Over 20 police officers broke into Ms. Bai’s home at around 9:30 a.m. on February 4, 2016. Ms. Bai and two other practitioners who were helping her clean up were arrested and taken to Diaoyutai Police Substation. Police stayed in Ms. Bai’s home until the evening and arrested three other practitioners who came to visit Ms. Bai. Police also took away Ms. Bai’s computer and other personal belongings worth over 20,000 yuan.
Ms. Bai was arrested and taken to Tangshan First Detention Center. According to some officers, they received an arrest quota around Chinese New Year. They had to finish their assignment.
Prior to Ms. Bai practicing Falun Gong, she used to suffer from low blood pressure, such that she could not do any work, even normal household chores. After she practiced Falun Gong for two months in March 1999, her low blood pressure disappeared. She was able to do work on her own and didn't need any more medicine.
