(Minghui.org) I immigrated to Australia in 2018 and was reunited with my family. After arriving there I did the three things well, just as Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, asks of us. This is important to do to complete our missions as Falun Dafa practitioners.
I would often recall my experiences producing truth-clarifying materials when I was in China and reminded myself to persevere in cultivating diligently.
Producing Dafa Materials
There was a shortage of Falun Dafa books in the city where I was living at the end of 2002, so I met with practitioners in another city to learn how to make the books. When I returned, I made Dafa books and produced truth-clarifying materials.
I remember that learning to manage the mouse took me half a day. It was just as a fellow practitioner said, “I would rather work with a hoe than a mouse.” I was a very impatient person at that time. Since then, I have improved my patience. Making truth-clarifying materials was also a test of my tolerance and determination. I had to adapt to do this important job. I knew that I was on a mission, which kept prompting me to progress.
Given the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution, I was fired from my everyday people’s job. Because I decided to focus on producing truth-clarifying materials, I did not look for a regular job. We depended on my wife, also a practitioner, to make a living.
The money to produce the Dafa materials came from fellow practitioners voluntarily chipping in. I knew that this was Dafa’s resource so there must be no problem using these funds. I was careful to use the money only on things related to saving sentient beings and held it separately from other funds. If I accidentally mixed the donated money with other funds, I used my own money to make up the deficit. There could not have been any mistakes when it came to the funds contributed by practitioners.
When we first started to produce the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, we used to fold A4 size paper in half or fold A5 size paper into thirds to make one book. However, these books were difficult to pack and to carry, so we later found B5 size paper to make the books. After the books were produced, the coordinating practitioner said, “This is what I have been wanting to do.” This was because it was not easy to insert the folded A4 size books into the district’s mailboxes, but the folded B5 size books fit nicely. After that, we improved the Dafa books and Nine Commentaries we made until they were similar in quality to books found in bookstores.
Initially, I only made Dafa books, the Nine Commentaries, and some truth-clarifying mailers. As time went on, the variety and quantity of materials we produced kept increasing, so we decided to rent a place to produce Dafa materials.
We faced many challenges at the material production site. The most important factor was the psychological element. We had to be able to calm down. When a practitioner stayed in the house alone for days and was just producing materials all the time, he or she had to be able to tolerate loneliness.
When I went to the material production site, I adjusted my attitude and took with me everything I need to avoid going in and out of the place too frequently. That also saved time. To save more time, I would bring instant noodles. At other times I just ate white rice with a piece of tofu.
We started with a computer and a laser printer. Then we added seven printers and two CD burners. We needed to be systematic and focused on what we were doing. Our main consciouses needed to be strong.
Some printers were used to print the Minghui Weekly, some were used to print the small booklets, some were used to print the CD covers, and so on. If we were not focused, we might set the printer incorrectly and waste materials. If we were not careful, the pages would be wrong and go to waste.
We had to check for blank pages after the materials were printed. I usually stacked the papers together and gave them a flick. If there were blank pages, I would be able to pick them out. I realized that this was an ability that Master gave to me.
Master said, “You put in the effort and your teacher will handle the rest.” (The First Talk, Zhuan Falun)
Righteous Actions, Righteous Thoughts
Cultivation requires us to look at the process instead of the results when we do things. For example, when the equipment broke down, many practitioners said that we needed to cultivate our xinxing before we repaired the machine. My everyday people’s job was to repair machines, so many times when a printer did not work, I would subconsciously think about repairing the machine first. However, after studying the Fa, sharing with fellow practitioners, reading experience sharing articles in the Minghui Weekly, and so on, I realized that adjusting my attitude was of prime importance. While making materials, I must try my best to get rid of my impatience and correct my actions. Thus, problems with the equipment would naturally be fewer.
Master said,
“Then, while doing anything that has to do with validating the Fa, including doing things as a group and doing things on your own, you'll think for yourselves and try to come up with ways to solve tough problems. And when you are thinking things over, whether you use human notions or the righteous thoughts of a cultivator is going to determine the different results you get.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IV)
As the process of the Fa-rectification progressed, our material production site produced many different kinds of materials, including, amulets, CDs, the Nine Commentaries books and CDs, New Tang Dynasty Television Chinese New Year Gala CDs, Shen Yun CDs, and so on. Shen Yun CDs took more time to make as they required a lot of printing. I no longer remember how those exquisite Shen Yun CDs were produced, but recalling those times made me feel that there were Gods helping us when producing materials.
We also delivered truth-clarification materials to some nearby districts. The process of delivering these materials to the practitioners in those districts was also a process in which I cultivated my xinxing.
Most of the time, I drove the materials there myself. But there was a period of time when police officers armed with guns were on duty at the toll stations when we crossed bridges or traveled along certain roads. Initially, I was a bit nervous, but I immediately recalled that Master said,
“The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. II)
Therefore, I sent forth righteous thoughts to get rid of the interference. Under Master’s empowerment, I overcame any interference by sending righteous thoughts.
Summarizing my experience in producing materials for so many years: we must be righteous in our thoughts and actions, believe in Master and the Fa, be selfless and put others before ourselves, immerse ourselves in Dafa all the time, and frequently recite Master’s teaching:
“Also, if there's something lacking in it they'll unconditionally and quietly supplement it to make things more complete and perfect.” (Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. II)
I often remind myself to maintain righteous thoughts, be in my best state to produce more and better materials so that sentient beings will understand the truth, forsake the evil Party, and choose a bright future for themselves.
