Clarifying the Facts to People from All Walks of Life

(Minghui.org) I am a 81-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner. I have clarified the facts to different kinds of people for over a decade. Even when it rains or snows, I go to the supermarkets to talk about Dafa, the persecution, and the importance of quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Among the approximately 25,000 people whom I helped quit the CCP and its youth organizations, there have been high level army and government officials, intellectuals, professors, high schools principals, lawyers, and police officers.

Clarifying the Facts

I’ve had only four years of elementary school. Given that I am not highly educated, I rely on several things to help people with much higher education quit the CCP – the wisdom given by Master (Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa), a righteous mind, being persistent, and not fearing hardship. I actively accumulate knowledge and informational materials for clarifying the facts. When I read the Minghui Weekly and other truth-clarification materials and see something that is effective for clarifying the facts, I write it down so I can remember it. This way, I can accumulate more and more ways to help resolve people’s misunderstandings. 

Once, I was talking to several Christians about Falun Dafa. When I talked about quitting the CCP organizations, an elderly lady got angry and said bad things. I remained calm and just looked at her kindly. Then, her daughter-in-law said to her, “Mother, don’t be like this to her. She is so kind!” She then stopped being angry.

Master said, 

“All of this in fact holds true for your clarifying the truth as well. If you are able to all keep compassion in your hearts as you interact with the person, regardless of his attitude, then in the depths of his soul, or on the knowing side of his being, he will understand.” (“Fa Teaching Given in Manhattan,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. X)

I once clarified the facts to a professor for over 50 minutes, but she would not quit the CCP. I wanted to give up twice and leave. But, I remembered Master’s Fa and thought that no matter what attitude she had, I must save her. In the end, when I talked about the June 4 Tiananmen incident, she finally understood. She said that she was a student leader back then, and was punished for taking the students to the streets.

Quitting the CCP

I met the wife of a manager from my former workplace in the summer of 2014. We had not seen each other for over a dozen years. She was very surprised when she saw me. “How come you still look so young and so energetic?” she asked. I said, “I practice Falun Dafa. I used to have more than 10 chronic diseases, including high blood pressure and arthritis, but they were all cured after practicing Dafa.” 

“I believe you that Falun Dafa is good. But you guys oppose the Party and attack the government,” she replied, repeating a common misunderstanding about Dafa practitioners.

I remembered that Master told us to clarify the facts with people following their attachments and misunderstandings. So I said to her, “It’s not like that. You know, Confucius was heavily criticized during the Cultural Revolution. But he had passed away 2,500 years ago. He did not oppose the Party or attack the government. Then, why was he targeted, and in the CCP’s words, ‘criticized until notorious, then stepped on with 10,000 feet, and never let him turn things around?’ China’s ex-vice president Liu Shaoqi always supported the CCP and the government, but he was criticized just like Confucius. He died in a prison in Henan Province, and was not even mentioned by his real name when he died.” She then said, “That’s exactly why I didn’t join the CCP, because I saw through all their political movements.” She then agreed to quit the Communist Youth League and the Young Pioneers.

Another time, I met a gentleman of about 60 years. When I clarified the facts to him he said, “You all are always doing things in secret. I see a lot of materials in the hallways of my apartment building.” I said, “Falun Dafa’s Master imparted Dafa to save people. As Dafa practitioners, we have the responsibility and mission because Dafa’s Master told us to save the precious Chinese people. Thus, we try to use many different ways to reach out to people and clarify the facts. We do this because we know that life is precious, and one can only be safe if one knows these facts.” He understood and his entire family quit the CCP.

Receiving Benefits or Experiencing Retribution

I once talked with a gentleman who was about 40 years old. He said he had never joined any of the CCP organizations, but he doesn’t believe in divine beings. I remembered that Master told us, “...the “three withdrawals” is not the goal, clarifying the truth to save people is the goal.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2016 New York Fa Conference,” Team Blue Translation)

I told him that good and bad actions result in either benefits or retribution. I said, “I have a young friend. She is a very good person, but she has not had a happy life, and she experienced financial difficulties. She got divorced twice, and just got married for a third time. She asked a fortuneteller why, and he told her that she was a male in the previous life who did a lot of bad things, and thus in this lifetime she was poor and had problem marriages. This is how heaven’s law punishes bad people, and divine beings arrange one’s next life.” He then gave up being an atheist.

In 2014 I met two Christians. I first clarified the facts to the older person, who was 84 years old. I said to her, “People at our age tend to believe more in traditional values and revere gods and heaven. Falun Dafa is rooted in Buddhist tradition and it is a very high-level spiritual practice. Its principles are Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and it has miraculous health benefits. 

“There are people in over a hundred countries who practice Falun Dafa, and governments support it. The Chinese regime is the only one that persecutes it. Over 4,300 practitioners have been persecuted to death and hundreds of thousands were jailed. Heaven will not allow the persecution of good people like this! Heaven will destroy the CCP, and protect good people.” She also agreed to quit the CCP.

I then talked with the younger person who was in her 50s. “I saw that you kept pulling her arm and wanted her to leave. I know that Christians only believe in one god. But China has 5,000 years of believing in divinities. In our traditional culture we practice Buddhism, Taoism, or Confucianism. Did we have Christianity back then? How could there only be one god?” She suddenly understood. I then talked about how the CCP destroyed traditional values and beliefs and killed many innocent people. Then she wanted to hear more, and wouldn’t let me go. In the end, she and her whole family quit the CCP.

Because of indoctrination by the CCP, I often encounter elderly people who curse at me. They would say, “The CCP is great because it gives me retirement money. Does Falun Dafa give you money?” I then always reply, “Falun Dafa is our belief, and it teaches us to be good people. It also requires us to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. But no one pays us money. For you, the retirement money was not given to you by the CCP. It is yours, because you have worked hard for many years. The CCP doesn’t do any work, so how does it have money? It receives the taxes you pay, and from corruption. Would it give you any money if you had not worked before?”

I once met an official from my former workplace. I said, “Director, I practice Falun Dafa and we do things based on the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It has given me great health.” Before I even finished, he followed, “You don’t need to tell me. Who doesn’t curse the CCP behind its back? My college classmate lived in Beijing and he saw with his own eyes how the CCP soldiers killed students with guns and tanks. They then claimed that these students rioted.” As I talked more, he couldn’t agree more with me and he quit the CCP.

When I clarify the facts with younger students, I tell them, “Let’s quit the Young Pioneers. Then if you sincerely recite ‘Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ your grades will certainly improve, and you will have success. The great physicist Einstein said that he benefited a lot from his belief in God. The great inventor Edison said that his success came from one percent inspiration and 99% perspiration and the 1% inspiration was greater because it came from God.” Most students then agree to quit the CCP's junior organizations.

When I clarify the facts to college students I give another example: “The United Nations took a survey of 300 of the most accomplished scientists in the United States. The conclusion was that 92% of them were theists. After you quit the CCP, if you sincerely recite ‘Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,’ you will receive blessings. This is because people receive blessings when they believe in the divine.”
