Additional Persecution News from China – March 26, 2020 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Bai Yufu and His Wife Ms. Zhang Lixin Sentenced to Six Years and Four Years in Prison Respectively

A family member of Mr. Bai Yufu and his wife Zhang Lixin called the detention center on March 23, 2021 and learned that the couple had been sentenced to six years and four years in prison respectively. The couple is appealing their case.

2. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Jiang He Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Jiang He was sentenced to three years in prison by the Nanming District Court.

3. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Rao Hongsheng Faces Trial

Rao Hongsheng (gender unknown) will be tried in the Yi’an District Court on March 26, 2021.

4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Hongzhi Tried in Court

Ms. Zhao Hongzhi, 82, will be tried by the Shengyang Intermediate Court on March 25, 2021.

Ms. Zhao was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan during the first court session on December 31, 2020.

5. [Xinmin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Guizhi Persecuted

Ms. Li Guizhi was arrested by Guo Jinjian, a deputy from Xibei Police Station, and Tong Jingtao, a deputy from the Xinmin Domestic Security Division on January 20, 2021. Her home was ransacked and she was taken to the Xibei Police Station for interrogation. During the interrogation, her hands were tightly cuffed. She was not allowed to sleep, use the restroom, or even drink water. She was detained for more than two months. Her case was recently returned to the Xinmin Police Department.

Ms. Li’s husband went to the Xibei Police Station on March 22, 2021 and asked for the list of items taken from their home when it was raided, but he did not get it. He went there again on March 24, 2021. He was arrested and placed under 10-day detention. He is held in the Xinmin Detention Center. The police refused to give the official detention paper when they were asked for it.

Ms. Wang Yanjie was arrested along with Ms. Li, at the same time. Her case was also returned to the Xinmin Police Department.

6. [Da’an City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Shuqin Arrested and Detained

Ms. Zhao Shuqin was intercepted and arrested at the Changchun Railway Station on March 9, 2021 when she took a train from Da’an City to Liangfang City to see her daughter, who was seriously ill. The police claimed that she was arrested because it was a sensitive date, during the CCP’s “two sessions,” and she was carrying items related to her spiritual belief. Ms. Zhao is detained in the Baicheng City Detention Center.

7. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Yuan Youmin and Mei Xinying Arrested

Since the Chinese New Year of 2021, the Falun Gong practitioners have been harassed and arrested in Fuyang City during the Zero-out campaign.

Yuan Youmin (gender unknown) from Zhoupeng Town of Yingquan District was arrested and detained in the Fuyang City Detention Center in mid-March 2021.

Mei Xinying (gender unknown) from Datianji Town of Yingquan District was taken to a brainwashing center in mid-March 2021.

8. [Gong’an County, Hubei Province] Xie Shengying Arrested

Xie Shengying (gender unknown) from Jiazhuyuan Town was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong on March 3, 2021, and was arrested. Xie was taken to the hospital for a physical exam twice by Chen Yang, director of the Jiazhuyuan Police Station, but failed it. Since the detention center refused to admit Xie due to poor health, Xie was released on March 24, 2021.

9. [Duchang County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Yin Xianping Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yin Xianping talked to a plainclothes police officer about Falun Gong on the street in Duchang County City and was videotaped on February 24, 2021. She was later arrested and has been detained in the Jiujiang City Detention Center since then.

10. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] 84-year-old Ms. Wang Xuebin Harassed

Ms. Wang Xuebin, 84, was harassed at home on March 23, 2021. Two officers from the Yingzhou District Police Department, three from the Fulin Road Police Station, and five from the Heshuiweizhuang Community came to her home. They searched and video recorded at her home, and did not leave until 5:00 p.m. that day.

The police returned at around 9:00 p.m. that night. They blew the car horn, yelled loudly, and pounded on the door. When Ms. Wang refused to open the door they left after 10:00 p.m.

Because Ms. Wang no longer felt safe in her home, she left.

11. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Zongguo Arrested and Detained

Mr. Chen Zongguo from Xiangyang Town was arrested by officers from the Xiangyang Town Police Station and the Mengyang Town Police Station in Pengzhou City on March 18, 2021. His wife and 88-year-old mother went to the Xiangyang Town Police Station on the morning of March 25, 2021 and inquired about his whereabouts. They were told that Mr. Chen was detained in the Pengzhou City Detention Center.

12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Feng Lianhua Missing

Ms. Feng Lianhua from Wuchang District has been missing since March 10, 2021.

13. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Han Baogui Harassed

Mr. Han Baogui lives in Sigezhuang Village, Baichigan Township of Zhuozhou City. Village official Yang Zhanying harassed him and his wife at home on the morning of March 24, 2021. The couple was pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which they refused to do. The village official then went to the home of Mr. Han’s son and threatened Mr. Han's daughter-in-law, saying her child’s education would be adversely affected if she didn't persuade Mr. Han to sign the statement and to have his photo taken.

14. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Zhaoyu Harassed

Two officers from the Shengcheng Police Station and two from the Shouguang brainwashing center came to the home of Mr. Zhang Zhaoyu’s adult child in Beiguan Village on March 24, 2021. They searched the home and confiscated several Dafa books. They stopped by the village office and claimed that they would soon arrest Mr. Zhang.

15. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cai Zefang’s Nephew Harassed

Ms. Cai Zefang’s nephew was told to stop by the Yingshan County Procuratorate in early March 2021. He was requested to sign a guarantee statement for Ms. Cai’s release on bail pending trial.

16. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Jingyuan’s Lawyer Not Allowed To Read Case Files or Enter Innocent Plea

Mr. Zhang Jingyuan’s lawyer went to the Dehui City Court to review the case on the morning of March 25, 2021. However, the judge Wang Rongfu refused to meet with the lawyer or give him permission to read the case files. The lawyer was also not allowed to plead innocent in court
