(Minghui.org) Eleven residents in Sanhe City, Hebei Province were harassed in November and December of 2020 for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999. Another thirty practitioners were harassed from August to October in the Sanhe area.
The Sanhe City Politics and Legal Affair Committee, an extra-judiciary agency, and 610 Office, an extra-legal agency, both tasked with overseeing the persecution of Falun Gong, orchestrated the operations. Local government officials and police harassed the practitioners by visiting their homes or calling them. Most practitioners and their family members firmly resisted the persecution.
The deputy secretary of Yanjiao Township led a couple of township employees to Ms. Li Guizhi's home in mid-November. Ms. Li was hospitalized at the time due to previous persecution that she had suffered. Her son stopped them and drove them away.
In the past 21 years, Ms. Li has been arrested and detained multiple times, given three years of forced labor, sent to brainwashing sessions, and tortured with electric shocks and beating.
The officers then went to practitioner Ms. Xu Shaojing's home at the same village to harass her.
Ms. Li Guilan, in her 70s, and Ms. Tian Yuqin, of Hengyang Town, were harassed in late November. The officers asked Ms. Li, whose husband had just passed away two months ago and who was living by herself, whether she still practiced Falun Gong, where she usually went and what she did every day.
Ms. Li Jingrong, of Huangzhuang Township, was harassed twice at the end of November. Her husband drove the harassers away both times.
Ms. Li Yongfen's husband ran into officials from Duanjialing Township at his front door at the end of November. He argued with them and sent them away.
Personnel from the China Railway No.3 Engineering Group Co. went to the homes of four Falun Gong practitioner employees to harass them in early December. The victims were Ms. Jia Yanping, Ms. Rong Lanrong, Lu Guansuo, and Ms. Dong Xiaomiao.
Mr. Xin Baodong's son-in-law received a call in early December and was asked whether his wife still practiced Falun Gong. Mr. Xin said his daughter had married and moved out ten years ago, yet the police in Sanhe still target her.
