(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chongqing] Case Against Ms. Duan Zaiying Submitted to Procuratorate

Ms. Duan Zaiying, 72, was arrested by officers from the Longzhouwan Police Station in the Banan District when she was talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers market on April 29, 2021. She was then detained in the Jieshi Town Detention Center in the Banan District. The Jiulongpo District Procuratorate has submitted the case against her to the Jiulongpo District Court. Ms. Duan is now facing trial.

2. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yu Lan’s Family Harassed

Ms. Yu Lan was seized by officers from the Mian County Domestic Security Division in 2016. Her family has not heard any news about her and does not know her whereabouts. It is believed that she managed to escape and had to stay away from home to avoid further persecution.

The Mian County Police Station repeatedly harassed Ms. Yu’s husband Mr. Zhang Enping, and her daughter, attempting to determine her whereabouts. His daughter was harassed by the local police many times at various rented homes, even when she stayed at hotels. This put great pressure on the daughter.

In another attempt to arrest Ms. Yu, two officers from Mian County went to Chengdu city, Sichuan province, to harass Ms. Yu’s daughter at her workplace on December 3, 2021.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Han Fei Harassed

Ms. Han Fei was detained for 24 days in December 2019 because of her faith in Falun Gong. She was then placed under residential surveillance around the clock, and repeatedly harassed by officers from the Pingfang Police Station and the Yachengli Community Office.

Ms. Han’s husband received a call from the community office on July 22, 2021. He was told to keep her at home as the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) “sensitive dates” approached. Ms. Han was followed wherever she went beginning in September. Officers from the local police station called Ms. Han’s husband again on November 30. They said that since it was almost time for the Winter Olympics, Ms. Han was not allowed to go out. The officer threatened to arrest her and said they already arrested several practitioners.

4. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Practitioners’ Fingerprints Forcibly Taken

Twelve officers from the Mengyang Township Police Station, led by Zhang Man, the secretary of Baoshi Village, broke into Ms. Yin Xianlan’s home on the afternoon of November 24, 2021. They ordered her to sign a guarantee statement renouncing Falun Gong, which she refused. Two men then surrounded her, one on each side, held her shoulders, and forcibly put her fingerprint on the paperwork.

They then went to Ms. Chen Gaoxiu and Ms. Xiao Xinfeng’s homes and pressed their fingerprints on guarantee statements.

Three officers from the Jiutian Town Government and five or six officers from the Jiutian Town Police Station forced Ms. Yang Congmei’s fingerprints on the afternoon of December 1, 2021.

Similarly, ten officers from the Mengyang Town Police Station and the Yuanshicun Community Office recently went to Ms. Li Mingju’s workplace and forcibly took her fingerprints.

5. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Kangju Detained

Officers from the Tianpeng Police Station arrested Ms. Chen Kangju at the Dongmen Farmers Market on November 23, 2021. The police confiscated two flash drives, three MP3s, 305 yuan in cash printed with Falun Gong information, memory cards, and Falun Gong books. The police interrogated her and asked where she got these materials, but she refused to answer. Police officer Wang Jun and Wu Xueyi from the 610 office pressured her to sign the three statements, which she refused. She was then made to fingerprint the paperwork.

Ms. Chen was taken to the Zhihe Police Station at about 5:00 p.m. and interrogated again about who gave her the materials. Ms. Chen refused to answer, and she didn’t sign any paperwork. At around 7:00 p.m., the officers took Ms. Chen back to her home and thoroughly searched the place. They took her back to the police station, photographed her, and took her footprints. Ms. Chen was taken to the Pengzhou Gallstone Hospital at around 2:00 a.m. for a medical examination. At 3:00 a.m., she was taken to the Lichun Detention Center and held for seven days.

6. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Si Xiuqin Detained

Provincial and municipal officers, along with Kuancheng County Domestic Security Division head Li Chang broke into Ms. Si Xiuqin’s home and arrested her on November 30, 2021. They searched the place and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other belongings. Ms. Si was held in the Kuancheng County Huangyazi Detention Center.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Jincai and Ms. Aiping Detained

Three practitioners from Xiang County were arrested by plainclothes police assistants from the Baigou Police Department when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on December 2, 2021. The practitioners included Ms. Wei Jincai, Ms. Aiping (last name unknown), and Dang (first name and gender unknown). The officers forcibly took their blood samples and took them to the Gaobeidian Detention Center. Due to the physical examination results, the detention center refused to take Dang. Ms. Wei and Aiping are detained there.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Eight female practitioners were arrested by officers from the Lingyun Police Station in the Shenhe District. They were reading the Falun Gong teachings at one practitioner’s home at around 3:00 p.m. on December 3, 2021. They are all elderly practitioners, including Ms. Pei (first name unknown), Ms. Yang (first name unknown), and Ms. Guo (first name unknown). One of them was released due to high blood pressure. The rest have not returned home.

9. [Beijing] Case Against Ms. Wang Hefang Submitted to Procuratorate

Ms. Wang Hefang, a nurse at the Pinggu Hospital, was arrested on August 26, 2021 and held at the Pinggu Detention Center. It was recently learned that the case against her was turned over to the Pinggu District Procuratorate. The prosecutor was Qi Yuheng.

10. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Yunyan’s Home Ransacked

On the morning of November 24, 2021, Ms. Zhou Yunyan talked to a person about Falun Gong, who turned out to be a plainclothes police officer. She was then followed when she returned home. Five officers from the Domestic Security Division, the Yucai Road Community Office, and the Yuzhu District Community Office went to her home and ransacked the place. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, cell phone, media player, and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. They attempted to take her away but failed because Ms. Zhou’s husband, who is disabled, strongly resisted.

11. [Wenling City, Zhejiang Province] Multiple Practitioners Harassed

A number of practitioners were harassed on the morning of November 30, 2021. Some were followed and had their homes ransacked. Their Falun Gong books and computers were confiscated.

Some were arrested and detained at the Chengguan Police Station, including Ms. Zhang Minzhi, Ms. Cui Chunsheng, Ms. Wu Meiju, Ms. Ye Lingling, Yan Yuechu (gender unknown), Lu Qiaoye (gender unknown), and Ling Bo (gender unknown) from the Chengguan District.

Xia Gui (gender unknown), Ms. Chunmei (last name unknown) from Binhai Town, and several practitioners from Shinian Town were also arrested and detained there for one day and one night. They were not given any food and were not allowed to sleep. The practitioners were ordered to report to the police station every day until they signed the three statements. Those who refused to sign were threatened with being taken to a brainwashing center.

12. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Qiuxiang Taken to Jinan Women’s Prison

Ms. Chen Qiuxiang, from Liangshan County, was taken to Jinan Women’s Prison in mid-October 2021. The prison denied family visits.

13. [Jiaokou County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Jianli Detained

Mr. Zhang Jianli, from Jiaokou County, was taken to the Liulin County Detention Center by the Jiaokou County Police Department on November 24, 2021.

Mr. Zhang clarified the truth in the detention center and held a hunger strike to protest the arbitrary arrest and detention for his faith in Falun Gong. Mr. Zhang was in critical condition as a result of the hunger strike, and was released On December 1, 2021.

14. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Huiru Harassed

Two plainclothes officers went to Ms. Yang Huiru’s home on December 4, 2021. They photographed every corner and room of her home and searched the place thoroughly. They confiscated a few Falun Gong related materials.

15. [Leiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Ouyang Meiya Arrested

Ms. Ouyang Meiya was arrested by officers from the Zaoshishui Road Police Station when she was talking to students about Falun Gong near a middle school on November 3, 2021. She was taken to the police station, handcuffed, and interrogated. The officers asked her to sign the record and a guarantee statement, which she refused. They then ordered Ms. Ouyang’s husband and sister to come to the office. They forced her husband to sign the paperwork and her sister to fingerprint it. She returned home that day.

16. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Huang Zuoping Arrested

Ms. Huang Zuoping was arrested by officers from the Wanli District Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong around November 10, 2021. She was held in the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center.

17. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhou Shuting and Ms. Li Xiuzhi Arrested, Their Home Ransacked

Four officers from the Xin’an Town Police Station in Xin’An Town, Baodi District, arrested Ms. Zhou Shuting from Wumazhuang Village, and Ms. Li Xiuzhi from Bianjianzhang Village on December 3, 2021. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated their Falun Gong books, truth clarification materials, and printers.

Ms. Zhou and Ms. Li were given 15 days of detention the next day.
