(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Zhengding County, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Shulin Facing Trial
Mr. Liu Shulin was arrested by officers from the Zhengding County Police Department and the Xinle City Police Department on May 19, 2020, and his home was ransacked. He was indicted on June 28, 2020, and has since been detained in the Xinle City Detention Center. His case was submitted to the Zhengding Court and he is scheduled to be tried in mid-May 2021.
2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Meng Jie Arrested
Ms. Meng Jie, 82, from Gaoyang County, was arrested at home on March 18, 2021, and her home was ransacked. Her personal belongings, including a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a set of Falun Gong books, a computer, four printers, and truth-clarifying materials, were confiscated. Ms. Meng Jie was detained in the Gaoyang Detention House. The police wanted to send her to the Qingyuan Detention Center on the third day but failed. She was returned to the detention house. She refused to sign any documents during her detention. She was bailed out by her family on March 25, 2021 with 20,000 yuan.
3. [Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Yu Dongxiang Harassed
Ms. Yu Dongxiang, 81, is a retiree from the Fuzhou Experimental Primary School. Her son, coerced by the police and the director Wu in Mutang Road Community, led those people to her home at around 7:00 p.m. on March 18, 2021. They pressured Ms. Yu to sign a four statements document to renounce Falun Gong, and threatened to arrest her if she refused. Ms. Yu did not cooperate.
4. [Shanghai] Ms. Qiu Xiaomin's Pension Suspended
Ms. Qiu Xiaomin from Jing’an District, has not received her pension since December 2020. Nearly six months have passed and she has not received any notice or explanation about it.
5. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Harassed
Two officers from the Xicheng Police Station went to Ms. Lin Shunhua’s home on the afternoon of April 13, 2021, but she was not at home at the time. Four officers went to her home again on the next morning. They pressured her to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused. They tried to get her phone number and her son’s contact information, but failed.
Mr. Liao Anchai was harassed at home by Director Wu in Hancheng Community on the morning of April 19, 2021. Mr. Liao was pressured to sign the three statements and to provide information about his family. He did not cooperate.
Ms. Ding Fanglian was harassed by Ma Qunjiao, a neighborhood inspector from the Jiankang Road Community, on the morning of April 20, 2021. She was pressured to sign a three statements document, and the futures of her children and her grandchildren were threatened. Ms. Ding did not let the person into her home, and refused to sign anything.
Ms. Ge Shali was harassed at home by staff members from the Liushulin Community on April 21, 2021. They pressured her to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused.
Ms. Cen Mei received a harassing call from the Xicheng Police Station on April 13, 2021, and was told to meet the officers in the residential courtyard that afternoon. During the meeting, she was told that police were ordered to photograph her home, that she was to fill out a form with her personal information, and that it was part of the “Zero-out Campaign.” Ms. Cen didn’t cooperate.
Ms. Zhang Jiacheng was arrested by officers from the Lizhou Police Station on April 22, 2021. Her daughter bailed her out with her salary card and the real estate certificate.
6. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Fu Huiya Harassed
Ms. Fu Huiya from the West Lake District was forced to attend brainwashing sessions in the local community during the second half of 2020. She later left home to avoid the persecution.
Ms. Fu returned home not long afterwards, in mid-April 2021. She was harassed at home by local community staff members and was pressured to participate in brainwashing sessions.
7. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Huang Jinfeng Under Residential Surveillance
When Ms. Huang Jinfeng, 87, was on her way to a farm market at around 8:00 a.m. on April 26, 2021, she was taken to the Qianxi Police Station, where she was interrogated. She was released after she had a severe headache and was unable to raise her head. Her home was ransacked. She was informed the next day that she had been placed under residential surveillance.
8. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Feng Liguo’s Pension Suspended
Mr. Feng Liguo didn’t receive his pension in April. After inquiring with the Social Security Bureau of Jimo District, he received a notice on April 27, 2021 and was required to sign it. It stated that according to “Response Letter Regarding Pension Insurance Benefits After Sentence of Retired Persons” by the General Office of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (No. 44 of 2001), and “Notice Regarding the Implementation of the Provincial Government Document No. 109 of 1998” by the former Shandong Provincial Labor Department, the pension paid to Mr. Feng during his detention from February 2016 to August 2017 would be withheld.
9. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Shuqin Missing
Ms. Ma Shuqin, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Longfeng Police Station on March 26, 2021 for distributing the truth-clarifying materials in Tawan, Dongzhou District. Later the police took her to her home at midnight and ransacked her home. Her Dafa books and the truth-clarifying materials were confiscated.
Her daughter went to the Longfeng Police Station to inquire about her whereabouts but was ignored. Ms. Ma has been missing for more than 40 days.
10. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Aiqun Arrested
Ms. Sun Aiqun from the Fushan District was arrested by officers from the Zangjia Township Police Station on the morning of May 5, 2021. Her whereabouts are unknown.
11. [Shanghai] Ms. Qu Mujie Forced to Have Blood Sample Taken
Ms. Qu Mujie, 84, from Putuo District, was harassed at home by officers from the Ganquan Police Station and community staff members on April 28, 2021. These people forcibly took blood samples from her.
12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Huifang Arrested
Ms. Zhou Huifang from Qingshan District, 57, was arrested by officers from No. 110 Street Sub-district on April 23, 2021, after she took her grandchild to kindergarten. Her home was ransacked and she was placed under 15-day custody.
13. [Chibi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Lai Yongcai Arrested and Detained
Mr. Lai Yongcai from Chebu Town was arrested on April 12, 2021 and detained for 15 days in the Jiayu Detention Center.
14. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Changxiu Tried and Sentenced in Court
Ms. Xie Changxiu, 81, was tried by the Shifang City Court on April 16, 2021 and sentenced to two years in prison with three years of probation and a fine of 1000 yuan. Her family members were not allowed to enter the court room during the trial.
Ms. Xie Changxiu was arrested on September 30, 2020 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.
