Los Angeles, California: Falun Dafa Practitioners Spread the Truth Over Memorial Day Weekend

(Minghui.org) During the recent 3-day Memorial Day weekend in the U.S., Falun Dafa practitioners from Orange County and Los Angeles gathered at the beautiful and popular Main Beach in Laguna Beach, California. They did the exercises, introduced the practice to passersby, raised awareness of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, and held a signature drive to oppose the brutal 22-year persecution.

The practice site received heavy traffic from pedestrians and motorists. Almost everyone accepted materials about Falun Dafa and the persecution in China, and they were eager to interact with the practitioners. 

The graceful exercise music and peaceful ambiance attracted passers-by who came to learn the exercises from time to time. Many people said that they could feel the energy when the practitioners were doing the exercises. Some wanted to learn the exercises immediately, while others said that they would return to learn them next week.

One young man who learned the exercises was able to sit in full lotus on his first go.

There was a married couple who learned all five sets of exercises at once. The wife said that her husband typically doesn’t like to try new things, so she was quite surprised when he agreed to learn the Falun Dafa exercises and even picked them up better than she did. The grateful couple said that they will do a deep dive into the practice when they return home and will come back to do the exercises again.

One tourist brought his twin daughters over to watch the exercise demonstration. He signed the petition and thanked the practitioner for coming over to talk to him about the practice.

A Christian woman shed tears after she heard about how Falun Dafa practitioners are being persecuted in China. She said that she will pray for practitioners.

A young man from Russia who resides in the U.S. stopped by. After watching the exercise demonstration, he told a practitioner that his parents suffered a lot of hardship before the fall of the former Soviet Union and that today’s youth often forget the dangers of communism. He also signed the petition.

A local student signed the petition and said that he supports Falun Dafa practitioners and is against the persecution.

Many tourists who passed by signed the petition and also said that they would like to share information about Falun Dafa on their social media platforms. One woman said that she would tell her relatives, friends and colleagues what she learned. There were a lot of younger people who told the practitioners they understand the dangers of communism and that they’d also share the information they learned that day.
