(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 45 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
In August 2020, the 610 Office of Fu’an City tried to force every practitioner to sign a guarantee statement promising not to practice Falun Gong. Four practitioners, including Ms. Guo Pingfang, Mr. Pan Lianqiao, Ms. Pan Feizi, and Ms. Ning Xiaohong were listed as key targets.
A brainwashing center was set up specifically by Huang Rongsheng from the Domestic Security Division. Mr. Pan Lianqiao was first secretly detained in the brainwashing center until he was forced to sign the so-called three statements.
Ms. Ning Xiaohong was arrested and detained on the morning of October 12. The details are still unknown. Ms. Guo Pingfang and Ms. Pan Feizi were harassed at home and pressured to sign the so-called three statements.
Practitioners in Mishan Community of No. 857 Farm in Mudanjiang Agricultural Reclamation Branch were harassed by staff from Mishan Community and pressured to sign a statement promising not to practice Falun Gong. For those who refused to sign, the community Party secretary Liu personally went to harass them.
Ms. Guo Lihua was harassed at home by Liu. He threatened that local police would come if she refused to sign the form.
Ms. Xu’s husband received a call from Liu. When he refused the request, Liu threatened to destroy his home.
Liu and other staff also threatened Ms. Wang Ailing's 30-year-old son.
Ms. Wang Sumei was harassed at home in the morning on October 13, 2020, by staff from Donghuan Zhongjie Street Office in Xinhua District. They knocked on the door and demanded to know if she still practiced Falun Gong. Ms. Wang Sumei responded with “yes.” They also harassed Ms. Wang Sumei’s son.
Ms. Xie Jinxian and Ms. Shi Qiuju are teachers at Kanghui School in Acheng City. School leaders demanded in August that they sign a statement promising not to practice Falun Gong, and threatened that they might lose their jobs if they refused to sign.
Officers from Jinshangjing Police Station went to Ms. Wang Fengling's home to harass her in September 2020. After seeing she was not at home, they went to her workplace. They made more than ten calls trying to locate her.
Mr. Ding Gan was harassed from late August to early September 2020, by people from Wenhua Street Police Station and Shanhewan Community in the Xingqing District.
Ms. Wu Jinfang was harassed in August by people from Wenhua Street Police Station and the local community. She was called from work to go to the local police station in late September. Her husband was called to go there as well. She was pressured to sign a statement saying she would stop practicing Falun Gong. They threatened to charge her if she refused. She was released after being detained at the police station for more than five hours.
Ms. Liu, 66, is a practitioner from Shuanghe Town, Yongji County. She has been living in her daughter’s home. Her daughter received a harassment call on October 13, 2020, from the local police station. They were looking for her mother and threatened that her son’s studies at school would be implicated if she didn’t cooperate.
One of Ms. Xie’s family members was harassed on October 14, 2020, by staff from the Tongguang Community on Guilin Road, Changchun City. They demanded to know where Ms. Xie was. The request was rejected.
Ms. Yan Lijun from Xin'an Village, Jianye Township was arrested on October 12, 2020, by officers from the Songshan Police Station, because she was clarifying the truth at Songshan Market. Her home was ransacked. They even searched the room of her 90-year-old mother-in-law, which frightened the elderly lady. They took Falun Gong books, truth-clarification calendars, an audio speaker, and other belongings. Ms. Yan was held at the Jinzhou Detention House for a 15-day-detention.
Ms. Yang Lanying is from Xiaoliuzhuang Village, Caohe Township, Xusui District. Ms. Liu Xiuyun is from Xiantai Township, Mancheng District. Ms. Yang and Ms. Liu were arrested on October 13, 2020, by officers from Caohe Police Station because they were distributing truth-clarification calendars. They were interrogated at tbe Caohe Police Station, then taken to the Xushui Police Department, where blood samples were taken from them. They were sent back to Caohe Police Station and released after 300 yuan was extorted from each of them.
Ms. Liu Yinfeng from Hongqi Town, Fengcheng City was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 50,000 yuan. She has appealed her case.
Mr. Jiang Jingyou works at the No. 1 High School of Baoqing County, Shuangyashan City. He has been detained at the Raohe County Detention Center since his arrest, and his family has not been allowed to visit him. He was placed under formal arrest, and his case was sent to the Baoqing court from the Baoqing Police Department but was rejected due to insufficient evidence. He has not been released, however.
Ms. Liang Chenying was called to the local village office on the afternoon of October 11, 2020. The village cadres demanded that she sign the so-called “three statements,” which she refused.
