(Minghui.org) The day after the 22^nd World Falun Dafa Day (May 13, 2021), Minghui Publishing received the Benjamin Franklin Award given by The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for its first book Minghui Report: The 20-Year Persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a mind-body practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since July 1999.

In the past 22 years, as the central communication hub for Falun Gong practitioners, Minghui.org has been receiving scores of first-hand reports from across China each day, putting it in a unique position to provide the most up-to-date information about the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

“Several significant things happened around World Falun Dafa Day this year. Days before the anniversary, the U.S. government announced to sanction the former 610 Office director for persecuting Falun Gong. On World Falun Dafa Day, the State Department tweeted in support of Falun Gong. And the day after, the Minghui Report was given a prestigious award.” said Lan Shu, a personality with radio network Sound of Hope.

CCP’s Lies Against Falun Gong Going on for 20+ Years

Lan Shu recalled that shortly after the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, he had the opportunity to talk to a county-level government official in the U.S. That official told him that he supported Falun Gong because religious freedom is one’s basic human right, but he himself didn’t know much about Falun Gong and during his interaction with officials from the Chinese consulate, they were trying to depict Falun Gong as a cult.

“The CCP has gone all out to demonize Falun Gong, both in China and western countries. Just take a look at how far they have infiltrated the community here in the U.S.” Lan Shu said.

He said many people in the West still don’t know much about Falun Gong. While talking to an acquaintance last month, he realized that person even had very deep misunderstandings about Falun Gong.

“It’s hard to imagine how much the CCP’s lies against Falun Gong have poisoned the western world,” commented Lan Shu.

CCP Is the Biggest Threat to the Free World

He added that the massive persecution of Falun Gong has been ignored for too long by Western countries. If they had taken it seriously since the beginning and thought about why the CCP had to attack a peaceful group of tens of millions of people, they wouldn’t have spent the last 20 years feeding the CCP tiger, only to have it turn around and bite them.

“Falun Gong’s principles, Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, are the bedrock of morality in human society. When the CCP persecutes such a large group of people who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, it only tells us that the CCP has no moral standard and is a rogue regime. But this has taken Western society 20 years to find out.”

“I think Western society is waking up now and they are reviewing the history in the past 20 years. I believe they will take the issue of Falun Gong very seriously.”

Minghui Report Is of Great Significance

Lan Shu also talked about the significance of the award-winning Minghui report. “If Western countries are going to hold the CCP accountable for its genocide and crimes against humanity, they would have to be able to present concrete evidence for it, not just paying lip service. From that perspective, the Minghui Report is of tremendous significance in providing comprehensive information about the persecution of Falun Gong. Its role can’t be replaced.”
