(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 42 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Chuanmei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xu Chuanmei was arrested in November 2019 for distributing Falun Gong materials at the Jiahao market, Shibei District, in November 2019. She was held in the Pudong Detention Center. Her family has received the Shibei District Court verdict. The date of the judgment is September 15, 2020. Ms. Xu was sentenced to three years in prison. Her term started on November 20, 2019, and will end on November 19, 2022.

2. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Xueyong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Xueyong from the Gudao Gathering Team, Shengli Oilfield, was arrested by four officers from the Gudao Domestic Security Division at noon on January 8, 2020. His home was ransacked. He was held in the Hekou Detention Center, and then transferred to the Niuzhuang Detention Center.

Mr. Wang was tried via video-link by the Dongying District Court on the afternoon of August 20, 2020. The trial lasted two and a half hours. Mr. Wang was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 30,000 yuan on September 24. He has appealed the sentence.

3. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Zhang Xiaoqin, 58, in Fuling District, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on June 30, 2020. She was arrested. Her home was ransacked, and a computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

Ms. Zhang was officially arrested on July 24. It was reported that her case was turned over to the Fuling District Procuratorate. She is still being held in the Fuling District Detention Center.

4. [Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Five Practitioners Officially Arrested

Ms. Mei Lan, Ms. Chen Xiuping, Ms. Yu Dezhen, Ms. Gao Xueling, and Ms. Liu Cuimei, from Huinong District, were arrested on July 27, 2020. They were held in the Shizhushan City Detention Center. They were officially arrested by the Daqukou Procuratorate on August 18.

5. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tang Xianju Harassed

Personnel from the Hengyang City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the 610 Office, the Xiangjiang Police Station, and the residential community went to Ms. Tang Xianju’s home and harassed her.

That afternoon, the police also installed a surveillance system in the duty room of the community in order to arrest people who were recorded by the system. They said Ms. Tang held an “illegal assembly”.

6. [Huachuan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Shuyu and Wife Ms. Zheng Guixiang Harassed

Li Gong, deputy head of Hengtoushan Town and the director of the 610 Office of Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and other people went to Mr. Wang Shuyu’s home on September 7, 2020.

Using their cell phones, they took video recordings. They scolded Mr. Wang and his wife Ms. Zheng Guixiang, and would not let the couple talk.

They forced the couple to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. They threatened that if they did not sign them, it would adversely impact their childrens' college enrollment and job search.

7. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Sixteen Practitioners Face Trial

Over 30 practitioners from the Changchun area were arrested by the Siping City and Lishu County police on August 15, 2019.

Sixteen practitioners have been prosecuted, including Mr. Li Changkun, 76, and Ms. Zhou Liping, 62; both were released on bail. The remaining 14 practitioners are being held in the Siping City Detention Center.

The Lishu County Court planned a trial on September 28, 2020. The court illegally deprived lawyers of their rights, and would not allow them to defend their practitioner clients.

The 14 practitioners are:Mr. Meng Xiangqi, 37, who is Ms. Fu Guihua’s son-in-law.Mr. Meng Fanjun, 59, who is Mr. Meng Xiangqi’s father.Ms. Fu Guihua, 55, who is Mr. Meng Xiangqi’s mother-in-law.Ms. Yu Jianli, 30, who is Ms. Fu Guihua’s eldest daughter.Mr. Wang Dongji, 40, who is Ms. Yu Jianli’s husband.Mr. Wang Kemin, 69, who is Mr. Wang Dongji’s father, and lives in Jiaohe City.Ms. Wang Fengzhi, 69, who is Mr. Wang Dongji’s mother, and lives in Jiaohe City.Ms. Cui Guixian, 56, who lives in Daling Town, Gongzhuling City.Ms. Liu Dongying, about 55, who is Ms. Cui Guixian’s in-law, and lives in Fanjiatun Town, Gongzhuling City.Mr. Han Jianping, 58.Mr. Jiang Tao, 46.Mr. Tan Qiucheng, 44, from Yushu City, who was persecuted for 15 years.Mr. Hou Hongqing, 49, from Jishan County, Shanxi Province, who did housekeeping work with Mr. Tan Qiucheng.Ms. Zhang Shaoping, 51, who lives in Siping City.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ye Qionghua Harassed

Ms. Ye Qionghua, retired deputy chief physician of the Electronic Science University Hospital, was harassed by several community security guards. She was forced to sign paperwork renouncing Falun Gong.

