(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Zhu Xueshi from Fei County was arrested by officers from the Zhongcheng Police Station in Lanling County on July 31, 2020, then transferred back to Fei County. He was again arrested in October and taken to Lanling County. He has since been held in custody.
Ms. Qi Cuixia, 78, was sentenced to prison by the Yijiang District Court on November 25, 2020, and taken to the Anhui Province Women’s Prison.
More than ten officials from the Shahe Town government and Shahe Police Station broke into elderly Ms. Song Qinglan’s home and threatened her on November 28, 2020. They tried to force her to sign guarantee statements renouncing Falun Gong, but she refused. She was arrested and taken to the police station. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a Falun Dafa book and several audio players.
She was released after 10:00 p.m. that night. Her family has been harassed four times since the beginning of 2020.
Ms. Yang Jinxia, in her 60s, and Ms. Zhao Meijin, in her 50s, were arrested around October 2020.
Ms. Ye Qingli was officially placed under arrest on November 24, 2020. She is being held in the Dalian City Detention Center.
Ms. Meng Qingfang was reported to the police for talking to her daughter’s neighbors about Falun Gong. She has been held in custody for over a year.
Her family recently went to Xiguan Women’s Prison to deposit money for her.
The court did not notify her family that she would be tried on the morning of December 8, 2020.
Ms. Han Shujuan was arrested on July 13, 2020. She has been held in the Hedong District Detention Center for over four months.
Ms. Ma Yuzhi and Ms. Zhang Wenling from Dongchangfu District were reported to the police while talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of March 17, 2020. They were arrested by officers from the Xiangjiang Police Station. Both were placed under residential surveillance for six months.
On October 16, officers claimed they were taking them to the Dong’e County Procuratorate to go through formalities, but instead took Ms. Ma to Chiping District Detention Center, and Ms. Zhang to Liaocheng City Detention Center.
Both practitioners were tried by the Dong’e County Court on November 23. Their families were recently notified that Ms. Ma had been sentenced to a three-year prison term and Ms. Zhang to a one-year prison term.
Song Zhi and another officer from the Anjia Police Station went to the home of Mr. Yin Bo’s uncle on the morning of November 12, 2020. They pressured him to provide Mr. Yin’s contact information and whereabouts. They threatened to take his land if he did not cooperate with the authorities.
Security director Zhang Baolin of Zhouliying Village in Douzhangzhuang Township, Wuqing District, called Ms. Wang Hongyan’s daughter one day in November 2020 at around the noon time. Zhang said to her that her mother had to sign guarantee statements, and if she did not sign the statements, it would adversely impact her grandchildren’ college admission and her family’s receiving benefits in the village, such as subsidies for heating in winter.
Village head Liu Yupo called Ms. Qi Wenbo twice one morning in November. Ms. Qi’s son took the two calls, and said no to their demands. Later, village Party secretary Zhao and two officials from the township family planning office came to her home again and pressured her to write the three statements. She told them the facts about Falun Gong and they left.
Village security director Zhang and village Party secretary Zhao went to Ms. Li Baolan’s home in November and forced her to sign guarantee statements. They threatened that if she did not sign, they would remove her family’s subsistence allowance and her children’s education would also be adversely impacted. She kept up righteous thoughts. After a few days, the village officials indeed withdrew her family’s subsistence allowance.
Ms. Yang Shuzhi was followed and arrested by Wang Yi and other officers from the Kaiyuan City Domestic Security Division on September 14, 2020. She was released after the police extorted cash from her.
Within two months, she was arrested again. It was reported that she had gone home, and her case was brought to the court.
Ms. Wang Bihong, in her 40s, from Lishui District, was reported to the police while telling others the facts about Falun Gong. She was arrested and taken to the city detention center. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated two printers, a computer, Falun Dafa books, and other personal belongings.
Ms. Wang’s husband has worked in another province for years. Her mother-in-law is nearly 90, and needs to be taken care of. Her parents, who are also in their 80s, burst into tears when they learned that she was taken into custody.
Mr. Lei Jiangtao, Ms. Zhang Suying, and another practitioner will be tried by the Qingjiangpu District Court on December 9, 2020.
Ms. Yang Qiong, a professor at Wuchang University, has been held in the Hanyang Detention Center for one to two years. No one learned about this until recently.
Ms. Li Yungui was held in the Hanyang Detention Center for over 20 days. No one knew about it until now.
