong books, an incense burner, incense sticks, and picture of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated.
In the police station, the officers ordered her to sign documents renouncing Falun Gong and threatened to detain her if she did not comply. She refused. They then detained her for 15 days in a detention center.