Mr. Liu Changchun was harassed at home on October 13, 2020, by staff fromthe Tonghua Judicial Bureau. They demanded to know if he still practiced Falun Gong. Mr. Liu was previously imprisoned for two and a half years.
Ms. Zheng Yingying, 68, and her sister Zheng Yingzhuang were arrested at a bus stop on March 31, 2020, because they had paper money with truth-clarification statements printed on them during an ID check that was conducted by officers from the Jinsha Police Station. The sisters have been detained at Baiyun Detention Center since then.
Ms. Zheng Yingying is scheduled for a court hearing at Liwan District Court on the afternoon of October 21, 2020.
Her sister, Zheng Yingzhuang, after being detained for six and a half months, was released on October 14, 2020.
Mr. Kang Zisheng is from Madianzi Town of Lixin County, Bozhou City. He was taken to Bozhou Brainwashing Center in early October 2020 by local village officials and local police. He has not yet returned.
Multiple practitioners have been harassed from August to September 2020 in Songyuan City.
Via phone call or home visit, the staff from Binjiang Jiayuan Community have harassed the following practitioners: Mr. Sun Liancheng, Ms. Li Shuqin, Ms. Yu Xiufen, Ms. Zhao Lijun, Mr. Li Guangyu, and Ms. Zhang Shuqin.
Ms. Zhang Aifang received a harassment call from the No. 2 Branch of Ningjiang Police Department. Ms. Yao Fengying received a harassing call from the Yanjiang Police Station. Ms. Liu Fengyun received a harassing call from Jinghu Community.
Ms. Wei Xiubian returned home in Gucheng County on October 3, 2020, after serving a five-year prison term. Her family found that she was not clear-minded.
She was incontinent and wet her pants several times each day. She didn’t know how to do anything, except eat. Her over-80-year-old mother has to take care of her since she is unable to take care of herself.
Ms. Wang Meiying was arrested at home in the compound of Hengshan Social Security Bureau on September 7, 2020, by police from Guangzhou City. It is unknown where she is detained in Guangzhou City.
Officer Han Tianbao and two other personnel from Yuhua Road Police Station went to Ms. An Jinying’s home on September 18, 2020, to harass her. Since Ms. An was not at home, they asked her husband to sign the form.
Ms. Shen Wenjuan and Ms. Wang Junhua were arrested in Xixiashu Town in the morning on October 9, 2020, by officers from the Xinbei District Police Department. Their homes were ransacked. Dafa books and photos of Falun Gong’s founder were taken. Ms. Shen and Ms. Wang are currently being detained at the Xilin Detention Center.
Ms. Shen Dongmei has been harassed since late August 2020, by being followed and her door knocked on.
Seven or eight people from the local street office, local community, and local police station broke into her home on the evening of September 2. After she refused to sign the so-called “three statements,” she was taken to the police station, and detained for two days. Her home was ransacked and her Dafa books were confiscated. She was followed every day since then. Her family members were also threatened by police officials.
Ms. Shen was taken from her workplace on September 27, to the Yinchuan Detention House and placed under 15 days of detention. Her family was not informed of her detention. She was released on October 13.
Ms. Liu Fenglian was photographed by a surveillance camera when distributing truth-clarification materials in Dadong Village, Fangshan District on September 11, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Yanhua Xingcheng Police Station. Her home was ransacked, and Dafa books, truth-clarification materials, and a computer were taken. She is being detained at the Fangshan Detention House.
Ms. Guan Longmei, 69, of Caolu Town, Pudong, Shanghai was arrested on October 14, 2020, and her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Gulu Police Station. The police forcibly collected a blood sample from her, even though she refused to cooperate. Her blood dripped on the ground and her pants during the struggle.
The community director called Mr. Ye Zhigang’s wife to the Kuixing Community office on October 10, 2020, using the excuse of needing to fill out a census form. After she completed the census form, Director Chen took out the so-called “four statements” and requested that she sign them on behalf of her husband. She refused and was threatened that she could expect the police to visit her home or work and that her children will also be impacted if she doesn’t cooperate.
Police from Wujiashan Street Police Station, Dongxihu District ransacked the home of elderly Ms. Zhou on July 15, 2020, and took away personal belongings. Ms. Zhou was taken to the Wujiashan Street Police Station. Although she was allowed to return home, she was monitored by police and community personnel. Recent information indicated that she was released on bail for one year.
Ms. Yan Qunying’s husband received multiple calls in September from the Dongpo District 610 Office and the Hangzhou Road Community pressuring him to make his wife give up her Falun Gong practice. Under dramatic pressure, he threatened to divorce Ms. Yan. To save the marriage of her parents, their daughter signed the so-called guarantee statement on behalf of her mother.
