(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 44 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Deng Xumei’s son was sick and admitted to the hospital. When he was discharged two days later, Ms. Deng received a call from the community office demanding that she and her son go there. She went, and agents and police officers demanded that she put her fingerprints on the three statements to renounce Falun Gong. Ms. Deng used to get a 500-yuan living allowance each month, but after the meeting it was reduced to 300 yuan a month.
Ms. Tan Xianying makes a living working out of town. Her daughter is a teacher. Officers from the Guojia Police Station and agents from the community forced her daughter and the principal of her daughter’s school to see her. The principal told Ms. Tan that if she did not sign the three statements, her daughter would be fired immediately.
Ms. Xie Jiaxiang’s son received a call from the local police station. The caller demanded that he take his mother to the station and have her sign the three statements.
Ms. Yu Xueju was deprived of her 500-yuan-a-month minimum living allowance after someone reported her for talking to people about the Chinese Communist Party’s persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Jiang was harassed at home on September 8, 2020, by officers from the police station and agent Yuan Ping from the residential community. They tried to force Ms. Jiang to sign the three statements. They threatened the jobs of her husband and their daughter and son-in-law, and demanded that he divorce Ms. Jiang if she did not sign.
Ms. Ren Jianying was harassed by officers from the Domestic Security Division on April 14, 2020. She was taken to the Domestic Security Division for interrogation and ordered to sign documents. Ms. Ren refused. Officers took her home after 7 p.m. and confiscated her computer, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Gong books and printouts.
Ms. Ren was harassed by officer Xin Guangzhong and others from the Ulanhot Domestic Security Division on June 29. She was taken to a court for questioning. Afterwards, the officers returned her electric bike from police department. They then went to her home and confiscated printers, computers, Falun Gong books, and copies of Minghui Weekly.
Ms. Li Zhijing from Changchun City was arrested by officers from the Lishu County Police Department in Siping City on August 15, 2019. She was taken to the Siping Detention Center and went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was released on bail on September 10, 2019, in critical condition. The Lishu County Procuratorate called her husband and demanded that his wife go there. Her husband refused to take her.
Ms. Li's husband received a harassment call from the community on August 14, 2020. Then on September 10, three officers from the Lishu County Police Department told her husband that his wife would be tried on September 28. If she didn't show up, they would put her name on the police wanted list online. Her husband was forced to sign police documents.
Mr. Fan Jinqing, in his 70s, was arrested by officers from the Qizheng Street Police Station on the afternoon of September 22, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. His home was ransacked that night.
He was taken to the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center for five days on the morning of September 23. His family was forced to pay 600 yuan and told to pick him up from the detention center on September 28.
Mr. Liang Weisheng and his wife Ms. Meng Yongzhen from Zhang Town were followed and arrested by officers from the Zhang Police Station. Mr. Sun Deli and Ms. Hou Yongchun from Lisui Town were arrested at the same time.
Ms. Zhang Xia was arrested at home by four officers from the Zhangbei County Domestic Security Division on September 22, 2020. Ms. Zhang is being detained in an unknown location.
Mr. Zhou Yong and his wife Ms. Liu have been missing for more than ten days.
Mr. Qi Yanming, 57, was arrested in May 2020. He was released on bail because of the coronavirus pandemic. He was tried in August and is now being held in the Jilin City Detention Center.
Ms. Liu Shuzhi is due to be tried on September 24.
Ms. He Dangling and her sister Ms. Lin Jing were arrested by the Kaili City Police on September 22, 2020. Someone had reported them for distributing Falun Gong fliers on the street. Police traced them from surveillance cameras.
Ms. Wang Xiaofen was arrested by officers from the Julun Police Station on the afternoon of September 19, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.
Police confiscated over 60 Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Ms. Wang is being held in the Taiyuan City No. 3 Detention Center under criminal detention.
Ms. Chen Huijing from the Xiangfang District was arrested right after she stepped out of her home on the afternoon of September 22, 2020. The community director, officers from the Xiangfang Police Department and the Daqing Police Station were waiting outside for her. They ransacked her home, confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, and other personal belongings.
Mr. Zhang Demin was arrested at the same time. Police confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of Falun Gong's founder, cash worth 21,000 yuan, and other personal belongings.
Xiaofei and Xiaobo from the Sanheyuan Community were arrested. Xiaoyu from the Yama Community was harassed at the same time.
Ms. Lan Xuequn was harassed at home by agents from the Baiguo Community on September 15, 2020. They tried to force her to sign a repentance statement and guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Lan refused and instead told them the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. The agents threatened to take her and her family to the police station.
Ms. Xiong Lihua was arrested by officers from the Hanzhong Police Station on September 1, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the No. 1 Detention Center in Erzhigou, Dongxi Lake for 15 days before being transferred to a brainwashing center.
Ms. Zheng Yujie’s family received a phone call from the Dong’an Police Department on the morning of September 22, 2020. The caller asked if Ms. Zheng still practiced Falun Gong and told her family to have her write a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong. Her family refused.
Ms. Zhou Xianwen, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Pudong New District Domestic Security Division on June 24, 2019, when she was shopping in a supermarket. She was held in the Huamu Police Station overnight and then taken to the Zhangjiang Detention Center.
Ms. Zhou suffered from heart disease in early September 2019. She couldn't sleep and even fainted. She was released on bail on September 23, 2019. Her family was notified by the Pudong Procuratorate on September 21, 2020, stating that they had filed charges against Ms. Zhou.
Mr. Zhang Quansuo was harassed at work by officers from the Lihua Police Station on September 22, 2020. They went to his school and ordered him to provide his personal information for registration purposes. Mr. Zhang refused. They kept pressuring him for about an hour until his students came for class.
Ms. Liang Xiangjiao, Ms. Zheng Youqiao, Ms. Ai Xiaojiao, and Ms. Tian Taojiao were arrested on July 30, 2019. Ms. Ai’s sister-in-law was arrested at the same time and detained for five days. Ms. Zheng, Ms. Ai, and Ms. Tian were released after 15 days of detention.
Ms. Liang was taken to the No. 1 Detention Center in Dongxi Lake. She is due to be tried by the Hanyang District Court at 6 p.m. on September 30, 2020.
Ms. Song Guizhi, 79, and Ms. Zhang Yaqin were arrested by officers from the Minzhu Police Station on September 15, 2020.
Ms. Zhang was released the next day. Ms. Song was taken to the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center even though she failed the physical exam for admission. Her case was submitted to the Yuhong District Procuratorate on September 23.
Ms. Pang Chunxiang and Ms. Wang Zhaotao were arrested on the afternoon of September 21, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked.
Ms. Wang was detained for 15 days. Ms. Pang is being held in criminal detention.
Ms. Liu Cuiying was harassed at home twice by officers from the Laiyang City Domestic Security Division and the local police station. The officers confiscated two Falun Gong books and two media players from her home.