9. [Qi County, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Yanbin and Other Practitioners Taken to Intense Transformation Class

The Qi County Men’s Prison took Mr. Zhang Yanbin and other practitioners who refused to be “transformed” to an “Intense Transformation Class.”

10. [Suizhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Shihua Harassed

Liu Guoqing and other officers from the Domestic Security Division, the local police station, and residential community personnel went to Ms. Chen Shihua’s home and ransacked the place on September 23, 2020. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

They then went to practitioner Qi’s home, ransacked the place, and confiscated Falun Dafa books and other items, without presenting a search warrant.

11. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Pan Xuemei was arrested by officers from the Xinfu Police Station, Xiangfang District, on September 23, 2020. Her home was ransacked and all her Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

Ms. Liu Hui and Mr. Jin Sheng were arrested at Ms. Liu’s home on September 22, 2020. Mr. Jin’s home was also ransacked.

12. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tang Suqiong and Mr. Mo Mingxue Arrested

Officers from the Pengxi County Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, the local police station, the SWAT Team, and Community Residential Committee personnel broke into the homes of Ms. Tang Suqiong and Mr. Mo Mingxue in Qunli Town and ransacked them on September 22, 2020. They confiscated three large boxes of personal items, including Falun Dafa books, computers, and printers.

Both practitioners were taken to the Pengxi County Detention Center. It is not clear where they are being held.

13. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Du Yuhua Arrested

Ms. Du Yuhua, in her 60s, was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Dajingmen Police Station on the morning of September 25, 2020. She was taken to the Zhangjiakou Detention Center the following afternoon.

14. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Shengyu Detained

Ms. Zhou Shengyu in Jiguan District was arrested by officers from the Dongfeng Police Station on September 21, 2020. She was held in the Jixi City Detention Center for 15 days.

15. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Xiaohong and Mr. Song Tieli Detained

Ms. Wang Xiaohong was arrested on September 14, 2020. She was detained for 10 days. She returned home on September 25.

Mr. Song Tieli was also arrested on September 14. He was taken to the Songlin Police Station after being detained for 10 days. The police attempted to take him to a detention center again, but his blood pressure was too high when examined. He was then held in the police station for three days. On September 27, he was taken to the hospital for a physical examination. His blood pressure was still extremely high. The police station refused to release him.

16. [Changli County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Yubin Taken to Prison

Ms. Zhou Yubin from Liutaizhuang Town was sentenced to six months in prison by the Changli County Court. She was on medical parole. She was arrested and taken to a detention center on August 20, 2020, and was taken to the Jidong Prison on September 17.

17. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shen Xiangling Develops Mental Disorder Due to Torture in Prison

Ms. Shen Xiangling from Ganwang Town was arrested in Niuzhuang Town. She was later given a one-year prison term. She was held in the Shenyang Women's Prison, where she was beaten by prison guards. To force her to give up her belief, the guards hung her up until she passed out.

The guards also threatened that they would find a male prisoner to rape her if she did not “transform.” She has developed a mental disorder after being held there for a year. She now has a poor memory.

18. [Shehong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Xuezhen Faces Trial

Ms. Wang Xuezhen was transferred to the Yongxing Detention Center. Her case was brought to the Shehong City Court. She is facing a trial.

Ms. Wang and Mr. Liu Gaowen were arrested by plainclothes officers from the Shehong County State Security Division on May 12, 2020. They were taken to the Chengbei Police Station, Taihe Town and then taken to the Pengxi County Detention Center. The detention center refused to admit Mr. Liu due to high blood pressure. He was released. Ms. Wang was held in the detention center.

19. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Changqing’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Wang Changqing from Guangmingshan Town, Zhuanghe City, received a phone call from the Pulandian Procuratorate in recent days. He was asked to go to the Procuratorate. His case was turned over to the Pulandian Procuratorate by the Pikou Police Station.
