(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 33 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Autonomous Region] Mr. Ma Zhiwu Taken to Prison

Mr. Ma Zhiwu was recently taken to Yinchuan Prison.

2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Shufen Sentenced to Seven Years

Two plainclothes officers arrested Ms. Yu Shufen from her home in Changle County and took her to have a medical examination on September 28, 2021. They said they would release her after the examination, but she did not return home.

The following day Ms. Yu’s family received a call from the Changle County Court and learned that Ms. Yu was sentenced to seven years and held in the Changyi Detention Center.

In March 2018, Ms. Yu was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 8,000 yuan. After being rejected by the detention center four times due to her high blood sugar, she was allowed to go home. She filed an appeal on March 21, 2018.

3. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Aihua Sentenced to Three Years and Elderly Song Sentenced to Two Years

Ms. Liu Aihua was sentenced to three years by the Dengta Court. An elderly practitioner, surnamed Song (gender unknown), was sentenced to two years. Ms. Liu pleaded not guilty and submitted an appeal.

4. [Beijing] Eleven Practitioners Face Trial

On July 19, 2020, 11 practitioners in Beijing were arrested and held. They are Ms. Xu Na, Mr. Li Zongze, Zheng Yujie (gender unknown), Mr. Li Lixin, Ms. Zheng Yanmei, Ms. Deng Jingjing, Zhang Renfei (gender unknown), Mr. Liu Qiang, Ms. Meng Qingxia, Li Jiaxuan (gender unknown), and Ms. Jiao Mengjiao. They were scheduled to be tried at the Dongcheng District Court on October 15, 2021. The court denied their family members’ rights to be present during the trial.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Zuhui and Her Husband Mr. Li Xinqi Arrested

Officers from the Dayi County Police Station arrested Ms. Huang Zuhui from Jintang County when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials on September 10, 2021. She was taken to the Dayi Detention Center and held there. The officers ransacked her home. They took her husband, Mr. Li Xinqi, to the Jintang County Detention Center.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhou Ailing Taken to Brainwashing Center

On September 29, 2021, Ms. Zhou was released from the East and West Lake District No. 1 Administrative Detention Center. She was then taken to the Eguanwan Brainwashing Center in Qiaokou District by five officers from the Qiaokou District Domestic Security Division.

7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Shu Baozhen Arrested

Ms. Shu Baozhen, 73, was forcibly taken to the Pozi Street Police Station on September 27, 2021. She was photographed and interrogated.

The following day, she was taken to the Changsha No. 4 Women’s Detention Center. The detention center refused to admit her because she did not pass the physical exam. Ms. Shu was held for two days and released on September 29, 2021.

8. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Zenghuan and Wife Ms. Guo Jiaping Harassed

Officers from the Lanshan District Hongwei Community 610 Office broke into Mr. Xu Zenghuan and Ms. Guo Jiaping’s home. Mr. Xu was not at home. They pressured Ms. Guo to go to a brainwashing center and sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong, which she refused to do.

9. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Guiling Arrested

Ms. Zhang Guiling was arrested by officers from the Sujiadian Police Station on September 29, 2021. She was held for ten days.

She was reported to police on December 9, 2020, when she talked to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested and released the same day.

10. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Liu Yong and Liu Yan Arrested

Officers from the Wuhua Public Department arrested Liu Yong (gender unknown) and Liu Yan (gender unknown) on September 29, 2021. They ransacked their home and confiscated two computers and Falun Gong materials. They also arrested the babysitter, Ms. Li. Liu Yong was released that night.

11. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Haiquan Detained

Mr. Liu Haiquan was arrested by Liu Ning, the head of the Xianning City Police Department Domestic Security Division on April 13, 2021. Mr. Liu Haiquan’s family members submitted a lawsuit against Liu Ning. However, he still turned over Mr. Liu Haiquan’s case to the Xian’an District Procuratorate, which was dismissed for insufficient evidence. Liu Ning refused to release Mr. Liu after the case was returned to him.

12. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chu Chunwei Sent to the Harbin Women’s Prison

Ms. Chu Chunwei, 54, a teacher at the No. 19 Middle School, was arrested in 2020. She was sentenced to three years in prison. She pleaded not guilty and appealed. Her appeal was dismissed and the original verdict upheld. Ms. Chu was taken to Harbin Women’s Prison in late 2020.

13. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Yuxiang Arrested

Ms. Li Yuxiang, 70, from Xiaoxineibao Village, Liucun Township, Shenze County, was taken to the Shenze Police Station when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials on September 18, 2021. In the afternoon, several officers ransacked her home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and her Falun Gong books. She was released that evening.

14. [Kangbao County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Xiaoyun Harassed

Officers Cai Jie and Chang Zhongxiang from the Chengguan Police Station in Kangbao County went to the Kangbao County Education Department, where Ms. Zhou Xiaoyun works. When they tried to secretly videotape her, Ms. Zhou stopped them.

15. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Huanying Arrested

In early August 2021, Ms. Li Huangying, in her 70s, was arrested and her home was ransacked. Her whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Zixia Harassed

Five or six officers from the Fujia Town 610 Office and the local village women’s federation in Renshou County went to the home of Ms. Li Zixia’s daughter on September 14, 2021. They pressured Ms. Li to put her fingerprints on a piece of paper. She refused. They then threatened to take her to the brainwashing center.

17. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Practitioners Detained in the Baiheshan Detention Center

Among the practitioners being held in the Baiheshan Detention Center are Zeng Xiaolin (gender unknown) from Linli County, Fan Ying (gender unknown) from the city, Ms.He Fuxiu and her daughter Ms. Lu Wei.
