Blessings and Pursuits

(Minghui.org) It’s a great blessing to be a Falun Dafa practitioner. The practitioners who assimilate to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and the non-practitioners who align with these principles enjoy blessings and Master’s compassionate protection.

The Minghui website has reported many real-life stories of Falun Dafa practitioners and their family members receiving blessings. Their experiences have validated Falun Dafa and pointed out a path leading to salvation for sentient beings.

Attached to loss and gain in the ordinary world, some practitioners pursue personal interests. They ask for Master's help to be admitted into good universities, or to find a high-paying job and say, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” in order to achieve this.

They forget what Master said,

“I’ll tell you a truth: the whole process of cultivation is a process of constantly getting rid of human attachments.” (The First Talk, Zhuan Falun)

Attached to emotion and pursuit, some practitioners ask Master to cure their family members’ diseases. Ordinary people's lives are predestined and they have to pay off their karma. Knowing the truth of Falun Dafa can bring them blessings. As Falun Dafa practitioners, we can send forth righteous thoughts, eliminate interference, and clarify the truth to our families, which can truly save them. Gods see their thoughts clearly and determine their fates accordingly. Even though we cultivate in this ordinary world, as Falun Dafa practitioners we should conduct ourselves according to higher principles. Mixing in our attachments may complicate things.

Master told us,

“The greatest reason for religions being undermined is the degeneration of the human mind. People worship Buddha not to cultivate Buddhahood, but to seek Buddha’s blessings so that they can make a fortune, eliminate adversity, have a son, or lead a comfortable life.” (“For Whom do You Practice Cultivation?,” Essentials for Further Advancement)

Cultivators need to let go of all attachments in the secular world. How can we reach consummation while hanging on to personal interests?
